  1. That's impressive. I was hoping for a 11 or 12 but 14 still isn't anything to feel bad about.
  2. As much as I 'd hate for Kylie to get dropped from any playlist and would want the whole world playing a Kylie song all day long...... but with the whole PP - UK radio airplay story: it's comforting to know that R1 isn't as relevant as they thought they were - rather ,I thought they were as well. There'd be times I'd wonder "oh no, poor klyie not getting playlisted by R1. Flop single" kind of thing. The week she gets dropped from R1 and moves down to B list on R2 is the same time frame she tops the UK airplay.
  3. I'm surprised it hasnt picked up in Germany yet!
  4. Yep, that’s what I meant: since 2000/parlo comeback when she showed Pete and the world that she can make a fabulous pop record without the PWL sound. Even prior to spinning around when it was announced that she as making a pop comeback after the “indie days”, i remember Pete bragging on telly that “of course she’d choose us to produce her big comeback”.
  5. It's no PP. PP was for a lot of reasons and luck and timing and all - a MOMENT. Doubt any Kylie song can repeat the success and hype that PP brought. That said, it's a strong follow-up and will hopefully convince the borderline fans to cross the line.
  6. I compared GOMW to Tension earlier in that , they don't sound the same but they have more than just 1 hook. In Tension - a bit of it reminded me of Rita Ora "ritual", a bit reminded me of Jazzy's Giving Me, there was a bit of Kylie's dreamy voice and stuff going on..... just a perfect cocktail of so many hooks.
  7. Yes, I read that too. Where I was going with my earlier comment is that - it doesn't seem Tension is into creating a theme or amazing Kylie moments like Dancing and SS but focused more on commercial appeal and catering to what's hot on the chart at the moment.
  8. You never know - it could just very well sneak into the top 10 again come Friday!
  9. Only after her 2000 comeback and when he realised she can truly make it without him, and that she was as instrumental in their success as they were for her. Till then he was always mean and bitter and thought she’d be nothing without him. Now he’s just riding on her success.
  10. Aah yes GOMW did polarise fans somewhat!! Tension kind of seemed like a clone of several current pop songs but has that Kylie signature as well. Overall if these 2 songs are anything to go by, looks like the theme is generic club bangers but with the “Kylie sound”. Agree that SS is one of her strongest songs to date
  11. I hear ya! Not sure if the record label wants to release a single centred around K wanting to masturbate lol
  12. I'm confident Kylie will be top 15. :)
  13. Agree. We happen to be Kylie fans and are plugged in to everything-Kylie and so assume PP has taken over the USA. But I live here and I haven't heard anywhere. Even shows like "Watch what happens live" is a very niche show w niche audience. I suspect PP will ensure Tension goes top 20 but that's about it. Having said that - I'm happy to stand corrected if indeed, PP takes off on radio starting official radio add date.
  14. It's interesting.... with the earworm song that PP was, and the Pride angle, I would've thought they'd have cashed in to make it go guns ablaze and fire up the UK chart but looks like BMG's strategy is more a slowburn. I'm sure they have their reasons and I'm fine as long as it's in the top 20 and being played on chart countdown shows. Just interesting strategy, that's all.
  15. I finally CAVED IN and heard it.... and OH MY FAAK its serving fabulousness to the high freakin' heavens! I don't even think I fell in love with PP this instantaneously. Tension is honestly like this relentless club banger that's a mishmash of sorts, got so many hooks and clearly aimed at more than just Kylie's fans (aka - not the usual emotopop). The song is so amazing, so different from what I had imagined having heard that 10sec snippet. Beyond incredible! Last time I fell in love with a Kylie song on 1st listen was "get outta my way". I just hope this also becomes a sizeable hit and gets sufficient radio airplay that it boosts the album's popularity/sales. Definite winner.
  16. That Absolute mix is so absolutely amazing - esp the middle breakdown part.
  17. Totally. Not because it's an amazing-amazing song (like Say Something or ATL) but it's a defining moment - it started a trend, it's got a catchy title, everything.
  18. As the saying goes, you can't fake authenticity. In the early years, you could see the hosts having that patronising "oh, she's back in the studio" kind of look as they intro'ed her on TOTP. But by the Parlo era, you could see the respect and admiration on the hosts' faces (even if they weren't fans of her music) when intro'ing K.
  19. PP to me will go down as an iconic moment given the song, video, viral effect, the look, etc. etc. We could be the one is really another nice happy Minogue pop song. Nothing spesh. I'd honestly already forgotten about it until I saw this poll, pippa sweetheart!
  20. Depends on the week of course but I'd say 65K'ish at least to guarantee a top 10.
  21. Given ROL is viewed by Kylie fans as one of her all time best (me included, best 4 singles from a pop album ever) - if ROL were to be re-released (a la Impossible Princess), would it outpeak its original #9? I believe it would as album sales are low. All the record label has to do is put out a bunch of CDs, Vinyls, etc. and have Kylie endorse it herself.... all it would need is about 10K copies to score a top 5 on a quiet week.
  22. She's done so many it would be unfair to just list one, so I'm going by eras! Kylie - 1988 She only did like 2 for Locomotion and Je Ne Sais.. I'll go with Je Ne sais. The locmotion one was awful! Enjoy Yourself / EFY: Loved Wouldn't change a thing ROL: Loved Shocked - the confidence, the swagger wow wow wow LGTI and GH: None! The choreography was awful this era DeCon phase: Confide in me preview (when she opened TOTP lying on the sofa - "Hi, I'm Kylie, live and exclusive on TOTP"). Amazing! Everything else was downhill from there Parlo till 2006 when TOTP folded: Spinning around definitely - so joyous live! Slow IBIY The ROL medley and BTDYK (2004) I didn't care much for the other BL and Fever perf's as they didn't translate well on the small stage. She sounded awfully nasal on the CGYOOMH
  23. Where can I hear TENSION?? I so badly want to hear it.
  24. BMG were (in a good way) put in this new situation where they have a massive hit single and they've responded so well. Kudos BMG!
