joe is just fodder for simon. he doesn't really care about him if he did then he would have invested/paid for an original song but no he goes for covers yet again. joe is starting his career with not much credibility. its not RATM fault he is under performing this is simons. the whole problem with x-factor is its about fame first then the music. where as most pop acts start with the music and then if they are successful fame is the by product it shouldn't be the goal. the music should be the foundation. joe has only sung covers so far on tv with fickle fame first based on no original material to establish his worth. he has so much expectation, hype and pressure on his shoulders for him to deliver. if he doesn't then x-factor/simon by its nature have set up a huge very public downfall like we saw with leon. he is young and clueless he will do whatever simon says. but if his is wise and gets offers for musical theatre then he should go for it. that seems to be his place not as a bland pop act cause he doesn't really inspire much enthusiasm as a pop act.

being associated with simon cowell is quite toxic thats the problem with joe's position right now. its all about over exposed simon cowell with his high profile, being on screen, a producer and having a label. people are getting sick of him and his predictable ways (ie bland cover version for x-mas single). all his acts have his large controlling shadow over them. the public seem to either love him of hate him, no inbetween. this campaign was bound to happen, some see x-factor/BGT as a vehicle for simon to find acts for his record label and to continuously promote syco acts, not as a genuine singing competition (danni was brave enough to question the show no doubt he wants her gone for calling him out). his self interest on the show is coming through more and more every year. its turning into just one big promotional campaign for syco acts.

its still so hard and uphill, Rage needs to keep up the momentum it has to be nothing short of relentless enthusiastic buying cause their adversary had 20 million people watching that over hyping rogramme. simon just needs 3% (thats nothing its so minimal) of the viewers to buy it and he has 600k worth of sales. if only Rage had an audience of 20 million prime time then this would be a fairer battle, plus physicals now thats a level playing field right there. what their doing right now is quite shockingly impressive :o

x-factor works as a tv show. even if it got 10 million viewers it won't get axed. it makes so much money for itv and cowell. many people may watch and enjoy it as a tv show but won't buy a below average cover version. some will, some cause they like joe and his "journey" so its not about the song for them. another reason why x-factor's winning song is never about good music.

its good to see someone taking on the big x-factor machine. its a shame that they are both on the same label (more credibility would have been if it was a rival label), however this is a symbolic campaign taking on simon's dominance over the charts with the continuous peddling of blandness with those lazy cover versions. sony benefits no matter what BUT to have an xfactor single not get #1 would damage the show's power and arrogance that simon owns xmas #1s come what may. can anyone actually deny simon's automatic lock on xmas #1 with his power, overhyping and 20 million viewers?? its something interesting to see but incredibly hard to pull off. david Vs goliath. why shouldn't someone take him on? its harmless competition but those that signed with the campaign need to actually commit otherwise there is no chance when the physicals kick in.

its a shame its a good album with great reviews but the US public aren't giving this a try n buy. GIU2M was a huge mistake to release, i think people are staying away after hearing that song and wondering if the rest of the album is like that. such a shame Epic didn't go with one of her quirky tracks instead. at the end of the day its about the fans, we know its good, its inventive, distinctive and typical shakira bonkers personality. the unbiased music critics see its worth and back us up so its all good musically, not a flop in that sense she should be proud of it. yeah long time is imo good. but it divides fans in a big way, many hate it with a passion. i've been getting into spy recently especially the production and verses but it has to be played loud. who else loves the first 20 seconds of Mon Amour?? clap along with the clapping

yeah its subtle and moody maybe too subtle, maybe that why its not really firing like she wolf but its a good quality song. some good news and some bad news.... shakira dropped out from radio airplay top50. but thanks to radio1 B list she is not decending on itunes. she has been hovering early to mid 30s but is now at #29. i hope it climbs from 40 come sunday. shakira will be on gmtv tomorrow, i hope she sings DIA or they play the video. she needs promo to make up for radio not embracing her. poor shakira always struggling with radio airplay here.

i don't know why but i'm not surprised and not bothered and not upset. this album is a goodbye present to Epic. those meddling fools deserve low profits!! goodbye fukkers

what we have here is an experiment an exploration by shakira into the electronic world. is it completely successful? no it isn't. i agree what is missing is warm, earthy, serious non electronic songs. however she nailed it with SW the single its got an injection of passion and weirdness and that makes it uncommercial but is very shakira. i agree about GIU2M i can't believe seeing shakira homogonized like this with an average timbland production plus rent a rapper. anyone could have sung that track where as SW could only be her. Epic thought by making a safe radio friendly track that she would sell but they have to believe in some of the more shakira like tracks in the album like MITT. Epic's timing wth this era has been terrible and they deserve getting SW underperforming. this only confirms that shakira's judgement to leave them is a sound one. shakira won't be affected by this album not doing so well, she has the spanish album as back up plus a 10 year deal with live nation, she is going nowhere!! the public are totally unsure about this album and its direction, so Epic need to keep pushing electronic tracks so the public get used to hearing shakira with this new sound. GIU2M and Gypsy are not good representations of the album. the spanish albums are always better, i hope its not so slick like SW.

back up has arrived!!! it has!! phew seriously phew, getting playlisted on radio 1 is so so crucial!! i don't mind that its C-List but i'm expecting radio 1 messin with her like dropping her next week yeah something dastardly like that. i'm just so glad her second single is getting a chance like most female acts that radio 1 automatically bum. but with shakira ist always on tender hooks cause of the HDL debacle. DIA needs building up and to reach people that don't watch x-factor or missed it. a top15 hit would do me.

yeah it does look like Ny but its supposed to be thailand and she be a modern day shiva not statue of liberty. after a few plays i think its ok but ony cause of the dancing that saves the video, its interesting to see her tackle stepping and urban dances and owning it well, but those curtain...cheap!!! i mean i don't mind cheap if it looks good but they don't. they look drab.

i agree the camera work as terrible, it was an ok performance not great. she didn't go for it enough. didn't like her outfit and she should have had those dancers at EMAs to make it more of a spectacle. it wasn't attention grabbing lile cheryl and alexandra it was more subtle like the BEPS performance. this track needs BACK UP!! its not connecting like She Wolf, where is the radio airplay? she needs radio support. cause how many songs nowadays go top10 without radio 1 support hardly any. if you look at the top10 or top20 all are or have been playlisted on radio 1 apart from westlife who have a huge fanbase here. DIA right now has no chance of being a hit

but thats even more manipulative/worse he is using Lucie and Rachel for not just trying to get his acts through but to get more viewers trying to maintain his #1 status/tv show over the competition. sound familair? its all about #1s with him. if jedward are a craze or popular then why were they in the bottom 2? he can still purchase tv ads for leona, maybe book her for another show etc. a man with his wealth has many options anyway don't reply to any of theses questions before anyone notices we have descended into OTness ;)

how about forgetting the media and use real examples of his behaviour, you want an example of ruthless and his competitive nature?...how about getting rid of 2 better singers on your own tv show so you can get your acts to the final without any threats from competent singers. and hypocritically he doesn't judge on singing while claiming "its a singing competition". manipulative too, #1s matters especially to a high profile act in the industry like leona. she needs to match the hype and retain her status especially with alexandra and cheryl all getting #1s.

i know what you mean when you compare GIUTM to some of the more shakira like tracks on she wolf, this track comes across as being quite tame and generic but having said that i love what she did with the track in the live performance, she injected some of unique style like fusing cheer leading chant stepping moves with dancehall winding moves along with egyptian locking moves. the live version makes the song come alive more.

its incredible to see BEP (the clear underdogs) with their 3rd single taking on leona's much hyped lead single. BEP's song has been around along time on itunes plus the album is out but nevertheless its on. but simon is ruthless and very competitive he will get leona to #1 by sunday by any means neccessary. he wants all his "acts" to get #1s so he can brag about them. if only BEP were doing more tv promo to match leona

yeah good point, simon is very manipulative. he kept the twins in cause they bring in viewers and are the story the media is focusing on. so much for him saying its a singing competition, hypocrite <_< i reckon some people are seeing simons true colours and wont vote but they will watch. xfactor is turning into a farce like a soap opera some people are wanting to know how much more of a joke it can get. the theme this week is rumoured to be......queen week :wacko:

not bad on first listen, its fresh sounding, i love the production on the verses.

i like that fact BEP are having a chance against leona cause they both appeared on x-factor (so its a level playing field in that sense) but leona is tapping into her core reality tv audience. i'd love to see smug simon denied and for him to know he is partly responsible. as people have alreday said BEP have the better song. leona's track is so formulaic, dated and too safe, a typical simon cowell chosen song. it would be EPIC if BEP took the crown come sunday. but they are really up against it cause of simon's huge promo budget for his favourite cash cow, he will be pimping her out like crazy this week to make sure she takes it.
