What's the reason for the taylor swift climb?
  3. From 'everyhit.com':
  4. The singles climate was a whole 'nother story back with Long Hot Summer. The Loving Kind sold a whole lot more than a lot of GA's singles yet struggled. It's not as easy to hit top 10 anymore.

    She's critically acclaimed.

I think and hope her album will shoot up to the top once it's released, though.

No, they've kissed and made up: Really glad 'The Fear' is storming towards a #1, it's one of the more brilliant singles of the recent months.
  8. That would mean higher release week sales than CSF.
  9. No matter who's got it, it's going to be close.
  10. The 97.
  11. That was false information. But it's probably true now.

TLK is def. one of the top 5 best Girls Aloud singles and I can't understand why it's not connecting with the buying public to a greater degree than this. Saleswise it will probably do better than a lot of their other singles, though. 'Poker Face' is a horribly simple, one-trick-pony song. The verses are dire. 'Just Dance' is miles better.

Well Amnesiac was very good so that wasn't the reason.
  16. Oh my god, "There's No One Quite Like Grandma". MAN ALIVE.
  17. This is a matter of principle, not specific cases. Now that physical sales will soon be close to none, downloads is the only thing that counts. The result? Cherrypicking single tracks off of albums will only increase, not necessarily because of a shift in trends, but because simply more people download music and less physical, and the downloading of non-single tracks will grow in percentage as a result. This WILL lead to several more non-singles hitting the top 75, and it will ruin possibilities of good chart runs. The show of stability a clean chart record is will be gone if every song that hits the top 75 is counted as a single. It can't go on. A single should only be counted as a single if it's released as a single and promoted as a single, otherwise the enthusiast's joy of chart historics and chart runs will be lost forever.
  18. You can't punish an act for making a song that's popular enough to get into the charts off of fans downloading it from an album. It's ridiculous. It was never intended to be a single, never released as a single, so it's not a single. In other words, Westlife and GA still stand.
