definately older and broader than your average pop act and this is good cause older buy albums over singles. but shakira is a single seller too she has the teens on board. HDL is proof of that, sold over half a million here you can't say one kind of buyer bought that track , she just needs to pull out a radio friendly track and it seems we will be geting a few! anything could happen next year but we could be looking at a MONSTER era what with sony and live nation backing her.

he gets the job done and delivers radio friendly songs, i don't know what to think, its not exciting :blink: but lets see what they come up with. what matters are the lyrics and thankfully shakira writes so i'm not worried.

we could be taking huge numbers this era, every era she has had the biggest selling song of that year. Laudry service sold 13 million albums and "whenever wherever" was the worldwide biggest selling song of 2002. FO1 sold 3.5+ million had "la tortura" which was the biggest spanish language track of 2005 and this decade. then we had OF2 another 3.5+ million seller with "Hips don't Lie" which was the worldwide biggest selling track of 2006. for every era she had the biggest global single of that year! actually thinking about it that is pretty amazing. no other act has managed to replicate this feat this decade. so we know shakira can shift massive numbers with just one big hit from an album, thats all she needs. imagine if she has 2 big singles or 3! rihanna had how many from GGGB 6 or 7? if shakira can give us 4 (we're not asking for much just 4 radio friendly songs from this album please!!!) then it could be all over for the competition! well we'll see, this new album can't get any more uncommercial than the fixation albums.

"i know things about him that you wouldn't want to read about" not really appropriate, so i'm prety sure no BL performance! writing a song just for him would be a great gesture, she has time to come up with something simple all about the lyrics then i say go for it. but who knows her schedule.

new sh!t indeed! yep its all looking very good and getting exciting. the new era is coming soon, can't wait till it kicks off. we know she is working with wyclef again, redOne, pharrell, gustavo, tim mitchell and some UK producers in chiswick :lol: plus more. i think this album will be more radio friendly than the fixation albums with a few surprises. i just hope we get many tracks on the album at least 13. wouldn't object to a deluxe version either.

i noticed you really need to make the effort to get into this album especially all the downtempo stuff. some of them are so weak and lumbered not beyonce like at all. it shouldn't have to be this hard to get into an album but it is, i have given this a chance and after a few listens i've let the growers grow. some of the deluxe extra tracks are pretty good, i was surprised that "hello" is now one of the better tracks. the lyrics and verses are very good cause you feel she is singing about something real, her relationship with jay-z and its interesting and passionate so it definately resonates, it has a great hook BUT why oh why is beyonce singing "hello" and "ago" like that? its too pronounced, it should be gentle she does too much with it, if only she sang it softer. but you get used to it. <_< "scared of lonely" is also good. my ranking: 10 sweet dreams 09 radio 08 hello 07 broken hearted girl 07 if i were a boy 07 sacred of lonely 06 save the hero 06 halo 05 disappear 05 diva 04 ego 04 why don't you love me 03 ave maria 03 satellites 03 smash into you 03 single ladies 02 thats why your beautiful 01 video phone i think i've been generous with the mid section marks, basically too much filler which is a shame but i will definately be listening to sweet dreams, radio and hello again.

it was awful, oh where to begin? the plot is difficult to follow and dull as hell!! the set pieces lackluste and all sign posted, here comes the car chase, a boat chase, on foot chase, a plane chase. action by numbers. the bond girls were average, gemma was totally wasted and whats up with that plummy accent (not credible at all) and they don't have the charisma like eva green had. the bad guy is boring and completely forgettable. craig's bond is still a thuggish bouncer and daniel came across as very cold too cold, he acted and looked totally disinterested with what is going on. this film didn't feel like a james bond film and certainly didn't have its spirit.

wow this album is about extremes from the very good to the downright awful! on first listen the best tracks are the grabbers like "radio" (nice fergiesque type singing intro and anthmic chorus, just love the part she sing "he's got a place in my heart") just wonderful!! but the best by a mile is "sweet dreams" (love the daft punkesque intro with such a feel good catchy hook) beyonce at her best!! what the hell is going on with the singing on "hello"??!! its just awful "halo" very commercial one republic sounding, too safe and way too calculating of a track, all the "halo" chanting is annnoying! i don't feel this at all its just too over blown another wtf moment is "diva" the hottest of mess with a ton of attitude this will be a t***** anthem no doubt! :wacko: but after 1 listen i have had enough of this track.

i really hope the 10 million viewers appreciate "i stay in love" and see it as a classy emotive ballad. hopin it translates into sales but im not holdin my breath. BUT she has to sing it live to convey the emotions of the song especially the second half of the track and its fanatsic vocal climax! mariah needs to show them how its done, this deserves to be a big hit.

dull and uninspired, mariah looks vacant and static as a showgirl. they really missed a chance to come up with something special cause this wondeful track deserves so much better

pink or KOL. could be pink cause she has downloads and physicals plus she is in the UK this week doing high profile promo to boost her. however looking at the KOL sales for last week if they clear 40k this week then pink may struggle. KOL have the album out so buyers may be switching from buying the single to the album so they have that going against them. what they have going for them is their airplay, cause the track hasn't reached its full potential only at #17 if it continues to climb it should be reaching a wider audience (wider public) who may not be aware of the song = sales.

well you can easily take alesha out of the equation, the song isn't very good or fresh its not tapping into whats happening now musically. leona is no question favourite the combining of downloads and physicals in the same week + the prime time x-factor slot. this is her core reality tv audience, simon cowell is expecting massive sales from his favourite cash cow. i would like to see britney at #1 to make up for "gimme more" and "piece of me" not going #1 cause they both deserved too but if she can't do it then the killers to do a kings of leon type upset and wipe the smug smile of syco!! -_-

i don't see this linked to sam lufti or adnan, the song doesn't seem to have anything to do with them. the first line is "superstar" she is calling him that so its someone with status and fame and she already knows he is a womanizer so she doesn't get into a relationship with him so its not about adnan (cause she did date him) in the song she doesn't "fall for him". no this doesn't seem to be about something real unless she has met some celebrity after andan but didn't have a relationship with him and it about this "superstar".

this track and the production is very very similar to bambo number 5

on first listen its not as good or relevant as "gimme more" and "piece of me". not sure about the low and hollow singing on the verses and the chorus has alot going on. its quite a cold track, its definatley not one of her best

i like this, its interesting musically too i like when the production builds up..its a bit pet shop boys bit a of dance mixed in, its got a catchy hook so its has pop appeal. #1 is more than doable

he is appearing on the best and most powerful promo spot, especially for an x factor winner cause they are reaching that crucial reality tv audience that followed their "journey" and bought them the first time around. so it doesn't matter what he sings....sheep will buy. with 10 million viewers watching he just needs less than 1% watching to download to sell 100k. the song is totally bland middle of the road, safe, forgettable formula c**p. i don't like it :lol:

interesting.....katy and PCD deny mcfly "lies" aka B.O.N "boys" rip off. interesting to follow cliff's descent in his 2nd week as he is another act like mcfly who is fanbase only driven that rely heavily physicals and don't appeal to downloaders. both have very weak legs and can't hang around in the top10 however he managed to stay top15 with no radio 1 support. the mums and nans having an impact on the chart :wacko: so the question is how will mcfly fare next week? will cliff end up having a better chart run? :mellow:

we are entitled to our opinons FFS and its not personal, imo its about 3 factors....its not just about the hard sell tactics that reek of desperation but its can also be the songs which some may dislike and finally their chart performance (sales and runs). for once we would like them to do what the majority of the acts in the chart are doing and not include so many version and TRY to rely on the strength of the song and NOT getting your young fanbaseto buying multiple versions, they should be ashamed of themselves taking childrens pocket money like this every time. pure exploitation. if any other act was doing what they were doing we would be talking about it and being critical too....no exceptions!! the final factor is their chart performance and after all this is a chart forum and they are more than worthy of criticism cause their chart runs and sales are nothing less than c**p compared to most tracks that reach the top5 especially the ones that have long and healthy chart runs.

her fanbase will take her to #1 not because its a good track or a memorable one at that, imo she isn't distinctive at all, she is still a karaoke queen. can emulate mariah, whitney and now...on this song at times she sings like toni braxton, deblah morgan and deborah cox all wrapped up in a mariah carey type video. very americanized totally tailoured to that market.

i know, its so sad to see. how good can you f*** up an album and era by choosing the wrong releases. i tell you what went wrong..."migrate" should have been released and made priority. ideally it should have come 1st but we all thought ok let TMB do its thing, its fun and playful track and it got to number1 so its all good. then it will be time to migrate? but no we get the downtempo 2nd release pattern trying to follow EOM formula, but why bye bye? its not as good as ISIL. BB was too obvious with its sentimentality and as many of us wrote it was no WBT. ok so 3rd release, its definately time to migrate? but we get IBLYL. there are much better tracks and fresher sounding ones. this song is very 90s and too slick, it has no edge its very smooth too smooth and not a song for these times. where as migrate has that fresh futuristic sound that perfect fusion of hip hop and r'n'b, its got hot rapper t-pain to attract the urban market too. the production is flawless and mariah soulful sultry voice over the tough beat is just perfect. and then those passionate vocal ad libs at the end! chills i tell u!! its EPIC!! mariah at her best!! but sadly it will end up as a hidden gem. i blame the decision makers 100%. its not about bad videos or bad promo but bad singles!! sony f***ed up! it could have gone so much better and still could but they got idiots working over there who don't understand this album and its strengths.
