It's ok here still Pam, the north side of Manchester, had a bit more snow but nothing too bad, although it's worse on the east side. It's bad driving over the top into Yorkshire, but it doesn't take much for that journey to be a nightmare. Sue

Darius ready to charm!
That was a lovely video, thanks Meg. When I booked my tickets I remember the girl at the theatre said I was brave going all the way to Glasgow in December, but for some reason I just thought it would be very cold, I didn't think there would be snow. I must be very naive! Sue

Thanks Meg, that was a lovely little video. So sorry Paul that you're snowed in, you must be so frustrated. I don't think any of us thought that winter would start so early, I certainly didn't, and now I'm crosssing my fingers for the 17th. Where are you flying from Meg? On the news it said Gatwick airport is closed today and they are having trouble at Heathrow. When are your tickets booked for, have things time to clear? Sue

We've got our first lot of snow today, Manchester area, not too bad as yet. Daughter has had really bad snow falls and thunder and lighening at the same time up in the Newcastle area. She's been working from home for the past few days because the offices are shut. In Blyth they can't even get to the building as there's well over a foot of show in the car park which the caretaker can't get cleared! Sue

Mark has only worked there for a couple of years. He applied for this job when the paper he worked for were making lots of people redundant. At the time it seemed a safer option, but now nothing is safe anymore. Paula has worked for the authority for several years. There will be 8 jobs left at the end for them all to reapply for, but if you are pregnant, or on maternity leave, even if you are not the best candidate, your job is safe because, by law, you can't be made redundant, so that reduces the amount of jobs available to 4!! Not only is daughter facing redundancy in January, but son, who is in the process of buying a house and getting married next year, has just announced that he too may be facing redundancy in April! He works in PR for a housing organisation which looks after an area of local council housing and of course, they are funded by the local authority, who have had their funding reduced from the government, so it's a knock on effect. Beatles Songs for Darius?
Loved The Beatles early music, less so their later albums. As for Darius, I must be very biased because I just love the tone of his voice full stop. Sue
