  1. a few great tracks listed but i went for the distinctive fusion track by Beyonce & Shakira
  2. its holding up well, there is so much negativity towards britney. without question the most troubled comeback i have ever seen!! even worse than michael jackson's "rock the world" with all the allegations and bad press. all this affecting her and the song: bad vma performance fired by managers k-fed rumour that she wanted to kill him bodyguard expose on her kanye bashing her custody battle britney's parenting criticised road accident court case possible fine of jail time can "gimme more" overcome all this? its slowing down her bullet is now 578 the bad press is affecting it. i'm hoping downloads will save the day and boost britney to #1, the song deserves it. Bad Image Vs Great Comeback Song. Bad Image is starting to affect it.
  3. she has so much to deal with and so much pressure on her, how is she handling all the negativity and bad events around her? its terrible to watch this. she shouldn't be having her comeback now the timing is so bad. she needs to take time off to get her life back in order and deal with her issues. she could have a serious breakdown again. i think maybe its best to just release "gimme more" with minimal promo support. it would be good to get a number #1 in the US and europe to give her some confidence but all this growing negativity is going to harm her album its starting to affect the single. i think its better to delay everything. do the comeback with another great lead single in the summer of 2008 and album soon after for her sake.

i think mcfly are the weakest of the 3, leona is still strongest but take that have the better song. it will be interesting to see the promo wars between the 3. we know leona has the best promo spot....the x-factor slot. lets say 9 million people watch it, if just 1% of the viewers buy it simon will have 90k worth of sales. i can't see her being beaten
  5. this is a grower!! a very good sign of a song having longevity this could be a BIG seller. its not bad at all i like it, it will have wide appeal.
  6. now its the boys turn to do a tribute, uh oh don't lift your skirt too high  ql_WRC4k7Zg live version by some group, not sure about the singer but the band played well. PLEASE NOTE at the begining of this video there is strobe lighting fyRTHJL9LPg
  7. ah the game of knowledge, yep that makes sense....so its the featuring chamillionaire track, you can hear a rappers voice in the background in some of the performance but he isn't on stage. its sounds like it will be a hot track. its looking good for wyclef's comeback. the fact wyclef, shakira and shivametimba were there meant they had time to go into a studio and work on the track or tracks (for sharapova's album too) maybe shakira wanted to add to wyclef's production. its a possibilty that they have worked on 2 tracks "L-O-V-E" and "King & Queen" but we are only getting KAQ. "L-O-V-E" could have been worked on and developed into KAQ? could be, i wonder if the enta omri sample will be used after all? ah so many questions  edit: so many typo's need to focus!!
  8. yep you read right i know its freakish....radio 1 played a shakira track :o apparently las de la intuicion has been a club favourite at pacha in ibizia this summer. there are new remixes, one was played by pete tong 3 weeks ago and on the 14th. it was remixed by Femi B & Leggz i think this is it, its called the All Pacha Stars Remix don't know much about it i think there are other versions too. anyone know the name of the others? are they any good? links? TIlX3xKHMr8 i like this one it pretty good!! a few good remixes have surfaced for LDLI but this imo is the best remix so far.... MIDxi86O0jw
  9. interesting....this track does seem to be called "bollywood metts hollywood". maybe its a last minute extra track that they came up with, maybe an addition to wyclef's album. could be, it is like the punjabi mc track that sampled the busta rhymes timbaland produced track which used a sample from knightrider. so "king & queen" is yet to come? how will that sound i wonder? unless!! this version has been adapted especially for for this live version and they have filled in the shakira part with their vocals. also the enta omri sample is a direct reference to shakira so there is a link there? time is the teller we must play the game of waiting
  10. its like a first level course, she may do the next level. i'm surprised no one spotted her and took pictures of her to sell to the tabloids. she just blended in with the others no diva behaviour or special treatment that would bring attention to her. shakira the average student :coffee: i just remembered amerie also went to college before becoming a singer she is really intelligent. also natalie portman and the girl julia stiles i think both went to college while they were at the peak of their careers. i think so. get those degrees!!!
  11. now hear this!! you can look too.... ew2YMbp2Fvo is this a preview of the new shakira and wyclef collabo? "Bollywood meets Hollywood" aka "King and Queen" feat. shirivista. shakira isn't there performing on stage. it was performed at the one X one charity concert in toronto. what do you think? it isn't that clear and it keeps repeating its not the complete track and note no shakira vocals, i wonder how she will fit into the track. i've heard this a few times now and i love it!!! from what i hear the beat is phat and shakira fans may recognise the sample at the beginning is "enta omri" the instrumental shakira danced to on tour (see below). this new track sounds like it could be an exotic fusion dance monster  al hips don't lie don't lie but this time mixing hip hop, indian bangrah (windowsvista) and arabic sounds, could this rule in 2008? its has potential!! yes potential!! i can't wait for the finished leak with shakira!! :w00t: here is the ojos asi dance intro with "enta omri" vCR5pifScr0

i think this may come down to who does the most and best promo, mcfly and take that are all known for doing massive promo to generate sales. leona is a simon cowell act and he will want huge blanket promo since she is his new cash cow. mcfly: we know their fanbase support them only in the first week after that they tumble cause they don't appeal to the wider public. with boybands you have to ask have their fanbase grown up and out of them? they may be too pop for some teens who may have moved on to more credible MCR but many may still fancy them so they will buy for those reasons. you never know with mcfly they have a tour where they can appeal directly to their fans to buy their single plus if they do instore record signings again to attract their core fanbase teenage girls then they could boost their sales. take that: the song is not as strong as "patience". question is have they lost momentum? their comeback was hyped and they had that sentimental documentry too. they will need to do a lots of promo to reach their fanbase women in their 20s & 30s, the mums and nans. will their fanbase wait for the album? this mentality could hurt their single sales. leona: she has a mariah, whitney, celine like broad appealing track that covers the spectrum of buyers appealing to the x-facor audience which includes the important mums and nans buyers (remember the mums and nans are the ones that keep westlife selling). if simon went for an R'n'B track then she would not appeal to them but its about playing it safe and wide.....get those buyers that bought her the first time around to buy her again. and it will work, with all the promo she'll do plus the crucial x-factor (audience of 8-10 million watching) hyping her return and performance she should get #1

she may be able to sing i'm not disputing that, what i'm doing is comparing tracks (the lyrics and production too) not just the singing. britney's "gimme more" is hotter, fresher, edgier and more daring plus its about something honest about her life...being an attention addict and wanting more and more. its unexpected for britney to do this, its brave and risky admitting that and not apologising for her behaviour. leona's track you can imagine celine or whitney singing this its quite dated in comparison to britney's track.
  14. From Ramon Official Forum I still can't believe professor Robert L. Cleve, Ph.D. wrote back to me regarding my questions I sent him! I saw him last week on campus thanking him for replying to my email, and discuss shakira for a while:) I'm not trying to be nosy here or disrespectful to shakira in anyway. Here is what professor Robert L. Cleve wrote to me:) (I got permission from him to make such publications he wrote to me otherwise I wouldn't post it here) Mr. Garcia, You must understand that I knew Shakira only as a student, not as a rock star or a celebrity, but I will tell you what I remember about her. She was quite perceptive and very intelligent. She seemed genuinely interested in the subject of ancient history. She occasionally posed questions during the lecture and often came up to the podium at break time or after class to discuss some aspect of the material that interested her. She was very courteous and patiently waited in line for her turn to speak with me---she even seemed a bit shy and I have since read that she once revealed to an interviewer that she was shy offstage (in fact, this is not unusual for entertainers, Johnny Carson being a good example). After several conversations with her I asked her if she was a history major. She said no, that she was just visiting California for the summer from Columbia and was taking the course for personal enjoyment. I, of course, had never even heard of her and would never have recognized her even if she did not attempt to disguise herself, but I am surprised that none of the students recognized her. Her internet pictures show her with blond hair and glamorizing makeup. In class she had dark hair that somewhat shrouded her face. However, once I saw her image on the internet there is no mistaking that my student was Shakira. I am surprised she cold walk across campus so many times without being recognized. The way she was dressed was anything but glamorous. As I told the reporters, she dressed like an ordinary student, which was my way of saying that wore the same ugly cloths that are so fashionable today. She wore no makeup which gave the impression that she was not concerned with her physical appearance. Yet, in spite of that she exuded a certain attractiveness, which I think stemmed from her personality rather than her appearance. I suppose that is what the promoters call "star quality." That is about all I can tell you. Best regards, Robert L. Cleve, Ph.D. oooh i  this line "she exuded a certain attractiveness, which I think stemmed from her personality rather than her appearance"
  15. here is an article about it.... Shakira rests hips to study at UCLA http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070914/ap_en_...piIdfyv1bu2GL8C LOS ANGELES - Shakira may get high grades in singing and swiveling her hips, but what about ancient Western history? For the past month, the Colombian pop star has been taking a class at the University of California, Los Angeles, called "Introduction to Western Civilization: Ancient Civilizations from Prehistory to Circa A.D. 843." "She went when she finished her tour, for the summer," Shakira's manager Fifi Kurzman told The Associated Press. For years the 30-year-old has studied on her own, also taking tutorials on the history and languages of the countries she visits, Kurzman said. The singer, known for last year's "Hips Don't Lie" and other hits, released her first album at age 14 and later took time off to finish high school. She decided to take a musical rest this summer following her worldwide "Oral Fixation" tour to focus on social causes, Kurzman said. The class began Aug. 6 and ended Thursday, though Shakira didn't attended the last few classes, according to course lecturer Robert Cleve. Cleve said he hadn't known she was a celebrity during the course and was astonished to learn she was a pop star. "She told me she was visiting from Colombia and that she was just doing this for her own enlightenment and enjoyment," Cleve said. "She looked like just an ordinary student. She wasn't flamboyant ... she didn't act like a big celebrity or anything." Shakira, who sat near the front in the third row of the lecture hall, would often discuss the course material with him after class. "I was really impressed with how intelligent she was," said Cleve.
  16. the new "celine dion" ;) back to the subject at hand......mariah all the way!!! far superior song she wrote it too its coming from a real place and mariah's voice is more expressive and passionate, also love the way WBT ends just beautiful. a great great song from a great singer! leona's people will try to break her in the US but i think the US will stay loyal to mariah, she should outsell her easily
  17. nice and steady she goes she still has the biggest bullet -_- although she may have some serious competition soon with timbaland and rihanna's new singles all leaping too
  18. if 50 cent stays true to his word and retires then i will have some respect for him. i don't think he will, he isn't happy with his record company he is blaming them for doing bad promo but thats not true. he may not want to do any promo work cause he is deluded he thinks they don't support him. its an excuse. he a sore loser, he wanted to beat kanye and didn't so he wants to blame his record company when he should blame his below average singles and weak album. he may forget this album and release another quickly to get out of his contract.

when i heard the first verse i thought it was celine dion! especially in the first line when she says "frozen" the way she sings that is a celine trademark. then she sings and sounds similar to xtina in the chorus and especially the vocal runs at the end very xtina. leona can do mariah, whitney, xtina and now celine dion. i still think this is leona's problem she isn't distinctive enough, she is a very good copy cat singer a karaoke queen. but the UK doesn't have a singer like those so she could have a place here and fill a void. its interesting her people went for a mature sound more for adults, its a very 90s song. she sounds very american (simon and clive have their eye on that market for sure). overall its very safe, no edge a little bland compared to rihanna's singles and britney's comeback track, they seem right for this time, but this isn't at all. however with the blanket promo (simon cowell will make her do in the UK) she will get #1.
  20. i don't think they did it, assuming it was an accident and they tried to cover it up why court the media the way they did? making it such a high profile campaign? putting so much attention on to them, doing so many interviews it doesn't make sense to willingly put yourself in that media glare if you know that you were responsible. there have been missing cases before but not on the huge scale of this one. if they did it they would have handled differently more low key. what these parents are guilty of is bad parenting leaving their kids sleeping alone in a hotel room in a foreign country. what if the kids woke up and didn't find their parents there? they will cry be upset or could hurt themselves etc. its not right what they did but they aren't killers. take this scenario....madeline wakes up and sees her parents aren't there she is worried and wants to find them she sees they aren't in the room so what does she do? look for them! she opens the door by herslelf and wanders around some messed up person spots her sees her alone and abducts her. if her parents were there they would have prevented this. also he parents did rub up the portugal police the wrong way making out they weren't doing enough and then you had the media here being arrogant saying they don't do things as well as we do it here. the portugal police seem to be under pressure to resolve this case. if madeline is still alive she will be kept indoors because the case is so high profile the abducters won't want to risk her being spotted.
  21. airplay needs to keep on growing at a healthy pace to help her secure #1 and its going to plan so far. when the track is made available on itunesi think think it will explode and be a monster seller. imo 1 will be hers
  22. i'm glad she isn't going to apologize she doesn't need too in public like that, it will be humiliating its seems the emmys just wanted a chance to exploit her. the VMA's negativity had a small impact on gimme more's airplay it had a small dip but now its bullet has recovered and over 1000 again. the media and dj's may be slagging her off but they like the song, its such a strong comeback track maybe the strongest of the year overcoming all the bad attention.
  23. i am once again worried for her, please let it not be too slutty and lap dancerish!! but the good news is Jake Nava is a great director! he did "beautiful liar" i hope its turns out well
  24. its good!! nice funky intro more of a grower compared to the instant catchiness of super strong LCN

shayne ward #1. he has done and will be doing tons of promo plus signings to get his fanbase ie teenage girls and the tv audience (mostly x-factor watchers who may still be loyal to him) to buy and make him number 1. i would like to see him stopped and flop its all about those teenage girls though they are all powerful they may only like the song and buy it cause they fancy him. shallow? of course
