  1. I get slated everytime I say this but to the general public, she just isn't an album or a GH seller. And esp post world of downloads, at most people would download a song or 2 (and now , stream) than an entire album.
  2. No Rick Astley duet and no Xmas medleys please! Given all her commitments with Vegas and all, I suspect she'll repeat the Leicester R2 and O2 gigs (with a few tweaks, like maybe a new perf of Vegas High). These shows are really for the casual/non-fans and not the core so may as well go with what's new or the tried and tested staple. I hope she does the TOTP ROL 2004 medley.
  3. Does even Kylie know she’s got a 3rd single out?! lol . It’s BMG and they have so far done a great job balancing everything going on this yr so I trust they have something up their sleeve.
  4. I want a ROL reissue and a massive promo campaign to get it to beat its original #9 peak
  5. Seeing as it's releasing in mid feb, i wonder if it has a chance of top 10 again.
  6. The problem is that performing on these kind of shows does nothing for both her brand or the album. At least I hope she was paid well. Wish her team would get her the right spots (provided the said shows or events are willing to have her).
  7. LAFS because it's a Kylie-DNA song (like Spinning Around). It was joyous, current (the whole filter disco thing), great catchy tune and had the "Kylie" element in it. I remember being at a bar with a friend who doesn't listen much to pop music - as the song opened - he casually remarked "this sounds like a Kylie song" and was surprised when I told him it was! IYE to me is a good solid pop song (like Head) that Kylie just happens to sing.
  8. The record label managed PP and Tension release strategies so well, I wonder why they're screwing up on, or rather, neglecting the HOTN release? Or, is it that the Tension era overexceeded their expectations in terms of sales and they'll just let this era die, and get whatever additional bucks they can with Extensions and the Audience With? I say "overexceeded": am aware it had a short chart run but the fact that they haven't even discounted the price just yet seems to say something.
  9. Honestly, I don't think this promo will help much at all. It's not like she's performing at the superbowl halftime
  10. Agree. In the 80s, she was everything - magazine covers, music shows, she was the talk of town. The 00s gave her chart success, the cred, good reviews, etc. etc. but certainly not the kind of domination she had with Neighbours + SAW in the 80s
  11. Seeing the money they've spent thus far for the album - the 2 videos, the visualisers, etc., I reckon we'll get a fairly good video for this too. Infact, soemthing tells me this was already shot months ago..who knows, probably the same time as PP or Tension?
  12. So very happy about HOTN. Whilst it may not be a crossover hit like PP, it's also the most "Kylie" song on the album and now that she's getting love from the media and public, might as well dish out what she does best. Hopefully we have a video soon and some kind of promo (albeit remotely from Vegas). I'm hoping for a top 20. You never know if they play the cards right.
  13. Seeing Jay's great analysis, the Ellie Goulding chart "run" was the biggest shocker of them all!
  14. yay, that's great! Heaven knows I've been streaming the sh*t out of this album. Other than Love Train and surprisingly Padam, there isn't a single song I skip. I skip PP only because I played it to death in the summer and I can't wait to get to HOTN.
  15. Speaking of streaming.... I downloaded Tension offline on my Spotify in case I need to listen to it when out jogging, hiking, etc. However, when I play it at home and am connected to the internet, I presume streaming still counts, correct?
  16. If nothing else, she can hopefully shoot videos for forthcoming singles, or any background stuff for Audience With. I recall during the X era when she shot videos for Wow and IMA at the same time in LA, and was talking about how much it's generally cheaper to shoot vids in LA than London. Back to new music/songs, I really think she needs to do a Lana or Taylor and release as many as possible when she has the backing of a record label like bmg, and when the market is as it is now (if it this way for the next 5 yrs if not decade, I can easily see her getting a uk #1 album with every release unless it goes head to head with a major star. And she can win there also as evidenced by Disco)
  17. I bet SH is having a meltdown lol
  18. Well Rick needs ALL the help he can get. Kylie doesn't! BMG are well aware there's always a fan base who will buy anything for a 1st week total of 50K'ish/plus.
  19. Just saw this article on the Official charts website...where is Kylie in the YTD album charts? https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/t...-so-far__38996/
  20. At this point, in the UK at least - a 3rd single could help keep sales going (in addition to price drops and reissues). I really doubt the Audience With will help much. Vegas definitely wont. Other than a few headlines here and there.
  21. I'm hearing rumours that Kylie is back in London. Rehearsals for Audience With, perhaps?
  22. I' m always hoping one day they re-release ROL and it outpeaks the original #9!
  23. I don't think any business would be happy to see their product fall out of the chart just because there is a planned (conjecture) re-release. I guess BMG saw the signs that everyone else is referring to and didn't want to invest any more money on a product the casual buyer won't buy, and no amt of promotion will help the streaming generation. I still think they're an amazing label and right for Kylie.
  24. I suspect it will fall out of the 75 next week...but return right after Audience With. I don't see the 3rd single having a big impact and Kylie herself doesn't seem to bothered as she's busy with Vegas.
