  1. i checked it, it costs $16,000,000 (million not billion) and if you split that 4 ways you get $4,000,000 thats how much she is spending and thats not bad for your own island considering houses in hollywood sell for more than that
  2. its doing so well....still #1 on itunes its really going for it, could it really jump from #94 to #1 on billboard this week!? cmon shayonce!! and its bullet is healthy too....856
  3. the respectable newspapers are starting to understand and respect shakira as an artist and seperate her from her pop peers, its taken a while though she confuses the media and the public  i love this line from this independent review... "she has creative control as her own writer-producer that exceeds even Madonna's, and separates her from moulded, helpless superstars such as Britney. That explains the unpredictable, organic feel of tonight's show, which is clearly the creation of an artist, not a corporation" and this "the pop industry has not yet tamed Shakira into product" good analysis here is the full article.... http://enjoyment.independent.co.uk/music/r...icle2378382.ece also heres another good one from channel 4's website.... http://www.channel4.com/blogs/page/music?e...y_knew_that_she i like this part.... "What sets Shakira apart from Britney, Madonna or Beyonce (apart from being more popular internationally, and smarter, and prettier, OK, we'll stop) is instead of going nuts, religious or boring, Shakira just seems to get nicer, happier, better. But all the time she's still the complete artist. The real deal. The people's popstar."
  4. in todays guardian there is an article about shakira on page 20 (main section), its a profile on her.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/colombia/story/0,,2041358,00.html

i've seen lost highway (when it was on tv a few years ago) loved it but thinking back i can't really remember it just certain scenes  thats the thing with david lynch...complicated plot non linear, i agree mulholland drive is just so mind blowing i was lucky to go see it in the cinema...it amazed me they way lynch leads you down a path then rips the path right under you :o go see it!! but be prepared to do some hard thinking and analysis, i was ready came prepared and tried to rememeber every little thing and link it somehow, it was so great though trying to figure it out seriously i know what was going on, the plot, what everything meant, what was happening it all came together for me at the end so if anyone has a question about it, i can answer it!! i wouldn't recommend this film to just anyone firstly its a marathon 3 hours, when i saw it 5 people walked out  you need to work your way up to this film so seeing mulholland drive is essential so you know what kind of film you're getting into

i just seen this film and its  but in a good way!! i actually understood it ^_^ well i think i figured it out.....i don't know where to begin, anyone else seen it? is a fan of his work? remember Twin Peaks? i thought Mulholland Drive was a challenge but Inland Empire is even more confusing
  7. he lost cause he is "a joke" thats no longer funny what i mean is his band always had the p*** take factor ie the send up factor in the songs and in the videos the problem with that is you don't get taken seriously and the joke can get tiresome, the way he reacted shows he was a bad loser, i love it when you can egotistical artists are exposed the same thing happened with kanye west when he lost at MTV he threw a hissy fit i think a lot of votes went to schooch as a joke, two things were happening they got some votes from the public cause they thought this is what eurovision is all about the other countries will respond well to it (thats what they think) but crucially some subversive people saw how awful and cheesy it was they voted to sabotage our entry cause eurovison is seen as naff and know we'll do badly so they wanted to f*** things up even more

i'm not surprised avril is doing well, the track is incredibly catchy like a cheer leaders chant, the chorus is like toni basil's "hey mickey you're so fine you blow my mind hey mickey" -_-
  9. easy this week Nelly Furtado - SIR

aha but that is incorrect i have an example... back in 2002 when whenever wherever was about to be released radio1 did not play list the song in the run up to its release, after it charted for 2 weeks they added it to C List for 1 or 2 weeks then dropped it, so they have done this before

long story....come to the shakira forum to find out  basically she is foreign, in radio 1s mind British and US acts are credible but a South Amercian artist....a big no no! plus english is not her native language its her 3rd language they have a problem with that, even when HDL reached #1 not once but twice which showed them that it was popular with the public they refused to playlist her not even C List, but they playlist paris hilton WTF!!? shakira at least writes and produces her own stuff so in terms credibilty she is up there radio 1 are anti shakira but we taught them a lesson....HDL was in the top40 charts for months and we forced them to play it once a week ha ha ;)
  12. good question, i think it counts as 1 sale like buying a cd single but if you download each track seperately it counts as 4 sales, i think thats right Ashley would know though, i think Fuggie has 3 version of glamourous in the top 45, its gonna be tough for Shayonka to do get one next week but its doable cmom Beekira!!!
  13. #1 on itunes its officially a monster, people are saying this has a chance at #1 on billboard next week!! :o a jump from #94!! oh my thats a leap and a half but fergie has huge airplay, BL will need to sell massive in order to capture #1, if only beyonce and shakira did some promo work to support it!! ah shakira is still busy touring so i'm thinking it will be at #2
  14. i agree Timbo is not in the running, it will do well though top#5 but its a 2 horse race imo between beautiful liar and brainstorm, i'd bet on artics, they look like doing promo work to support the single where as beyonce and shakira won't (shakira is stil touring) this will be another factor that will make artics #1
  15. perfecto posted a post in a topic in International Charts
very excting but bee & shak have to sell a huge amount to get to #1, fergie's airplay is HUGE! i think BL will leap to #2 but i want a record broken ^_^
  16. i actually like brainstorm and it feels like a #1 single and i think it will get it, i see artics at the top cause they're british and so have a much bigger fan base here, i'd be happy with #2 for the ladies however the following week BL may have a chance at #1 the song should have stronger legs than the monkeys, it will be interesting to see what happens...
  17. i love it!!
  18. looks good!! i can't wait to see what her super fan Timbaland comes up with, his dream collabo finally came true
  19. both artics monkeys and beyonce & shakira are B listed, they are heading for a battle :arrr: i see artics at #1 though they are british and have a much bigger fan base here, i'd be happy with #2 for the ladies however the following week BL may have a chance at #1 the song should have stronger legs than the monkeys
  20. Si Tu No Vuelves  with Miguel
  21. AHHHHHH those bast*rdS at Radio 1!! Why i outta....wait wait wait back back back.... this is......good news!!! its just i saw radio 1 mentioned and flew into an automatic rage!! i was about to shake my fist in an aggressive manner too but no need i tells ya!! no need :D B list is good better than good great!! i can't believe its doing well but i still refuse to listen to the c**p that is radio 1 oh no :nono:
  22. good review, the opening line is correct, shakira will always struggle here cause some britons won't accept the fact she is singing in her 3rd language so she won't be taken seriously or will veer be in their mind credible, its their loss!! i can't see Madonna, Beyoncé and J-Lo be able to carry a tour with just them on the stage without back up dancers all the time plus shakira's musical journey is much broader where as M, B and J are quite narrow, shakira is different and unique in that sense
  23. wow how many weeks has it been since FO1 release and to see a number 1 single from it at this stage....amazing!!! only shakira!! well deserved one of my favourite tracks, sony should make a video for LDLI/Pure Intuition it can be a tour montage if they want to save money and not dip into FO1/OF2 profits and use this as video/promo to push the tour DVD release coming soon with a bonus track Pure Intuition on there, i wish they'd do this!! it makes sense, release PI in the rest of europe including the UK maybe even USA too, sony do this!! oh and also release the Hex Hector Dance Remix on cd the single
  24. ^^^ in the UK :dancing: the song has rocked up to #7 in the US itunes chart after being available for one day it should reach the top very soon

hmv have added the formats to their site... http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/simpleSearch.d...ubmitSearch.y=0 CD1 - £1.99 CD2 - £2.99 12"- £3.99 good pricing glad CD2 isn't £3.99 cause that would have affected sales, the cd cover is very boring couldn't they have a picture of both of them? come on sony get your act together!! but what is this Standing Room Only DVD all about for £5.99?? very mysterious  don't you think?
