  1. From the early Charlene era, "GTBC" and "Wouldn't change a thing" are my 2 top favourites. And perhaps "Turn it into love" would be a 3rd.
  2. Lucky, obvs. I didn’t even know Locomotion was her first ever single. In fact I heard the original 1987 Aussie release that was less poppy only in 1994!!
  3. Hate to rain on others' parade but hated it then, hate it even more now.
  4. The reviews have all been glowing. In a lot of ways, critics are finally coming around to admitting her living legend status and how she’s managed to sound so fresh and current through so many years and generations and still packs in arenas.
  5. I wonder if she has any promo lined up for the tour. Like the odd interview or something.
  6. I definitely see her getting a 6th decade with a UK no1 album. We're kind of half way through this decade, so even if the label slaps another GH album with 120 variants, a #1 is assured! :P Unless the album chart undergoes a massive change.
  7. Seattle venue was almost full. I read that 9K out of 10K seats were sold, and it definitely looked packed to the rafters, so to speak. Without sounding over aspirationa: I was hoping SF would sell out so much they'd announce a 2nd date. KM's team probably thought the same which is why they had a 3 day gap between SF and the Seattle show. Regardless, I'm very happy at the massive success of her arena tour, and at this stage of her career. I see her again in Manchester!
  8. @aeroco : curious, which are the “less popular USA dates” you’re referring to? I thought overall she sold all venues well?
  9. I'm really hoping she changes up the setlist for the UK leg. And more nostalgia, less DJ Alok and EOSN. I'd assume more generations will show up for her UK tours unlike NA where it's largely LGBT who would lap up the latest dance tune.
  10. Promise this isn't meant to be a Kylie vs Madonna thread. My mate asked me the other day and these are the ones that came to mind: only female artist with at least a #1 album in 5 consecutive decades Two million selling songs in the UK (Madonna hasn't had any, or just 1. Am I wrong)? CGYOOMH and LAFS broke airplay records in the UK, Madonna has never had a "breaking airplay" kind of song Not exactly more, but Kylie has almost had the same no. of top 10 albums like Madonna.
  11. Basketball game, not (American) football. Football season runs Sept-Feb. The reason this wasn't known back then is because they didn't know if the team would make the playoffs and if the playoff game (they play 7 in each divisional round) would be scheduled "home" or "away" (when the game is scheduled in the opponent's base).
  12. I caught her in the Seattle show (I was supposed to in Vancouver, didn't work out for other reasons). Great show overall. She was very overwhelmed by the arena size crowds in the USA, I don't think she'd ever have imagined she'd be filling up arenas at this stage in her career. she was emotional and speechless at times. Song request was Tightrope. I saw banners asking for "All i see" and "In my arms" but for some reason, she elected to do RBW instead. Odd choice. Overall, the concert was great. Plusses: balanced setlist, great crowd that knew a lot of her songs, some songs sounded great live (like the DJ Alok song, EOSN, etc.) and this is the first time I'm seeing Padam live, and it truly is an iconic song! HOTN is also great live. Not so good's: They've cut corners on the sets. It looked a bit cheapo to be honest, but then again she's such a charmer she doesn't need fancy sets. I wasn't a fan of all the fashion choices, esp the last but one act (Head, ATL, etc.). Support act - Rita Ora is truly sh*t, no wonder even Kylie didn't bother thanking her or inviting her on stage at the end. All in all, a great day and I'm sure Kylie has the confidence she can come back to the US for more promotional work or touring.
  13. Good for talentless she-man Ellie Goulding. She milked the Calvin cow whilst it was still giving!
  14. THIS! When she's working with every other dj in town, I wonder why she isn't going back to Calvin. At least a UK top 40 hit will be guaranteed!
  15. Sorry to be debbie downer here but she's looking more plastic than usual here. She needs to work on her makeup to not look so glossy.
  16. I think that’s the first time I’ve heard K use the F bomb lol
  17. I love it. It's lite throwaway pop, not the most memorable but catchy enough - exactly the stuff that has consistent streams these days as it reaches out to a broader audience. In a way, I think of this as a mini Dance Alone (not tune wise, but concept wise). DA too still pulling in 35-40K listeners a week which is amazing.
  18. Wonder if he'll grace one of her S American shows!
  19. Hello LM gang, I don't post here very often, and this is a bit of a random post. "No" (one of my favourite LM songs) played randomly on my spotify, and there were the 2 lines ( see bolded) in the 2nd verse that didn't make sense to me. Do I interpret it as "You're the only one remaining on my list (of people to go after/get even with)"? I was sick of being a prisoner, living under your thumb (thumb) So now it doesn't kill me, better hurry up and run (run) I like to try to dim it, but I rise up like a phoenix So when all is said and done (done) And you're the only one I know, completely random post but I've been thinking about this line since yesterday (hadn't paid attention to it all these years).
  20. I watched some clips and loved it. Yes, “basic” but that’s kind of head I wanted. Not every show has to be a Vegas style spectacle like Aphrodite was. I can’t wait to sing along to “good as gone” Wonder if she’ll make any changes to the USA set list?
  21. Good As Gone Someone For Me Taboo Kiss Bang Bang Midnight Ride (ft Orville Peck & Diplo) Hello Lights Camera Action
  22. Good thing is these days, it’s not unusual to have a 2 year old song (or even a 20yo song) suddenly become a hit. Ask Imogen heap!
  23. Not "all she cares about" But she's a savvy business woman (which explains why she's remained so relevant all these decades, the longevity is remarkable for a pop artist) and is aware of importance of both commercial and chart positions. So, the record label is able to see the biz opportunity in continuing to invest in her.
  24. Lights Camera Action.... getout!
