i was listening to CMTC trying to figure it out....this isn't about antonio because some lines don't make sense when applied to him he knows her much better than the person she is singing to in this track. i think this is about her professional relathionship with her ex manager freddy demann who she clashed with as seen in the documentry for tour of the mongoose dvd. it would make snese she would write about this real life experience the manager & artist relationship she had with him. he didn't seem to understand her. what do you think? could it be about feddy demann?

rihanna's track is going to get a boost thanks to dance x, viewers flick channels especillay in ad breaks. this is fantastic promo for her....the best timing for her would be her performance right at the start of an ad break on xfactor, she will get maximum exposure that way

essay alert!! :( as slick and daveloveshaki said HDL was a monster of a hit equivalent to 2 big singles it had amazing momentum and longevity sony didn't need to release another single, they made so much money from that song maybe 4 million+ sales worldwide of that track alone. which includes 500,000+ in the UK sony met its international targets with the fixation era. shakira selling around 7 to 8 million with both albums FO1 and OF2 plus add to that HDL sales, oh how can i forget the Mega International Hit "La Tortura" single sales!! add another million plus to the total. she is so strong she's got the loyal latin amercian market plus US and europe (remember in the UK no promo support for HDL) embracing her. she is probably sony's most profitable artist she made alot of money for them they didn't need to dip into their profits and promote a 4th single especially if shakira wasn't free to promote it, which brings us to the tour....the 3rd single "illegal" from OF2 clashed with the tour bad timing, once she started touring she probably told sony she wanted to concentrate on the world tour and not do any more promo work. not many artists can get away with telling a record company that but i think in shakira's contract she has a lot of control. what she did was reasonable cause you have to take in to consideration she has been doing promo since early 2005 for the fixation era 2 albums which had 8 releases in all. it was alot for her to take on the double album project. "illegal" didn't even get a full release in the US sony spent little money promoting it. another example of sony not spending money to help maximise profits...they only full promoted 2 single from OF2 a successful album which is a really a rare thing to do with an A list artist but OF2 had strong legs after HDL it was shifting healthy sales worldwide, the could sit back and watch the huge profits roll in. i would have chosen "Animal City" as 3rd single. "Timor" would have been a brave release but risky it would have done either really well (most likely in Europe) or under performed massively (most likely in the US) but i'd have loved to see how it would have done BUT there is a small chance that "Pure Intuition" will be released as a single to help promote the tour DVD, if shakira isn't getting married next month and she wants to keep working instead of taking her well deserved break then she may be willing to promote it but i think the fixation era is over, but we got loads of new material coming our way!! :cheer: bring on the santana and wyclef collabos!! plus shakira' next album which i don't think will be a double project maybe one mega 15+ track album both spanish & english with 5 or 6 international releases. that era should be better with timing etc and we'll see shakira fully support it!!

the sean kingston track is so repetitive too much chorus!! its too annoying imo you seriously can't listen to this track over and over again. robyn and kanye may have minimal sales decline, if they both sell over 30k they could make it difficult for the suicidal sean to get #1 i hope both can deny him

i heard it too not bad just so so nothing amazing, the kind of song i thought it would be i like chad's voice though, i think both santana and wyclef are forced into waiting and not lead with the shakira collabos cause she is on her break. she doesn't want to do promo work yet for them, it could be the marriage coming up it does make sense this big gap in september/october or she could be making them wait till the new year. i wonder which track will be better wyclef's "L-O-V-E" or santana's song? i think both will have A+ production especially wyclef, its quite exciting i can't wait for leakage ;)

update: week 20 beyonce & shakira have fallen to #42 goodbye to the top40. according to musicweek position #20 was selling 6,516 and position #75 John Lennon sold 1,450 so how much would position #42 sell? my guesstimate would be 2.8k taking their total to 280,335. we have entered bracket 5!! i repeat the entering of bracket 5 has taken place yes it has. well done to the 7 peopole that chose this bracket i didn't think they could reach this amount way back when but they did and to think without doing any promo work either onto another matter....i don't want to scare everyone but kate nash is chasing beekira!! hard!! she could challenge shakbee in the year to date sales :o she is fast approaching 200k could she have enough momentum to catch them? we'll see :coffee:

the tv audience watching the friday night project could save kanye, its all about them how many will buy today? will they alone generate 1000+ 2000+ worth of sales or more? that promo is perfect timing for him to get those crucial saturday sales to swing it, after last night robyn has officially become the under dog. but she is still selling really well, one of the reasons why kanye's physicals are letting him down could be the 12" it is over priced at £4.99 also he has 2 physicals Vs robyn's 3. it could be really close....come on robyn!! -_-

closer than close robyn putting up a fight but not for long. kanye's promo campaign is big he is all over the music press plus he has a tv ad campaign too for the single, is kanye here doing promo work in the UK? this exposure for him could boost his single as the week goes on.

i see madonna and kylie dominating in the UK especially madonna with timbaland and justin by her side she will be very strong. kylie can release anything and she'll reach #1 the public and the media want her to do well with her comeback, she has huge support and sales success is guaranteed for her. britney her private life could over shadow her music and that could lead to under performing. its risky her people should wait till early next year so they can repair her image before releasing flopping i see leona she is not in the same league as the others, imo she is lacking in presence and personality. what she is is a very good karaoke singer, very similar to whitney which makes her not very distinctive. her people will be making her do blanket promo work here to try and get that huge tv audience to buy into her again. but i don't think it will work long term whitney needs amazing songs that appeal to younger generation cause her singing style is dated. her voice alone won't give her guaranteed success but she can great potential and her people are taking their time with her comeback which could mean some amazing songs have been given to her. anastacia will do really well a huge album seller here. j-lo....huge flop!! trying to do the spanish and english album combo crossover like shakira hasn't worked so far and won't work. the bar has been risen worldwide i see madonna and mariah selling more than all the others

interesting....good example i see the vocal arrangement although i have a feeling shakira will dominate she will do verses and choruses cause lil wayne isn't an A list artist so he should and could have a minimal input. maybe his voice is in background "one time.,..two time" and he gets just one verse or no verse just a semi bridge :lol: i can't wait for it though i am hoping there is just a shakira only version and a spanish version or a spanish remix featuring daddy yankee there is alot of potential! i hope sony is thinking clearly like me -_-
