back up has arrived!!! it has!! phew seriously phew, getting playlisted on radio 1 is so so crucial!! i don't mind that its C-List but i'm expecting radio 1 messin with her like dropping her next week yeah something dastardly like that. i'm just so glad her second single is getting a chance like most female acts that radio 1 automatically bum. but with shakira ist always on tender hooks cause of the HDL debacle. DIA needs building up and to reach people that don't watch x-factor or missed it. a top15 hit would do me.
  3. yeah it does look like Ny but its supposed to be thailand and she be a modern day shiva not statue of liberty. after a few plays i think its ok but ony cause of the dancing that saves the video, its interesting to see her tackle stepping and urban dances and owning it well, but those curtain...cheap!!! i mean i don't mind cheap if it looks good but they don't. they look drab.

i agree the camera work as terrible, it was an ok performance not great. she didn't go for it enough. didn't like her outfit and she should have had those dancers at EMAs to make it more of a spectacle. it wasn't attention grabbing lile cheryl and alexandra it was more subtle like the BEPS performance. this track needs BACK UP!! its not connecting like She Wolf, where is the radio airplay? she needs radio support. cause how many songs nowadays go top10 without radio 1 support hardly any. if you look at the top10 or top20 all are or have been playlisted on radio 1 apart from westlife who have a huge fanbase here. DIA right now has no chance of being a hit

DIA now #110 on itunes but radio 1 are snubbing it, typical. whats wrong with this track this time? i wonder you fools!!

here is a cool sims version 3tbbYZnRbXc what a talented guy
  7. i know what you mean when you compare GIUTM to some of the more shakira like tracks on she wolf, this track comes across as being quite tame and generic but having said that i love what she did with the track in the live performance, she injected some of unique style like fusing cheer leading chant stepping moves with dancehall winding moves along with egyptian locking moves. the live version makes the song come alive more.
  8. yeah good point, simon is very manipulative. he kept the twins in cause they bring in viewers and are the story the media is focusing on. so much for him saying its a singing competition, hypocrite <_< i reckon some people are seeing simons true colours and wont vote but they will watch. xfactor is turning into a farce like a soap opera some people are wanting to know how much more of a joke it can get. the theme this week is rumoured to be......queen week
  9. big big show for her, she will bring the latin and exotic factor to the show

not bad on first listen, its fresh sounding, i love the production on the verses.

i like that fact BEP are having a chance against leona cause they both appeared on x-factor (so its a level playing field in that sense) but leona is tapping into her core reality tv audience. i'd love to see smug simon denied and for him to know he is partly responsible. as people have alreday said BEP have the better song. leona's track is so formulaic, dated and too safe, a typical simon cowell chosen song. it would be EPIC if BEP took the crown come sunday. but they are really up against it cause of simon's huge promo budget for his favourite cash cow, he will be pimping her out like crazy this week to make sure she takes it.
  12. Poker Face as a track initself is the best, its a modern day classic, inventive and fresh proving itself as a monster worldwide too. it did it on its own merits not needing reality tv to boost it. simon cowell has to be denied he is getting smugger every year knowing he has a lock on #1s.

what the f*** indeed! its 100% amanda ghost telling shakira to sing that. trying to get some royalties are we mandagoo? :naughty: if its a battle between gypsy and men in this town, then MITT wins easily, it is getting better response/reviews by the music critics and by fans/non fans. gypsy as 3rd single will slow down the era, she needs momentum with an energetic fresh sounding track, they have to believe in ths track!! and what if Give It Up To Me is 4th instead of MITT. MITT is getting squeezed out its already on tender hooks, its just like Migrate all over again, what a tragedy that was, just awful its too painful to think about that the f*** ups in that mariah era

i love the contempary dance on the bed, the gentle then aggressive moves reflecting the up n down in the love affair. for me its not as iconic as the animal moves in the golden cage of she wolf but another distinctive inventive video with a healthy dose of bonkers

yes tis is ;) total single sales around 190,000 not bad ^_^ no really that isn't bad. very decent and respectable its just in not WW/HDL territory

she's also going to be on paulo grady, but i still feel the biggest problem for lack of sales is the album is too dear for just 9 english tracks, it can't compete with others that have more tracks at the same price. value for money is important

tis a shocker to see it fall so hard, for now it is flopping, i'm not deluded call a spade a spade. but can it be saved? shakira is hard to predict. for now the uk public are totally unsure about her and the first single. they won't commit to spending £9 on an album. they may want to hear more. plus the release has no back up. when shakira left the uk the promo dried up, also i'm going to nit pick cause i think its relevent and is a importan factor... the album is over priced why charge £8.99 for 10 tracks when you can buy madonna GH for £8.99 with 18 tracks or chipmunk which her competition also sold for £7.99 with 13 tracks. her album should have been £6.99 ;) or £7.99 i have not seen any tv ads or print ads/posters for She Wolf, they didn't back up the release. Because the album is flopping hard, sony uk may be having crisis talks or they may not care and think they did enough. i wonder if DIA will get released. they may feel they need urgent action to save the album and need all out commercial track to save it like the timbaland track. but its not on the album? here comes the UK re-release, they should have delayed it like in the US. thankfully shakira isn't chasing sales and chart positions. it doesn't really matter, she makes money from worldwide touring and she is in good hands with powerful live nation deal. she is leaving epic/sony. it only really sucks for sony/epic cause they make money from sales. shakira did exactly what was asked from her doing all that promo, if they handled it badly then they get what they deserve low sales.

oh yeah, you be right. yes i forgot that :hithead: actually by delaying the physical single it may temp folk to buy the album after hearing DIA.

great result in ireland, they really like her!!! shes never been there to do promo :o sales were close between madge and shakira, its s shame she couldn't hold on to #3 but shakira's a slow burner in the UK.
  21. its typical timbaland but its a grower, us radio are embracing this already, this remix version has more energy and the chorus is now  T2GrWEt8u4k

why wait for later  the worst week to release aka the most competitive. sony/bmg/rca/amamda ghost should time it with her x factor performance. the single needs to be given to radio very soon like next week, with a remix version with kid cudi just in case UK radio and radio 1 give shakira a hard time again and don't playlist her. sony uk needs to keep up momentum and not have this dry period of november in between.

excellent start lets hope she hangs on in there. top5 would do me! oh that chip diddy chip, i saw his album yesterday and it was selling for £7.99 Vs Shakira £8.99. OF2 was a subtle seller, last thing i knew after the era was over the album reached 300k but somehow 75k worth of sales were generated. i wonder how much LS has sold now?

i bought it today from hmv, love this moon cd. heres my rate n review: 10 She Wolf - thrilling, sexy, quirky, futuristic track, an truly original cocktail of electronic, disco + lycanthropy. no one else could get away with this song only shakira. a totally distinctive shakira classic 9.5 Did It Again - lovely chugging track with a melancolic edge, best thing about it are the superb lyrics about making mistakes in love (full review in DIA topic thread) 9 Long Time - this the grower on the album, it doesn't hit you like a truck cause its subtle like the intro, its all about the vibe. love the subtle fusion elements the reggaeton beat with pharrell dreamy polished production then add latin clarenet sounds. a track to dance too while loungin on roof top on a hot sweaty night in rio. no fuss track, shakira sounds really good breathy and seductive. 6.5 Why wait - quite a hollow clinical track, do not like the verses or the lyrics, the chorus is ok. but i do like the part the tabla comes in. bit eurovison for me, the arabic music is too cheesy, i'd have prefered if she found a killer sample like timbaland did for aaliyah's "more than a woman". the im not a waiter line rhyming with later upsets me. not cool imo 7 Good Stuff - love the production lots of attitude, like a demented electronic wasp, so much going on the track more shakira bonkers elements, it keeps switching but it works and is fresh. nice slowly down in the chorus 10 Men In This Town - my current favourite, what a track!! Hit written all over it, such a strong song. love the intro and the opening line...and then when the beat kicks....hevaen, dancey feelgood track, so fresh this track gleams! her voice it fantastic with lots of personality. so the she wolf is free looking for men in LA but where are they? best part? why its the ending dreamy trppy vocals "its suicide waiting". aural heaven. also the maria world sound, nice touch. 7.5 Gypsy - tradional song, simple, gentle, playful. great melody commercial, too commercial and cheesy? thankfully the nice use of indian sounds and banjo give this song some character. sounds like a number in a musical. a grower. 6 Spy - too self indulgent track, i wanted something more epic and earthy. do not like the trombone noise and the chorus is not strong enough, verses are ok, this may be too weird for me. i don't mind weirdness but i was expected something different and better. wyclef & shakira really messed with sony by not giving them a radio friendly commercial track like HDL. i would lie to see remixed. 9 Mon Amour - another fantastic intro, the fisrt 20 seconds are perfection! this is don't bother part 2, shakira tapping into her jealous and venomous side. the lyrics in the verses are original and hold your attention with all the drama that is taking place with did she really just say that in the verse? yes she did. no cliches here, she hopes the toilet doesn't flush, its as simple as that, not a lyric you'd ever hear some manufactured pop puppet utter. the ending is fantastic original. 10 Loba - nice variation, her voice more girlish, sounds exotic in spanish with the incredible thumping extra bridge, 2:18 onwards is pure perfection!! the way it builds up and shakir's voice getting deeper until she hits the climax like she pounces on the victim and then we get the S.O.S distress call, another moment of perfection. overall rating 8.5 a very successful attempt at tackling electronic music with flashes of brilliance and total uniqueness, shakira definately puts her stamp on it. this isn't a warm, earthy album, no really personal tracks and i miss the seriousness and warmth of the fixation albums, this is quite a risky album cause once again shakira messes with sony by not putting a exotic fusion feelgood hip shakers like WW, LT and HDL which are guarentee worlwide monsters. single contenders: Did It Again, Gypsy, Men In This Town (this has to get released!!)
