  1. Well in that case any producer can credit their name as an artist if they produce the song, which I don't think is right.
  2. Am I the only one who doesn't like this uptown funk rubbish? It's a lazy song which doesn't really go anywhere. I disliked fleurs version and I think the actual version is even worse! And I also think it's stupid that producers like mark ronson and calvin harris think that they can put their own name down as an artist when they've only produced the song. Sorry for the rant lol.
  3. But she does sing the song. So why is it classed as James Newton Howard? He just did the score didn't he?

Oh, I thought it was out of the top 40 as Martin only said where the single was. Well it could drop down to about #30 by the end of the week.

I have to say I didn't expect it to drop out of the top 40 in it's 2nd week!
  6. I am mega surprised at how Ella's song is doing. I honestly thought it was peak around #11-15 especially since the radio airplay hasn't been high and I haven't seen any promotion. I don't even think it's that good, the chorus is catchy, but the verses let the song down. Edit: Just seen that she sang on Britain's Got Talent, that's why the song's doing well!
  7. I'm surprised people want it to be #1 as I think it's awful, nothing special at all!
  8. ^Well she needs another 3 solo to break the record!
  9. But that's not what the record was about. I'm sure Melanie C has the most #1 singles by a UK female as she has appeared on 12 #1 singles.
  10. Exactly, that's what i'm saying. The OCC is saying she's tied with Halliwells record, but she hasn't. I'm not taking the credit away from her, i'm just saying they're not solo #1s!
  11. But they're not solo #1s! So no-one has yet achieved what Geri achieved.
  12. Well they need to correct it then and just say 4 #1s, cos that's very confusing! As well, it's not picky, it's about facts.
  13. Nope, solo is 1 artist, not a duet, etc. So she's had 2 solo #1s and 2 #1s with other artists.
  14. Really annoyed me reading this: Congratulations to Rita Ora, who has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart today with I Will Never Let You Down. In doing so, Rita is now tied with former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell as the British female recording artists credited with the most solo UK Number 1s (four). Rita made her chart debut in February 2012 featuring on DJ Fresh’s Hot Right Now, which became the UK’s first drum ‘n’ bass track to reach Number 1. She topped the chart again in May of that year with R.I.P FT Tinie Tempah, and again in August 2012 with How We Do (Party). Yeah so she's had 4 SOLO #1 singles, if you say so Music Week!
  15. How many sales do you have for it AcerBen? Thanks!
  16. Acer, do you have the sales for All or Nothing by Cher?
  17. Acerben, do you have an estimate for Cher's All or Nothing? I've never found any sales for that song, but I would guess between 50-75k?
  18. Thanks for posting Gezza, like I said i've never had a problem with you and enjoy all your posts/threads, and I didn't mean to sound like I was being rude or demanding, but I just didn't agree with the result, and I was surprised that the song which at the time was one of the biggest dance songs of all time was overlooked. But I understand that everyone has their own opinions and although I don't agree with it, I didn't mean to sound rude or to cause offence.
  19. So I need to grow up because I have an opinion. Yeah I really need to grow up lol!
  20. It doesn't matter if it's just a thread. If Music Week did something similar, then people would contact them and they would change it, and people would be moaning about it on here. I'm just saying why do a top 100 best selling dance singles of the 90s when you're gonna ignore the biggest one?
  21. Well it doesn't take a genius to realise that Believe is a dance single, so there's no reason good enough to suggest why it shouldn't be included.
  22. Hang on! Ever since this thread started I knew who was going to be #1, until I actually saw who was #1! Cher's Believe is a dance song no matter what style/genre she normally sings, it is a dance song, so why is she not #1? I'm really disappointed that you chose to ignore certain songs Gezza. What was the point in doing this thread if you wasn't going to do it properly? I've never had a problem with you Gezza and always liked your threads/posts, but i'm disappointed in the result of this thread.
  23. I don't think this will do as well as you think. It is a bit repetitive and i'm not sure if radio will pick it up or not. It may reach the top 10, but I think it will peak around #11-#15.

Well no cos she only 'released' four singles.

Anyone know what number Jermain Jackman is, the winner of the voice? I've gotta feeling that the free online voting was a fix, cos I don't understand who would have voted for the weakest singer!
