I liked all the new entries, especially Madness & Squeeze. The Jags were a very short lived band, think they only had 3 singles but really only 1 hit. Does anyone else think the song sounds like an Elvis Costello one?

Like you Rob, my knowledge of music circa 1989 is limited and from 1999 non existent, so I wouldn't be the best person for this.
  6. Well depending on where you look, some say no, not even close, and some say yes, way past 1 billion. Probably we will never know as back in the 1960's only paper records were kept not computerised like today, plus some Countries records are not as accurate as the UK or the USA. According to Wikipedia(I know I know but its a starting point for discussion) it says they have sold between 600 million and 1 billion. They show Elvis next on between 300m and 1b, followed by Michael Jackson with 300-750m, Abba on about 370m and Queen on 300m. Taking 1 billion as 1,000,000,000 this is the American definition ie. a thousand million, I suppose it is possible. Does anyone have any certified knowledge as to whether they have achieved this?

  12. I am pleasantly surprised that possibly 3 and maybe 4 might make the top 10, plus all the others could make the top 40. As you rightly say, anyone could have and probably has already bought the albums either on Vinyl (like me) and CD (like me), and it must be mostly them that are once again buying the new updated version. I must own up to buying Abbey Road and Sgt Pepper today :)

That was Billy Elliot, you twat.
  14. The Nazi party had some good policies too, like building Autobahns across Germany and building Volkswagen beetles that people could afford, oh and what were some of their other ones, oh I remember racism, totalitarianism, antisemitism, anti-communism, and world domination. Sounds like the BNP to me. Crazy Chris you are some guy.

  20. Why all the negative comments on bj in the chart forum about the Beatles CD's being re-issued, comments like "my worst nightmare", some people are unbelievable. Its not as if the Beatles are banned, if people want to buy albums by the greatest act ever, then it is a free country last time I looked. It comes across as petty minded, actually bring some competition to the current dull charts. Its only a pity the singles weren't being re-released. I am surprised by some of the more respected posters being of this view ( no names) but you know who you are. :)
