i like this....alot its so much better than lost, lost really messed with the viewers i was one of them that gave up on it. but heroes is more dynamic, its much better great cast and script, loved the part when time stopped and the girl was saved. another good thing about it is no ad breaks

disappointed!! it was ok but nothing more....it didn't work the story was too forced where as in the half hour shows the story line can suddenly go off into another direction, the jokes weren't as tight or as spontaneous as they could have been
  6. kash should do it, she's still dominating on itunes. physically timba could suffer, he did really well last week shifting physically but his cd single is over priced at £2.99 in hmv even though its a 2 tracker  putting off buyers Vs kate's £1.99 2 tracker that could make all the difference

  10. yep big fall this week, it had to happen  we in week 17 and beautiful liar is down to #22. even though they are at #22 beyonce & shakira only had a minimal sales dip selling 5k cause position #19 sold 5,362 (source music week) so another healthy 5k to add to total taking us to.....270,954 right bang in the middle of bracket 4 :D bracket 5 should be entered in 3 weeks time :cheer:

i'd like to see kate do the 3-2-1 with another sales rise, things are looking good for her right now she climbed on radio airplay (more awareness for her), climbed on physicals and is at 1 on itunes. but i don't think she'll hold by the end of the week, timbaland's physicals should boost him as the week goes on. she may sell around 22k combined, timbaland 20k on downloads and around 5k physicals unless physical buyers are switching to buy the album instead? i still think he'll do it
  12. oooh animal city too
  13. hello!! update: once again beautiful liar in its 16th week is at #16 and the good news is music week has given up official sales data in thor report we know it sold 5,456 last week, the public keep on buying thanks to them the total sales so far is now 265,954 making beekira 6th biggest seller of the year but it is about to leap up to 4th either this week or next week :cheer:
  14. costume makes the clown is just a wonderful, emotive but a complicated song we don't know exactly what she is singing about and who she is singing too, the first 2 lines are intriging showing us that she gets things wrong she makes mistakes and doesn't want to let "who" down? the fans? her lover? the media? great song great production. alot of shakira fans are saying costume is one of their faves its got depth so it keeps your attention animal city is one of absolute favourites from OF2 should have been the third single, the remix sounded so good!! the track is just so different and distinctive, like the subject matter its not about love like the typical pop song, it makes you think and the thunderous production with the latin sounds the song is quirky very shakira but the question is would radio play it? we know how awful radio 1 is in the way they treated shakira last summer so this kind of song has no chance of being played on radio. but what shakira showed last year is that she can have a massive hit without radio support or even promo support i hope sony see how strong she is and is popular with the public so why not take risks and release radio unfriendly songs? i'm not a big fan of "hey you" maybe cause i like alot of production on her tracks like fusion elements so "hey you" is too simplistic for me

no problem gloria estefan  choose any pictures you like i know it'll be good! make us a banner now!! i mean please!! yes
  16. interesting choice for a 2nd single, the rock/pop type production doesn't entirelly suit rihanna's voice it dominates her voice too much thats it main weakness where as umbrella was solid in every way no weaknesses and the result was its monster run at #1. this is not as good as umbrella or as catchy top3 but it could under perform if its airplay isn't high
  17. maybe but when it comes to creation if you put pen to paper, brush to canvas if you created something reaching from within and making it external and expressing it you are an "artist" you are equal to others that create in that respect, however you may not be very good  some are better than others no doubt about that but determining which are better than others is not the point i'm trying to make. although i would say the best artists are the ones whose music have a unique stamp their songs are very distinctive especially lyrically cause you can tell that there is little interferance from others, their songs doesn't sound like other acts. my point is that you bother to try and create, a measure of whether you are good or not based on this talent could be having achieved critical and or commercial success based on the act of creation of being an "artist" its true in music its rare to find pop acts that have commercial success singing, writing and producing their own songs. because alot is manufactured, fakery about image. when it comes to the music the record company likes to have a degree of creative control cause its a business to them its their money at stake they need to make their money back and profit. even if you aren't a great song writer or producer at least you are being more authentic by expressing something about yourself to the public and i respect an artist trying to do that for having that freedom to try and do that cause there is so much at stake the record company would be wanting to control the act and have others "experts in the business" writing and producing you to guarentee success. the worst example of this is not using an original song at all just doing cover versions (it desends into karaoke) they are "safe" for record companies, you choose a song that is popular and rehash it, it simon cowell/louis walsh and now add to that mark ronson lazy tactics they don't bother to write, let the singers write or hire writers creating new material.
  18. the clothing budget of £200 does seem pretty low in the first place  you can imagine if it was for someone like j-lo with her bling look it would be very high and more money put into image making, where as her touring costs would be low as she doesn't tour, i'm sure the budget is tweaked around whoa look at that profit :o her ticket prices were outrageous, so spending half a mill on a track is chicken feed to her
  19. you can't put amerie, rihanna into the same category as paris hilton. this is about singing live and proving its your voice on the cd, i don't have a problem with rihanna or amerie both of them have proved that already where as paris hasn't thats why so many people have a problem with paris. when it comes to singers writing and or producing their own songs thats a different issue thats when "singers" turn into "artists", that rasies the bar higher and many female pop acts can't reach that level. even a veteran like veteran whitney houston is a labelled a "singer" but she is not an "artist" she has never written any of her songs. there is a big difference!! the bar keeps rising.....you start with the singers that only sing can't write, ones that sing and only write, and the top ones that sing, write and produce. so you can have an eclectic mix of pop artist like kate bush, mariah carey and shakira plus a few others who have written and produced their own hit songs. it doesn't matter if you dislike these 3 artists i mentioned thats not important, what matters is they are being true to the word "artist" one that creates and bothers to write and/or produce their own music and you have to respect that they are at least attempting this...the words you hear sung are coming from their mind, heart and soul. so back to paris hilton she is at the very bottom of the bar she still hasn't sung live and proved its her voice on the cd!! its so shameful of her but she has no integrity we know this about her
  20. thats interesting that sounds like way too much money for just a mini tour. her last 2 albums under performed didn't they? those days are gone, times have changed cause £200,000 is plenty for a 3rd single!! the only way you can justify that kind of amount for a 3rd single is if your album is selling really well and the first 2 singles were big hits. i don't think even amy winehouse's record company would spend that much (unless the video had many effects) even though they made a ton of money from the massive sales of her album cause"back to black" and "tears dry on their own" are simple low budget videos. nowadays record companies need to find ways to cut down costs, they know album sales are falling. unrelated but an interesting fact timbaland charges $500,000 for producing one track and thats what madonna is paying for her new album but she can afford it her budget must be huge!
  21. i have to agree about amerie she can sing and has sang live many times even rihanna has attempted to sing live so both gets credibilty points and aren't tricking the public, where as paris has never sung live we still don't know if its her voice if she can sing thats what i mean abot deception.
  22. i agree you need so many things to make it nowadays, the talent of course plus to be distinctive i think is so important! to have a strong unique identity that sets you apart from the competition, credibilty too....it helps if you can write and or produce your own music to make that effort, songs coming from your mind, your heart and soul so the public get to know what the artist is going through or has been through. also the visual part, image is important too madonna being the best example of how to use that reality shows are about hype and getting an emotional connection with the singer's journey, getting that huge tv audience sucked in and spending, its a form entertainment, its just a tv show its not about music thats why so many reality tv acts struggle in the music business and get dropped. if you are going to get into the business for the lifestyle for the money, for the superficial aspects like fame then you have a bigger chance of failing your credibilty will be affected

engagement.......to antonio for 4 years? or more can't remember, time to get married shakira!! :cheer:
  25. what i don't understand is how can anyone like a "singer" when they have never once sang live, there are certain rules that must be followed in pop music and proving that it is your voice on the cd is one of the most important!! you need to know that what you are buying is not a lie, why would you buy deception!? unless you are really sucked in by the image. now i would understand if the ones that liked paris's "talent "were children under 15 years old cause they aren't mature enough to ask questions about the live singing topic but once you hit 15 you start to engage in your "quality control" and you don't fall for such blatant bull$h!t tactics. you have to believe in truth not lies there is no question she will flop 100% so hard if she doesn't sing live and prove its her voice the same situation happened to rachel stevens, she did so much promo appearances on tv but never once sang live and the public started to get suspicious and then they stopped buying resulting in her flop singles and album even though the critics gave her album good reviews. she messed up her career by not singing live, you can't mess with the public and fool us! you can fool and mess with kids making your money from their pocket money cause they are niave. the fan bases may be deluded too and support artists that never sing live but they are on a sinking ship cause that artist has zero credibility and will flop in the end and lose their record deal.
