I had high hopes for the ceremony. It was decent throughout but nothing spectacular. I was complety WTF at the BP screw up, as everyone else :lol: I really had hoped LLL would win BP, such a phenomenal film in every aspect. I adored Moonlight as well though so I can live with it winning, even though La La Land is the film everyone will still remember 10 years from now.

I really want to stay up and watch but I have to work in the morning so it isn't the best of ideas :lol:

The King Is Dead... should have won. Maybe the best thing she has ever done :wub: Timebomb is an oustanding choice too though!

Elle didn't even make the shortlist so we knew it wasn't going to get the nomination :lol: No really big shockers here, except for Amy Adams to some extent. I do think she deserved a nomination for Arrival. Her performance is so subtle and carries the film wonderfully. I actually think it's the better, more complex and layered of the two performances she gave this year. I expect that La La Land will sweep tbh. Best Picture, Director, Cinematography, Original Screenplay, Song and Score are pretty much locks I think. I don't think Stone and Gosling will win and the only thing that could get in the way of La La Land winning Best Picture is Moonlight at this moment. Haven't seen the latter but it is my most anticipated film of this awards season!

The fear among a lot of people around me is that, after the unexpected Brexit and Trump being voted next POTUS, anything can happen. Even though it is certain that he (or any major party) won't get a majority, people are still afraid of the effects of him and his party becoming the biggest in parliament. Another problem is that there are about 6 parties that are (for now) expected to obtain 10-25 seats, which will make it all the more difficult to form a well functioning government.

I adore this album. It's in my all time top 5, and voted for I'm Not Dead as it's still her best track imo. Other faves include Long Way To Happy, Who Knew, Dear Mr President, Nobody Knows, Cuz I Can, I Got Money Now (and the rest too :wub: )

Watched this last night and I quite liked it. Loved how it started, with the three monologues by the three women, I think they could have done more with that throughout though. The suspense wasn't built up as I had hoped, I didn't really feel the tension. Loved the unveiling at the end, I thought it was done quite well. Emily Blunt was excellent in this, with a role that could easily become boring/monotonous in the hands of the wrong actor.

That video is very 'Triangle', for the ones that have seen that film :lol:
