Who will be #1 on this week's Singles chart?
Sorry, it's kinda off topic a bit but is it right that OMD's single is released next week? The album is already out though. I like it  Sister Marie Says:

Love the video and he's looking gorgeous :cheer: Really hope he can get a hit with this, he deserves it after the way he's been left on the shelf for so long

iTunes Chart: October 2010 (II)
Most people hear a song more than once before they decide they like it enough to buy. He has had very little promotion or radio play so I would say most of the XF audience have see/heard his single only once and add that to them being taken by surprise as it isn't the Joe they voted for and I think you may have your answer. Weigh up the amount of promo Olly Murs has had against that given to Joe, clearly Syco have decided where their priorities lie. Nothing new, for various reasons Sony/Simon are not interested in investing in Joe as an artist. However, there is life after Sony for artists who come to public attention through the show providing they have the talent and can carve out a career so I won't write him off just yet although it isn't looking very good. As far as the West End goes, he doesn't automatically have the qualities needed, time will tell.... but he has some very obvious disadvantages. Still that's pie in the sky at this point in time I think.

You can't just wander into the West End because your pop career fails, he may not be good enough for musical theatre. He's about 5'1" tall, might have a bit of a problem finding suitable roles at that height. Can he act? I've no idea.

iTunes Chart: February 2010
Haven't Jedward got a physical release on Wednesday? That will boost their sales  Oh please, please, let them fail to get a No 1 and get dropped as quickly as possible and we can forget all about them while they go and do their A levels or something. Tbh, the hype isn't resulting in them flying in at No 1 which was what was thought would happen. So far that tends to support the fact that they came 6th and were in the bottom two enough times showing the public at large don't actually have much time for them.

Worth watching for entertainment on a tv show. Yes they were but they entertained as they were so awful it was funny. It's no longer funny when people who have no singing talent top the music chart.

iTunes Chart: February 2010
Good!! They don't deserve success, they're useless. If they don't get a No 1 at this time of year straight off the back of the show the label will probably dump them quickly.

Thanks. Can't see Joe hanging on to the No2 spot this week personally. Terrible song choice. Complacency breeds contempt as they say - take note Mr Cowell

That's Joe dropping fast now too although his downloads were never as strong as his physicals. Anyone know how Alex B fared last year after the Christmas rush as a benchmark?

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR XMAS NUMBER 1.
The person who started this did so before the winner of XF was known so it's nothing to do with Joe personally. It's about breaking the hold of a monopoly who are churning out rubbish and not feeling they have to try! I'm afraid I am struggling to see what is so difficult to grasp about that for you. Don't you want more originality?

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR XMAS NUMBER 1.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR XMAS NUMBER 1.
RATM AT NO 1 :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: Awesome news. I know it has caused controversy but we are all music lovers here and the point for me at least is that a monopoly has been toppled - this can only be good for the industry and all of us music lovers no matter what our tastes. Variety is the spice of life as the old cliche goes! Happy Christmas

Predict Joe McElderry sales
300k. Joe was the best of a weak bunch this year and has been landed with a dire song even by XF standards. He's no Leon Jackson but he's a bit bland and ordinary - can't see the public being inspired somehow.
