#8 in the US spotify viral charts is huge!

On a non-UK note, it appears she isn't doing that well in her "home" country Oz. Peaked at 39 and that's it.

I feel it is looking good for Kylie as the CapitalFM video has racked up a lot of hits already and my Youtube plays PP right after the live version.

True but the music business itself isn't as lucractive now as everyone is streaming. And even her target market is so diverse and out of touch w 80s/90s divas it's really very little bang for a buck. A headline on NYC pride parade is one thing... but she's been doing interviews with radio channels in Houston, etc. She did extensively promote Aphrodite in US and Mexico and all, but that was after the UK promo was done. This is the first time I'm seeing her prioritise a well known iffy territory for her well established one.

Wonder why she’s spending so much promo time in the usa for this album. Usa never happened for her in her 20s or 30s (forget Fever that was a one off), won’t certainly happen for her in her mid 50s. It’s another thing if PP had already cracked the chart in which case it makes sense (like Head had, in 2002 when she began usa promo). She’d better be repurposing that time in the UK or the continent

The song has been defying expectations and I honestly never even imagined we'd be having this discussion in 2023, 35 years into her music career so I'm just so pleased for that. Esp I look at acts like Rita Ora who get continuously A-listed by Radio 1, etc. and even they haven't been able to crack the top 40 despite all the media support. I predict PP will end up anywhere between 11-15 this week, but will continue climbing between BMG's release strategy, and she's once again gaining good will and slowly showing up or moving up on playlists. IMHO, what's needed is continual awareness like the Capital STB to the folks who still download as I doubt streaming alone is going to get her a higher chart position as it's too competitive. And am I correct in saying 1 download > 1 stream? Her demographics - mostly middle aged are more from the CD and download era anyway, so just awareness to that crowd.

Her perf once again highlights what a great engaging performer she is. The others naturally are below par. Ellie Calvin Miracle was the worst, dear God! Kylie really knows how to connect with the audience - regardless of their age or gender or whatever.

Are we seeing the effect of the perf on steaming and downloads, or too early to tell?

Does capitalFM drown out the crowd noise during the perf before uploading the video? The applause was deafening as she got on stage and suddenly the crowd felt silent during the perf. Anyone there to verify if the crowd was engaged throughout? The crowd felt silent even when she did the sing along to PP after the perf ended I saw some of the other perfs- Ellie and Anne Marie on YouTube and bless their heart, they try but don’t just don’t have the X factor (and experience) our girl has! She really commands an audience, doesn’t she?

God when this lady gets on the stage, she OWNS it. And I’ve always liked her UK performances the most, it’s the one place where she truly feels like home. PP was great but given the UK knows her entire reportoire, I wonder why she chose to perform Head of all songs (yes, aware it’s her biggest hit but she could’ve done something else or more reCent).

I never imagined we’d be talking Kylie and top 20 in 2023! Showing the young ones how it’s done. Is it just me or has there been immense goodwill around her at the mo? Honestly this tension era is already giving Fever vibes (in terms of media coverage, goodwill, etc.)

This is just all so exciting. I still suspect a top 15 for her by EOW. At this point, I don't think any promo will help.... she just needs to get on more spotify playlists, etc.

Totally. Even outside of popstars - when you talk to event mgrs, hotel staff, airport staff, airline cabin crew, etc they only have the nicest things to say about her - how normal, professional and grounded she is. To me, personally K is a role model in that she’s self aware of what she’s good at (and not good at) and works very hard, consistently so to make up for it

I don't think anyone, inc. BMG expected this kind of response to PP. Kudos to them for pulling all the stops on this unplanned success. I'm honestly surprised she doesn't have any UK slots lined up though. Back in the day, a new Kylie song meant that the UK would get its 1st radio play, 1st big interview, 1st live tv perf, etc. etc. I understaned she's relo'ed to Oz and all and can't just drive up to a radio station like before. But from a business perspective I'm just surprised she hasn't prioritised her largest market.

Like all have said, a 2 or 3 single release (like the 2000 days) would be a great idea. The real challenge is which week to release it (perhaps when it’s already top 15) to give it that boost.

What are the diff levels of capital fm playlists? I’d like A list the best?

In all fairness, UK is a way bigger and more influential market than Oz. Kylie is a very proud aussie and all, but I'd guess even she pays more attention to the UK charts!

Is that review for real? I’m sure his Desc of the songs is but from what I heard, Kylie wasn’t there for the full listen and certainly wasn’t in the middle of the room and chatty. Either way album sounds like fever part 2 and im so excited!
