it wasn't even funny and downloading illegally is nowhere near as bad as punching a baby!! no one punches a baby :o anyway the record companies are spooked they claim they are "losing" money year on year, thats not strictly true....they aren't making as much profit as before, the profit margins aren't as big as they used to be, plus another thing they can't stop sharing music among people, some people may not illegally download or may stop doing it but they can use another option ie getting it from others, so is that bad too? even if that person downloaded it legally? why can't they give it to you since they may have paid for it, what a load of sh!t!! this ad is

its not gonna be beyonce and shakira, look all the others!! they could even only get #3 cause all the others are doing promo work and are here in the UK supporting their songs even neyo and he has no chance :lol: but shakira is on her tour break in her home in the bahamas and beyonce is on tour in japan. the arctics are touring now and all over the press so awareness is high of their return, their fans are getting ready to buy physicals tomorrow. imo the arctics are too strong for beyonce & shakira! the promo situation is even worse for Beekira cause "beautiful liar" has no tv ads or magazine ads either, it too much to ask for the track to be #1 without support :( i want to be wrong though!

i think HDL did the work of 2 singles at least!! and OF2 reached its target in the UK and worldwide so the 4th single was scraped, sony can save money by not releasing a 4th single saving on spending on video and promotion its rare to have just 3 relreases from a hit album, you see nelly, pink and justin all having 4 or more singles and being heavy promoted so the profits from OF2 must be quite big cause they aren't spending as much i think wheh she releases a tour dvd they may release "pure intuition" in the english market and "LDLI" in latin markets it makes sense to help promote it and include PI as an extra bonus track on the DVD, i bet sony are so happy there is a break in her tour so they can get a meeting with her and discuss what to do next but she has added more dates in mexico so they don't seem to have much power over her she is still tour crazy and doing what she wants, oh well she is all powerful :lol: thay have to put up and shut up ^_^

yeah i wanna see them together performing especially if this song becomes a huge worldwide hit, it may get nominations in the future and maybe shakira will agree to perform it on award shows, one thing i have noticed is how shocking it is that shakira does so little promo nowadays but she is able to get away with it :o and become the biggest selling artist of 2006 how!!?? if you compare her to the promo workd done by justin, beyonce, nelly or xtina its not that much at all especially in the UK its cause she is all powerful :lol: sony can't control her and tell her what to do when she started to tour, she seems to be setting the rules in this era ie "i won't do promo work when i'm touring sony!!" i understand it, she is a person not some robot and she gets tired and doesn't want the hectic lifestyle like back in LS era where she was doing so much but what matters is she can still sell big no matter what. i mean who can get away with doing what HDL did last year!? or recently releasing a single like "pure intuition" on downloads only in holland and have it reach #6 and still after 10 weeks on the chart its at #16 without shakira making a video, without relying on physical sales and without shakira promoting it, all the competition have videos and physical sales....she's so strong!! do you remember "illegal"?? its still charting in some countries in europe :rofl:

do you know why i love it so from the very first listen!? well do you!? i shall tell you.... cause its sounds so distinctive, it sounds nothing like an other song around now and cause its my favourite kind of shakira's music....all out fusion!! its strength is the production for me i love love the mariachi-flavored horn-section fanfare when beyonce says her name and then shakira its like they are being announced they are about to enter a gala ball. i love the fact its mid-tempo the beat struts with hip-thrusting arrangement, its hypnotic and effective then comes the flamenco hand claps and spanish guitar, its such a well constructed track, well thought out fusing r&b, latin and arabic sounds lyrically we are entering soap opera drama territory but it works. the women responding to each other, fighting each other's corner then finally uniting over the deception. one of my favourite part is when shakira sings "I walked in on your love scene slow dancing" then beyonce defends herself "You stole everything how can you say I did you wrong" you can see the scenaro, you can imagine the scene the drama taking place in the song like in a film beyonce is clearly a fan of shakira and i reckon a big one, she did so well by understanding shakira's type of fusion music and trying to get her to agree to this collabo after 1 year of trying, i bet shakira was impressed with beyonce effort and thats why she said yes to her

there is nothing wrong with it, i'm just saying thats one of the reasons why jlo and shakira are being compared right now :) the 2007 jlo era is about releasing the spanish album in april then english in november its the same formula as shakira's fijacion oral vol1 and oral fixation vol2 era ^_^

the problem j-lo is facing is the fact shakira exists!! :lol: what i mean is that shakira did the spanish album followed up with the english album (oral fixation vol1 and vol2) first and j-lo will be compared to her cause she is the next one to try and do that, its now a trend, nelly furtado will be next. the second problem j-lo is facing is shakira raises the bar so high she can't compete, the fact shakira can construct a track from scratch, write and produce it gives shakira's credibilty making her music authentic and people can see that and appreciate that the facts she is trying, she's doing what an "artist" is supposed to do which is to be the creater of their own "art". jlo's artistic weaknesses are really exposed next to shakira, jlos music seems to be about the fame and money or pushing the jlo brand her clothing line, her perfume etc whats that got to do with music?! i think jlo is in trouble now and will get dropped if her english album flops too like her previous english album shakira may not be as slick as her peers but thats cause she is in control artistically since her 3rd spanish album where she took creative control at 18 and it turned into a huge hit for her and sony, sony then left her alone to do what she wants on her albums, this kind of freedom is rare among female pop stars but the formula works, no one tells her what to write or how to sing plus you have to take into consideration english isn't her first language its her 3rd so she's doing well singing and writing in a foreign tongue and being so successful with it, nelly is going about the spanish crossover in the right way by learning spanish and writing in it, it'll give her more credibilty than jflop

surprising is the word! i like it too, i prefer to see it at #1 than mark ronson track, it is doing really well considering "stop me" is on 2 physical formats vs "give it to me" 1, the mark ronson video is rubbish too :lol:

good news!! the 12" is now released on the 16th too, its changed dates on hmv site. that makes it 4 formats each on the 16th for arcmonks and beekira a fairer battle

the musicweek report is in today and it has shayonce in the top 5!! :cheer: still on downloads, timtimfur at #1, arcmonks non mover at #11 but they will be alot of promo and exposure for them starting on the 16th, radio 1 are dedicating a day to them and lots of competitions etc but as of yet no promo for beyonce & shakira if we had some we could secure #1!! they will have to get top5 on the strength of the song and video thats still really impressive!
