Ricky Wilson and co. claim their second UK Number 1 album with Education, Education, Education & War. It’s always a gamble joining a reality TV show, particularly one involving signing, but for Ricky Wilson it seems to have paid off. The Voice coach and his band mates, the Kaiser Chiefs, have today emerged victorious over Sam Bailey, winner of rival show The X Factor, and have gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with Education, Education, Education & War. The Leeds band’s fifth album has been neck-and-neck with Sam’s The Power Of Love (Number 2) all week, and it was just 44 copies ahead of the X Factor star’s debut album on Friday’s Official Charts Company sales flash. However, Education… surged ahead at the eleventh hour, and finishes the week nearly 2,000 copies ahead of its closest rival.

And over the course of the next few weeks it will probably drop like a rock. It's only because of Mothers Day that it's selling well.

Well if there was such a thing, Cher's album would have gone like this: 3, 2, 1!

I'm sure The Spice Girls Greatest Hits is up to 450,000+ now!

Do you have the chart positions outside of the top 75 please? Do you also have sales of Cher's Closer To The Truth as well please? Thanks!

Vidcapper, do you have the chart run for Cher's I Hope You Find It with total sales and the total sales of Closer To The Truth as well? Thanks!

Vidcapper, do you have an estimate for Avril's Here's To Never Growing Up and her album please? Do you also have an estimate for Dido's Greatest Hits as well? Thanks!

Actually, there was talk about The Who wanting to have the song removed from Youtube and thinking about taking legal action. Well that's what I read. And plus, it doesn't take a genius to notice massive similarities to other songs.

Yeah they would when they seem to be 'ripping off' a number of songs. Their 3 most recent songs have already had copyright issues!

Is there no Friday update yet?

Vidcapper could you answer my question from yesterday please? Thanks!

Vidcapper, I know you won't be able to tell me for this week until Thursday but could you tell me the sales for Cher's and Avril's album for last week please? Thanks!

So, she was pretty high then lol.

But wasn't Leona high on iTunes last week too, but still entered at #25?

Yep, it went off during the break before they said who was in the bottom 2. ITV will not be happy that The X Factor which is struggling with viewers will have even less viewers this week as no-one on Freeview could see the end of the show. About the show, I thought Rebecca wasn't very good with that annoying repetitive song, which she has a habit of doing with her songs lol. I never rated her when she was on the show, as I don't think she's a very good singer. So i'm surprised the song is doing well on iTunes.

No, I don't think so.

Read the Friday update, the sales are on there for Gary.

No, I can't figure that one out lol. I tried to but I don't get it. Do you mean her sales are at 12,000?

Martin, could you please drop a hint on whether Dido has increased in the albums chart?

Am gutted about Dido's Greatest Hits. :(

Anyone know the chart position for Dido? Thanks!

Really gutted Dido isn't in the top 10. And really annoying that they advertised it on the advert as £7.99 in HMV and when I went in there they're selling it for £9.99 with the deluxe at £12.99 whereas the deluxe is £9.99 on Amazon!

Album Dido Greatest Hits (Deluxe Edition)

Is Dido's Greatest Hits on the iTunes chart?

Well James Arthurs album sold 23,000 last week and was #9 so Lady Gaga could sell 25,000 this week.
