  1. I finally CAVED IN and heard it.... and OH MY FAAK its serving fabulousness to the high freakin' heavens! I don't even think I fell in love with PP this instantaneously. Tension is honestly like this relentless club banger that's a mishmash of sorts, got so many hooks and clearly aimed at more than just Kylie's fans (aka - not the usual emotopop). The song is so amazing, so different from what I had imagined having heard that 10sec snippet. Beyond incredible! Last time I fell in love with a Kylie song on 1st listen was "get outta my way". I just hope this also becomes a sizeable hit and gets sufficient radio airplay that it boosts the album's popularity/sales. Definite winner.
  2. That Absolute mix is so absolutely amazing - esp the middle breakdown part.

    LOL!
  4. Totally. Not because it's an amazing-amazing song (like Say Something or ATL) but it's a defining moment - it started a trend, it's got a catchy title, everything.
  5. As the saying goes, you can't fake authenticity. In the early years, you could see the hosts having that patronising "oh, she's back in the studio" kind of look as they intro'ed her on TOTP. But by the Parlo era, you could see the respect and admiration on the hosts' faces (even if they weren't fans of her music) when intro'ing K.
  6. PP to me will go down as an iconic moment given the song, video, viral effect, the look, etc. etc. We could be the one is really another nice happy Minogue pop song. Nothing spesh. I'd honestly already forgotten about it until I saw this poll, pippa sweetheart!
  7. Depends on the week of course but I'd say 65K'ish at least to guarantee a top 10.
  8. Given ROL is viewed by Kylie fans as one of her all time best (me included, best 4 singles from a pop album ever) - if ROL were to be re-released (a la Impossible Princess), would it outpeak its original #9? I believe it would as album sales are low. All the record label has to do is put out a bunch of CDs, Vinyls, etc. and have Kylie endorse it herself.... all it would need is about 10K copies to score a top 5 on a quiet week.
  9. She's done so many it would be unfair to just list one, so I'm going by eras! Kylie - 1988 She only did like 2 for Locomotion and Je Ne Sais.. I'll go with Je Ne sais. The locmotion one was awful! Enjoy Yourself / EFY: Loved Wouldn't change a thing ROL: Loved Shocked - the confidence, the swagger wow wow wow LGTI and GH: None! The choreography was awful this era DeCon phase: Confide in me preview (when she opened TOTP lying on the sofa - "Hi, I'm Kylie, live and exclusive on TOTP"). Amazing! Everything else was downhill from there Parlo till 2006 when TOTP folded: Spinning around definitely - so joyous live! Slow IBIY The ROL medley and BTDYK (2004) I didn't care much for the other BL and Fever perf's as they didn't translate well on the small stage. She sounded awfully nasal on the CGYOOMH
  10. Where can I hear TENSION?? I so badly want to hear it.
  11. BMG were (in a good way) put in this new situation where they have a massive hit single and they've responded so well. Kudos BMG!
  12. Oh my that is good news! This song has legs!
  13. There will be amazing marketing and promo and all...but being really really honest - I doubt it'll go top 10 if we include streaming, and all that other stuff. Dance-pop is still a very niche area in the US chart and unlike a Gaga or other white women who do pop-dance, Kylie doesn't have a cult following outside of the 30yr+ LGBT. That said, I suspect it'll sell more and sell longer than both Disco and Aphrodite: and most importantly - achieve the all important goal of visibility as she gears up for Vegas.
  14. Great topic/question Jessie Where! I think each of the songs ATL, PP (and I'm adding CGYOOMH) served different purposes in Kylie's career. To an extent, I think of a PP more as a combo of CGYOOMH and Spinning Around: in the sense that a) it put Kylie back in the public eye in the new Insta/tiktok era (much like SA brought her name back in the pop radar) b) It showed the current 2023 world that Kylie's trademark about creating a lush catchy earworm pop song is still very much there (like Head) But again, the market landscape is so different the way I see this is: if PP were released in 2010 instead of today, it would've been way bigger than ATL, almost a CGYOOMH part 2.
  15. PP becomes first top 40 hit in the Netherlands since wow / 2008! Congrats to BMG-NL.
  16. This has set the album up so nicely!
  17. I understand they may have a big Tension UK Promo planned and want to avoid overexposure....but the lack of promo or UK interview spots is a bit surprising considering this is a once in a blue moon opp for her.
  18. You are everyone’s hun. I often think of you and sing Pa-hun pa-hun It’s Carol, and I know! ❤️❤️

Agree...so much can happen in 3-4 weeks these days...no guarantee she'll get to #1. And I was seriously thinking this was a shoe-in for #1 on week 1 itself given her profile.

At this point in time, do we think Olivia will ever get to #1 in the UK with Vampire? A 12K diff between her and a song that's been #1 forever is QUITE a LOT!
  21. I feel UK will get single #2 whilst rest of the world inc Australia (where PP will enjoy a revival if it hits it big in the US, Aussies are proper yank kiss-asses and wannabes) will stick with PP.
  22. You're such a blessing to this forum. Thank you for this analysis. It's looking promising.... I still say she'll be 9.

I don't think anyone is questioning Taylor's intention on re-recording her albums. All that some of us are saying is - as it's a re-recording with a few bonus songs, it's technically not a separate album and shouldn't be treated as one.

THIS!! Thank you! I couldn't have put it any better myself!
