  1. Indeed. It's the quintessential Kylie pop song I've been waiting for since Fever album!
  2. Is her UK streaming numbers (or overall, I suppose) for Tension higher than it was for Disco? Honestly, the general reviews, publicity, etc. really seems to point to monster sales or at least a Uk #1 album. I'm hoping top 20 in the US
  3. So what this is Kylie and Spotify UK thing?? Some promo or interview or is she playing her album?
  4. Thanks buddy! I have to resist playing Vegas High on repeat then lol. It’s so damn catchy
  5. I’m just pleasantly surprised at all the publications giving this album 4/5 plus. She’s really gotten the Fever era goodwill with this album hasn’t she?
  6. Folks - I'm a bit of a newbie on streaming. I've had the album streaming on repeat play all day on spotify. Is that ok or should I play another artist/song after one entire play of the album for each play to count?
  7. “Vegas High” is everything! I expected a light weight song after the clip she shared on insta when announcing thr residency but wow what a song. Loved the album overall!
  8. Lovely interview and so nice to hear her recognise UK's contribution to her success and legacy. She is an honorary Brit!
  9. I honestly find it puzzling. ROL, the debut album and EY are all IMHO way better than the likes of Aphrodite.
  10. CarolHoney my favourite honey, I will answer this in 3 ways: 1. From a public sentiment point of view, I don't think it's made a big difference as the fan base for a 55yo will get smaller and smaller as she and us grow older and older. I don't see too many new kids jumping on the Kylie bandwagon (they may on a song, like jumping on the PP bandwagon) 2. From a critics point of view, she's GOTTEN HER FLOWERS! I'm seeing so many publications and critics who wouldn't give her a look earlier, but are now eating humble pie and admiring her longevity and skills to reinvent and stay relevant. Plus, helps that she's so professional, never a bad word to say on anyone and keeps public responses and images "safe", that she does't have a bad rep in the industry. 3. From a chart or sales perspective - she earned her flowers years, rather decades ago. Her bouquet will never be as big as Madonna's or Taylor's, but she'll have a consistent fan base who will buy and listen and enjoy her albums and concerts.
  11. Rolling Stone gave her a 4/5 and a glowing review. Reviews and word of mouth all positive.... how times change! I could never imagine Rolling Stone going near a Kylie album in 1991!
  12. That was her goal with this album, she said so herself that rather than working on a theme, just "service the song" as she put it. It's sounding amazing based on the 2 singles, live "Hold on to now" and clip of "Vegas High" I've heard. I was hoping it's got a richer Fever sound than Aphrodite as I wasn't a big fan of Aphrodite :( (other than the first 2 singles and Heartstrings)
  13. Phew thank God ! I don’t like wow as I always thought it was a bit too frivolous and sounds even worse live.
  14. Thanks Liam! When is she retiring kids and Wow? I’m bored. Did anyone join her for Kids?
  15. Someone pls post the links to on Uk residents! Rick astley wearing a Kylie tee - can it be more fabulous ??
  16. As much as she calls herself a proud Aussie, and I'm sure she is - she's at her best, most genuine and happiest when she's in the UK. Somewhere inside, she knows that the UK is the one country that stood by her thick and thin and despite a certain amount of negativity from the press and critics through the years, overall the UK has always made her feel more at home than Australia ever has or can.
  17. Caught up with The One Show On one hand, loved all the publicity for the R2 show tomorrow. On the other hand, the interview was so disjointed.... the Scott Mills playing TOMP and OANLT was so random.... I was hoping they'd touch more on her legacy, 5 decades of success, etc. etc. but the questions just seemed so random and adhoc; even the questions were so out of order. They went from Vegas to "what do you do to unwind" so randomly. Also, weird how she walked out - both hosts were expecting a hug and had their arms extended but she instead just sat herself on the couch on the other end :D
  18. Oh dear! I hope they did their usual fawning on her chart success and longevity and all though
  19. I cant wait to hear all about it. The hosts always admire her and it shows
  20. I'm probably the only one that isn't caring too much as the peak is what counts for singles these days. And to say a 55yo in her 35th yr of music scored 2 top 20 hits is amazing. The record books won't go on about how said 2nd single fell 19-44 in its 2nd week! :) Come to think of it, falling out of the top 40 seems so much better than if it had made 39 where the narrative would be "last week's highest new entry falls a massive 20 places to 39". I just hope they pull out all the stops for single #3 so at least it has a chance of a top 40 and not do this 59p reduction or extended mix releases in a staggered logic-less way.
  21. I see your point but all over, album sales are so low these days (and singers don't make a whole lot from album sales anymore as it's all streaming), that I'm ok with a poor chart run as long as it hits #1! No one talks much about sales these days as they still do about chart positions
