  1. As she did with the X sessions in 2007-8, she seems to be recording with every other producer or duetting with every other artist but God only knows which of these will see the light of day.
  2. They're trying to make this go viral with dance moves and all, but I don't know if it'll work again
  3. https://watch.grammymuseum.org/videos/a-con...h-kylie-minogue I quite liked it - very little "cliched" stuff that she was spouting during the Tension release promo (Padam, tiktok, "what advice would you give your 18yo self?", etc.). If anything, in retro, it was fun listening to the scoops on how a lot of the songs came to be. Esp "Story" and "One more time". I had no idea Vegas High was finished that quickly! Overall, great interview.
  4. I can't wait for a (Potential) video to drop! I can see this going UK top 40 with the right kind of promo. It would've been easier if this dude was on the same label as Kylie's.

This isn't a comment on Bon Jovi's quality of music of anything - I just didn't think they were that big or relevant enough in the UK in 2024 to even have a midweek #1. I'd have expected a top 10 at best, falling to 20 by EOW. I for one didn't even know they had an album coming out.
  6. In the current form, it's certainly not dance'y enough to be added to a pride playlist or party. Get the remixes out soon! As someone pointed out (here or on SH), Peck isn't on Kylie's record label so they don't care enough to spend time/money on promo for the song (best case, a friendly tweet). Kylie looks like she did it for fun ( and for a slow streamer, to a new/country audience) so doubt there'll be any big promo. So yes, word of mouth and radio play are the only 2 avenues here. Kylie and her label are saving her promo appearances for when her solo stuff comes out.
  7. This is very good actually, given that the song is mostly credited to an artist, who, let's face it is rather obscure.
  8. I'm sure she'll perform this at next week's BST. Wonder who the special guest will be (I know I'd said Jake Shears earlier) but do wonder.... so that'll be good publicity. Given that radio is ageist, R1 may not play a "Kylie" song but hopefully they play this as a Diplo song featuring Kylie (much like the Weekend/ Madge song got R1 airplay)
  9. This! This Orville guy and his label seem more organised than Sia so hopefully remixes and all coming soon. Sia (and her label) probably know that she won't achieve high chart positions so they're ok with a slow trickle.
  10. I do like the song but it’s generic enough that it really needs a lot of visibility or a TikTok trend to get people to notice it. It’s no Padam (I’m not comparing it , but just saying that PP was a song so diff to what’s out there in the charts thaf people would just notice). This to me is like Anne Marie Unhealthy : country laced pop bop. Could go either way.

So I finally got around to hearing it. I love Raye, I still play her Rudimental song "Regardless" in addition to several others. But I'm sorry, this is is just narcissistic self indulgent mess. It would work well as a live medley but in today's "swipe culture" everything quick and fast generation, I don't see them investing in a song that changes sounds so suddenly.
  12. When do we get our first streaming update?
  13. I can imagine her performing with Jake shears as surprise guest at next weeks BST!
  14. Her chemistry with this Orville dude reminds me in a way of her chemistry with Jake Shears from scissor Sisters. At least it's definitely a nice collab, something I certainly wasn't expecting. I was thinking another "cold" Padam style banger.
  15. Drops another 19 to #40 this week on the US chart. I'm not sure what's going on, as her songs are on radio ALL THE TIME. Perhaps re-issue the album with the Barbie song?
  16. I honestly never imagined it would happen! Just amazing!
  17. So so agree on this one! Unless by some weird chart rule, it counts as a separate album entry and can get her another UK no1 album, I say let's just put Tension to rest and focus on the next era.
  18. Agree. I just wonder how easily discoverable it will be. Its not a series or anything, it's a one-off. Her record company is definitely doing the right moves Stateside.
  19. #21 I'm the most casual Dua Lipa fan but I came in here to say I quite liked the album. Houdini remains my absolute favourite, I just love how chunky the whole song is. And it seems to sound better now than it did in Nov! I'm also a fan of FF which apparently isn't everyone's favourite cup of tea.
  20. If she was going to be a feature/duet partner with a band to increase visibility, streams or sales, she at least could’ve done with someone way more relevant like Take That. I understand their biggest base is the UK but it’s better than NKOTB who aren’t even that big in the USA or anywhere, and aren’t even big steaming acts.
  21. So, I just heard "In the Night" on Spotify and I don't hear Kylie's vocals. So looks like the duet wasn't meant to be on the album and someone leaked the "surprise" by accident. I didn't mind the song, it's got a nice 80s pop vibe to it, but totally forgettable. I just hope this wasn't one of the "big name" collabs she was talking about! For those who asked about NKOTB - they were huge around the Kylie PWL time (approx 1988 - 1991). My favourite is the 1990 song "Step by step". I still listen to it to this day for the feelgood vibes.
  22. Iconic, I kind of had a feeling it would become a hit but I didn't expect at this level - I mean no1 UK radio airplay, etc. etc. Amazing! Just baffles me that it didn't crack the Hot 100, especially when, at least as a Kylie fan, I felt she was "everywhere" in the US promoting (I don't want to convert this thread into a post mortem, mind).
  23. Well, didn’t Sigala say the same a few yrs ago and other than an album feature, I don’t think much happened.
  24. Absolute classic Funny anecdote: back in 2001’ish, I’d played Kylie’s followed by the Steps’ version to some mates who’d never heard of either artist or song. They thought Kylie’s was the newer version. Meaning to say - they were surprised the original was a decade old as they said it sounded fresher than the remake! That sums up how I feel 34 years later - absolutely fresh, absolute classic and the 4 singles from ROL are perhaps the best ever 4 singles from any pop album. Infact I almost feel bummed that the media and Kylie herself consider songs like Head and now PP as her signature songs when this and ATL should be it. Whilst she lost a lot of teeny bopper fans in the process, this became the start of her gay fan base and made her a dependable bankable “pink pound” artist. In the long run, that paid off so much more than doing a 3rd PWL pretty pop album that would have killed her career too like most PWL artists. The video was beyond fab - she looked stunning and so confident. You could tell she was beginning to take a few things in her control and no longer wanted to be a puppet
