i think i can explain why she flopped....the problem with christina was she wasn't that distinctive she is like mya, she was too pop for some r'n'b buyers. plus you need to be either very talented or have very good songs to get you success, the ideal is to have both. "dip it low" was her best single and it makes sense why it did. "say i" annoyed many people with that i singing part in the chorus, she's not in the same league as aaliyah or brandy in terms of talent or good songs

i'd like to see robyn deny kanye, she does have 4 versions charting on itunes plus 3 physicals does she have a chance of maintaining her lead? i'd like to see a sales rise for her this week its possible, she could put up a battle. sophie is in the dropzone, this era for her has been dire every thing is under performing singles and album

oh i see :rolleyes: that makes more sense, yes 3 tracks....one written and produced by chad and no doubt he'll be on it and the other 2 shakira & wayne little and then tina turner, so one rock, one latin/urban fusion and one downtempo adult contempoty track. its been really well thought out his people trying to appeal to all markets. santana doesn't do uptempo so i am thinking shakira and lil wayne midtempo ala "smooth" i hope shakira dominates the track and lil wayne has a small bit but i doubt it, more like he raps on either the verses or chorus with shakira doing the other parts, we know santana doesn't sing or rap so he will be doing the full bridge no surprises there. as far as single chad must be a contender for the lead single too they may release both in close proximity so target different markets. now everyone ignore what i wrote at the top apart from some of it!! some i said!! :(

as we know shakira is featured on a new santana track, she worked with him on "illegal" and he has asked her to return the favour and appear on a track called "Into The Night" which featiures lil wayne too some new info has emerged from showbizz.net it basically says.... Carlos Santana will include 3 new songs on his greatest hits album "Ultimate Santana" to be released Octuber 13 on Arista Records. One will be a collaboration with Shakira and Lil Wayne, a song entitled "Into the Night", written and produced by Chad Kroeger, singer for Nickelback, and a new version of the hit "The Game of Love" with Tina Turner interesting written & produced by chad, what kind of song will it be? before i knew this i thought it was going to be latin/pop/urban fusion but now i'm thinking rock/pop/latin/urban fusion is there such a genre? :wacko: or maybe not maybe a pop/rock track if it is more rocky then what is lil wayne doing on there? :huh: i have no idea but one thing is for sure i am excited and intrigued to hear it!! all this waiting for the wyclef and santana collabos i think it will be worth it!! what do you think? do we want to hear a song similar to the classic "smooth"? could it be better? could it be the lead single? answer now!! yes

could be, i see britney under performing if she releases this year her people need to put it back til early next year her so she can get her life together cause it will over shadow anything she releases whitney more of an album seller rather than singles, hasn't had a big single seller since i think "my love is your love" so she may not do much damage. but bet on madonna she's got the number 1 producer it will be huge with her timbaland & justin track. 300k+ seller imo kylie too people want her to do well and support her comeback so she can release anything and it should sell buckets. mariah does she still have huge single selling power? i can't remember how much WBT sold here but with a really strong song she could do great things, but it has to be special. spice girls are they releasing a single? or is it just a tour? if they release a single then they have some potential but their time may be over leona i still think she has no star quality, plus she hasn't proved herself so its make or break with her she will need an amazing song to make up for her lack of personality and presence but she will do massive blanket promo here so she could sell loads and get that huge tv audience to buy her again x-factor winner will no dount in the top3 easy what about the fellas!? usher? very unlikely he isn't that strong, who else? i can't think of many guys coming back this year, its all about the females

its a great track, it something completely different to many songs in the top40, robyn's voice over the production is a perfect combo, it is a subtle dance track not in your face, its moody dreamy dance but has massive pop cross over appeal, it proved that by getting to #1. i think it appeals to many people not just one type of music buyers like chavs the wider public like this which should give the track strong legs in the top5

disappointed!! 4 out of 10 they messed it up, it could have been so much better. i agree with the comments grimly made why did it take so long for the transformers to appear? also the relationships between them should have been explored more like the tense megatron and starscream relationship for example but it was all about the humans and it shouldn't have been, i was hoping for more robot screen time less humans. it should have been a complete boys film but they had to tag on the love interest storyline to attract female cinema goers but that doesn't belong in a transformers film why compromise? it was forced. the action sequences weren't clear badly filmed and weren't jaw dropping like they could have been. but my biggest problem with the film though was the designs of the robots, they were too fussy and intricate, thats not how they look in the toys and cartoon, their faces didn't have any character like the cartoon did. they should have made the designs clearer simpler more like the citreon ad transformer, megatron was the worst a mess much going on. the sequel needs to be 1000x better than this first effort they need to set it in cybertron with minimal actors more transformers i want to see dinbots :D the storyline all about the transformers interaction with each other john turturro was annoying and miscast sort it out hollywood!

i agree beyonce is a grade A artist, she has had many nominations before and has won, BL is a collabo its both beyonce & shakira talents combined, the video is about them being united and sisterly it is reflected in the song and in the video. its not beyonce vs shakira there is no rivally. beyonce is a big fan of shakira she has said so in interviews and shakira has mutual respect and was impressed when beyonce came up with BL which was written especially with her in mind. good luck to both of them next month

ah damn!! that was a chance, this is what i was hoping...award show nominations to bring beyonce & shakira together to get everyone excited the first and maybe only ever performance. the audience would go crazyto see that :cheer: but alas shakira has another commitment, could it be she has to do promo duties for wyclef now for "L-O-V-E" will it be performed at this gala? there is another chance for beekira at the EMAs and other high profile shows the fact they got nominations is a good indication their get more anyway back to the VMA i'm so happy BL got some recognition and deservedly so, i think they have a chance at 2 awards i agree with Josh i have these as the winners too, best editing (the twins theme trying to confuse the viewer its all about the editing) and best collabo they have a strong chance their main rival gwen and akon that was HUGE HIT but not much of a collabo will help shayonce. however justin is an MTV favourite, this era for him has been text book perfection, he could sweep everything. i really want to see them win just 1 would be enough

in 3 or 4 weeks time they'll climb to #4, they will settle there for a bit. however its comeback city this autumn/winter could the new britney, kylie, mariah, whitney, madonna singles storm up and shake things up in the top10? not forgeting reality tv "acts" x-facor winner :puke2: summer sales tend to be the lowest of the year, the big hitters could be coming september onwards...

about the sales we should get an official statement/press release from song very soon (update on website) cause they will be promoting the tour DVD. they will let us know official figues how much she sold in the OF era and how much she has sold overall

yep her songs written by her is key, the most important element in any artist is to be distinctive and shakira has that thanks to her writing skills you can tell a shakira song right away her unusal use of phrasing, the poetic visual imagery in the songs too. song writing talent is so vital!! but the good thing is she has the critical success along with the commercial :cheer: thank goodness she is being true to the word "artist" i think her music buyers appreciate this and stay loyal cause of this

the next era should be easier for her doing the spanish and english album was alot of time and effort for her, i'd like to see one album a half spanish half english album next with 12-14 tracks with 4 to 6 international releases. it would be easier for her if she did two versions of the singles so she can hit the latin and english markets they way she did with whenever wherever and suerte, although having said that i really admire what she did with la torura trying to get international buyers non spanish speakers to get exposed to spanish so maybe she will want to do that again and not do a version in english. the good thing is she can come up with songs quickly see doesn't need to search for songs and pay for top producers, she probably has many she wrote on the road but has not had a chance to go to studio to work on them. shakira's music is worth the wait so i don't mind waiting it should be a 4 year wait like last time 2001 LS era then 2005 OF era so next 2009 new album era, i hope earlier but its up to her, she needs to get married, antonio is a patient guy :unsure:

things should start to happen soon, sony will give us some new info like a press release with info on her tour's success and update of how much she has sold in this era. i'm sure PI will be a bonus track and i hope it will be used to promote the DVD but it might not, the question is timing if shakira is getting married in september then sony can't ask her to do promo work it would be unfair considering she has to plan it and go on honeymoon unless its been put back till later in the year. i want a surprise too like another bonus unreleased track :D

i like a few the early ones from PD and DELL for their basic qualities, quirkiness and seeing shakira in that era, "whenever wherever" is perfection love all the scenes shakira rising from the ocean, the arm movememts when she is calling the huge mythical bird eagle plus the horses and the eruption scene all the dancing and suits the song perfectly also "la tortura", "no" has some great artistic images too "don't bother" too where she leaps back lit

kate seems to have peaked, it took a few weeks to happen but it did in week 5. she seems to be losing momentum her physicals will fall this week cause her track is now on now67, her airplay has already fallen by alot, the other versions of her track on itunes are falling too where as timbaland's other version has been steadily climbing on itunes, those sales are boosting him i think this is another reason why he is increasing his lead over her. good to see robyn making a big impact already
