Happy that all the streaming I do contributed to something! The Scandinavian charts seem to be completely defined by Spotify. She always performs well in Sweden and Norway in ITunes and Apple Music but she rarely charts in Sweden and never in Norway

I think she should now leave BMG. Tension I and II shows, they clearly no longer know how to correctly promote her. She has major supply issues for albums outside UK and Australia. Plus she has suffered with very bad playlisting in Spotify, even in NMF lists. Do not get me wrong, BMG have done wonders for her to reinstate her status as a legend. But they have been sloppy in the last two eras. If she was in a major label, PP would be a worldwide hit.

I actually like Dance alone. The problem is the lyrics, the whole sentence I wanna lose my phone….

It s a pity that we do not have the exact first day numbers of all the tracks in Tension 1. My vague impression is that not all tracks were above 100k

It is a new album. And a surprisingly good one!!! I was so scared because I did not like any of the collaborations ! But the album is really fresh and many tracks manage to stir away from the generic style of most of her recent collaborations (Dance alone, MOM, even EOSN for me). I have the album on repeat non stop. I even started to enjoy Diamonds.

I agree. She had a lot of Momentum with PP and Tension but all the random collaborations afterwards have really killed this. Dance alone was partially based on Sia’s streaming power and all the following ones have followed a downward tendency. Don’t get me wrong : her profile is still very high, her fan base is strong, and she has gained a lot of acclaim around the industry. But chart wise, she no longer has any momentum. And even though I do like LCA, it lacks originality. PP and Tension were on another level ! That’s a very interesting theory for HOTN! It does sound a reasonable explanation for this mess!

Disappointing first day Spotify numbers. Can she perform better in Amazon ? Any update on this platform ? I think that it is more than clear that the general public does not respond very well to her dance club turn. I find LCA good and I did not get fed up with playing it non stop like with MOM and EOSN. But I am less optimistic about how the album perform given the lukewarm reception of the singles. She should stir away from this dance club sound for the next album I totally agree, she no longer performs on TV, it’s a pity. Without a performance, a television presence adds very little.

I totally agree. The Chorus are more generic than PP and Tension. But LCA is much better than My Oh My

I am in Switzerland, not in UK. It was in Spotify. I have started my aggressive streaming now She is 7 in Belgium. Not a lot but still something I guess. Isn’t there NMF Netherlands ?

Just heard it ! Such an improvement after MOM and Edge of Saturday Night. Sounds fresh and modern! It is no Padam but I am definitely on board and I think it has what is needed for a Top 20 chart placement.

I honestly do not think that this song is going anywhere chartwise. Oh Kylie girl, wrong sound and very wrong video’s director.

I hope that it will grow in the following weeks. But for me it was not the Kylie moment that I was hoping for given the buzz. Not nearly as enthusiastic as I was with Padam, Tension or Say Something. If this release leads to a fourth underwelming chart performance, i really think that Kylie should take a break and rethink the concept of the next album.

Padam and Tension had well appeared in multiple Apple Music Charts by the same stage of release. Tension was top 30 in the UK Apple Chart. Not sure that club dance music is the key to commercial success for Kylie. I would have prefered for her to have continued with a more electro Padamish sound. Having Said That, there are parts of EOSN I really enjoy and others that I find totally generic

Shows how wrong she was to not promote the song on UK and European TV during the summer. For artists like Kylie, promotion can still do wonders.
