Sir Paul McCartney lined up for Glee?
Totally agree with you, I can't see any need for him to get involved at all, its not as if he's short of a bob or two.

Sir Paul McCartney lined up for Glee?
Sir Paul McCartney is being lined up for the new series of Glee ... after sending a letter to the show's boss. Ryan Murphy, the brains behind the TV musical comedy, revealed Macca had sent him some songs to be included in the hit show. He said: "I received some fantastic mixtapes from Paul McCartney a couple of weeks ago. I thought I was being punked!" in a reference to a prank TV show. And added: "It came out of the blue in a package, handwritten, and it had two CDs and it said, 'Hi Ryan, I hope you will consider some of these songs for Glee.' "I had heard that he is a fan of the show but I was gobsmacked. Of course we are going to do something with him." The US comedy is a hit with teens and is E4's biggest TV show of the year with up to two million viewers. The new series starts next month. Source: Daily Mirror After Sir Paul appeared on last year's X-factor which I thought was a big mistake, looks like he is once again trying to get his music on the latest "flavour of the month" TV show. I am not sure he his doing the right thing, regardless of how popular the show is.

Red and Blue Albums Remastered
I remember buying the original releases, I still own a blue vinyl copy of 1967-1970. I had a casette version of 1962-1966, but gave it to a friend a long time ago and never got it back.

Red and Blue Albums Remastered
The Beatles’ original 1973 compilations, 1962-1966 (‘Red’) and 1967-1970 (‘Blue’) have been digitally remastered for worldwide CD release on October 18 (October 19 in North America). The first Beatles compilations to be released after the band’s 1970 disbandment, the popular ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ collections each feature a selection of singles and album tracks written by the band’s members. ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ have been remastered by the same dedicated team of engineers at EMI Music’s Abbey Road Studios responsible for remastering The Beatles’ original UK studio albums, carefully maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the original analogue recordings. The result is the highest fidelity the catalogue has seen since its original release. Source: http://www.thebeatles.com/

Mojo to offer vinyl covermount
With CD covermounts a familiar sight on the front of music magazines, Bauer Media's Mojo is turning back the clock - by offering a premium edition with a vinyl LP featuring cover versions of songs from the Beatles' Let It Be album. The 10,000-copy limited edition, which coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' final album, includes covers by Beth Orton, Judy Collins and Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson. It will be priced at £12.99, compared with the usual issue price of £4.50. Mojo also features an interview with Paul McCartney revisiting the albums he made in the wake of the Beatles' split. The Mojo editor-in-chief, Phil Alexander, said: "The Mojo vinyl edition is our way of celebrating the rebirth of vinyl which we've seen in recent years. Essentially, we created an incarnation of the magazine that we wanted to buy ourselves so it was something of a labour of love." He added: "In terms of the album itself, we hand-picked the acts and they all paid tribute to the enduring power of the Beatles by providing new perspectives on a set of classic tunes." Mojo is the biggest-selling music magazine in the UK, with an average monthly sale of 91,678 in the first six months of this year. The vinyl edition will be available from WH Smith, HMV and selected UK record shops. It goes on sale on Thursday 26 August. Source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/aug/2...es-covers-album

If it can be saved then it should, but not at all costs. We have lost a lot of our heritage in the name of progress, sometimes you have to say enough.

How did this ever reach the top 10?
There have been lots of unusual songs that have made the upper regions of the chart, but some just defy all logic. Would you believe that this song made number 2, only Rod Stewart's Sailing kept if from the top spot in 1975. I love the look on some of the Top of the Pops audience, thinking WTF! How can Noel Edmonds introduce this without laughing. I know the mid seventies was bad for music, but really. ROK6Y7ynQww What other songs got high in the chart that just seemed out of place?

Top 101 Beatles related songs of all time
I can't finish this list without Richard's input, but having looked through his list I am guessing the top 10 songs were as follows, in no particular order..... She Loves You I want to hold your hand Hey Jude Get Back Just Like Starting Over Silly Love Songs Wonderful Christmas Time Ebony and Ivory Say Say Say My Sweet Lord It's difficult to say in what order they might have come out, but I would think either She Loves You or I want to hold your hand might be the top 2.
