  1. I remember before the release of the album, she did talk about how diff it is to Fever, something along the lines of "and we needed to slow down after Fever". But I don't recall her talking about BL or KMO since release (she seems to retro every other album afaik).
  2. I was talking to a friend (casual Kylie fan) and he asked me a question that I'm not sure I know the answer to. Has Kylie herself ever addressed the underperformance of Body Language given all the hype and expectations?
  3. Oh my that is amazing for what seems like a very low cost side project. Kylie soon getting an additional 10mil streams to her credit!!
  4. The whole album still sounds amazing! 2003 was a great year both for Dannii's Neon Nights and its younger sister - Holly Valance "State of mind". These 2 albums made up for my disappointment in Kylie's Body Language.
  5. I agree, it took me a while to come to terms with the "new world", but in 2024 I guess the 2 big things are streaming #s and sales. No one, rather record companies don't seem to care about chart positions (singles chart) or number of weeks on the chart (album). That would explain why BMG is trying to push Kylie so much in the US given its music listening population is easily 10-15x the UK and that means more streaming #s for Kylie. I saw a youtube video with Kylie's albums streaming numbers and in less than 6mo, Tension is already like more than half of Disco.
  6. which primarily is the UK and Australia. And the UK is her biggest market by far - back then and today. So a little "Thanks for all the support this country has given me" etc. etc. wouldn't have hurt. An extra 10-15 seconds
  7. Overall loved the perf and the montage as well that highlighted everything - the #1 album record, Glastonbury, the tenure of her career, etc. She could've at least given a nod to the British love/support (how they literally adopted her early on in her career) in her acceptance speech. I understand it was very adhoc and spontaneous and not as rehearsed (and boring) as her 2011 ARIA Hall of Fame awards, but still, a nod of gratitude would've been nice (vs the cliched "brits 2024" blah blah) The perf was amazing, stellar. But rather shocked there was practically nothing from the PWL era and a blink-and-miss Confide instrumental info. Sounds like she's been so busy and exhausted from the residency she just rehashed the same set of songs.
  8. I need to keep an eye out on that now. I love a good virtual catfight between strangers defending 2 celebs who don't give a f*ck about either party lol
  9. Honestly, I'm kind of amazed, and feel sad for them as well!
  10. The more I'm hearing it, the more I'm loving the song. YES - it's basic NO - it's not "lead single" material. YES - production seems bare minimum and choppy at times. BUTTTTTTTT............ it's so simple, catchy and easy on the ears. And a short song too. What more does one look for in a melody?!
  11. Ultimately, it's the commercial gain. Sure, after the senti touchy feely hugs and montage and all - will Kylie's back catalogue (even if it's a GH), streaming numbers and Tension all improve on the chart is all that counts.
  12. I’m still shocked at such low streaming numbers for confide in me. Right ahead of Sexercise
  13. I wonder what those teaser photos of Kylie in the big Sia wig are.
  14. THIS Had it not been for Vegas, she could’ve at least tried promo’ing in other EU counties, esp wirh PP release aligning with Pride month
  15. Most non-Kylie fans, or the casual music fans seem to love Dance Alone than HOTN, that's seen as a very rich textured "Kylie song", so to speak appealing to a fairly small audience.
  16. Since moving out of the UK, she really seems to have deprioritised her biggest market which is a shame. She's so focused on USA USA USA
  17. I still love the song! Such a basic tune but a nice universal hummable one!
  18. Regarding miming : certainly not to a studio version, but I’d be fine if she sang to pre recorded vocals like she’s done before (like in TOTP post 2000), especially IF her and the label’s goal is to attract more casual music listeners to her music through booking her for live perfs at events.
  19. We like it and that’s fine. But we just have to live w the reality that her live voice may not incentivise the casual music listener or awards viewer to listen pronto
  20. That’s the problem though - the few ever times she gets to perform on us tv, she sounds so incredibly raw and nasal. Not saying she doesn’t sound nasal in UK TV perfs but they’re more used to it as they’ve seen her sing from 1988. Whilst I love PP, I don’t think last nights perf would want to make any casual fan go and listen to the song
  21. My guess is that Kylie will do an Adele in 2024: have a pop up residency (same set list and all) in EU, UK and Oz: limited run and limited audience. Didn’t Madge do one in 2019 as well? Edit: Adele announced only Munich, but you get my drift
  22. I get that but Beyoncé’s new song made both NMF UK and Hot Hits UK the same day! (Today)
  23. I don't see it on Hot Hits UK and gone from UK NMF :(
  24. My sweet SmileyKylie, here you are (latest SH update): 📈 Spotify Update “Dance Alone“ 💃🪩: Week 1 — 3.673.301 14 /2— 440.316 TOTAL — 4.113.617 STREAMS I think it's doing very well for a song that had no hype, no nothing and just dropped. To have touched 4M streams in just over a week is amazing. Key now is what exactly the label (labels) has/ve planned to keep the momentum going. Seeing as the streaming numbers are doing well, they hopefully have something up their sleeve.
  25. Fact check: she had only one #1 in Australia (Locomotion) prior to the UK. Lucky onwards, both countries got her releases more or less at the same time (and yes, I'm aware that Certain was an Oz #1 and not a UK no1). I'm not bagging Australia, in fact I love Australia (esp Melbourne!) but if you look at Kylie's Aus profile post the first few releases (mid 1988 to pretty much the Confide in Me era), there was a lot of negativity and backlash around her in Oz. I'm not saying the UK media was overly generous and loving to her, but they were far more reasonable, supportive and positive during the post Neighbours and SAW phases. The DeCon era, esp IP and the Nick Cave duet started some Oz love and it was I think the Parlo era onwards which cemented it. She herself has said on several interviews that she always did hold that tiny grudge during the early years. (this was a BBC R1 interview when she was promoting her 1994 album, I was surprised too at the time as I'd never known her to be so candid).
