  1. The instrumental may sound similar to "No One" but it's a completely different song, in terms of lyrical content. I don't think it's her strongest lead single ever, but that's only because all of her lead singles have been KILLER. I'm loving this more with each listen, by the way.
  2. Pretty sure it's 09.22.

Oh, without a doubt. Hopefully it can remain consistent while airplay builds.
  4. Yeah, I can't stop listening to "Soundtrack 2 My Life". It's the standout on the record, but as a whole it's so addictive. I'm glad someone else is feeling the love.
  5. This is just amazing. Exactly what you want from a lead single put out by Alicia Keys. I hope this is huge. EDIT: After a couple more listens, this WILL be huge (more likely in the U.S., obviously). It builds perfectly.

^^And that's with no promo and very little radio play.

Another little U.S. radio update because it was just THAT good today. #1 Rhythmic (+112 spins, +0.552 AI) #7 Urban (+26 spins, +0.499 AI) #15 Pop (+109 spins, +0.785 AI) #33 Urban AC (-6 spins, -0.003 AI) WOW, a spin increase of 498 in a day!
  8. "Up Out My Face" has been uploaded and it's another great one and I think it's actually commercial enough to be a single at some point. She sang a lot of tracks from "Memoirs", apparently. So here's to hoping more will surface! These uploads are from her Vegas show, by the way.
  9. Lead single "Doesn't Mean Anything" premieres next week. I hope it's as instant as "No One".
  10. WOW @ her vocals on "Angels Cry". It's a great track that's beautiful in terms of lyrics & vocals.

    OFFICIALLY #1 on Rhythmic radio!

Wow, this song is great. Based on the leaks of this era so far, things were looking really grim, but this is very strong.

    Fingers crossed!

Tedder saved the best for himself! Great, great single.
  15. I know there's been little interest on Buzzjack, but WOW, this album is crazy. It's so cohesive, and there are some real gems on the record. "Soundtrack 2 My Life" is just a masterpiece, as is "Pursuit of Happiness" featuring MGMT (which is the next U.S. single, by the way). Seriously, it's dark nature is similar to that of "808s & Heartbreak", which was predictable as he's on Kanye's label, but it works. One of my favourites albums of the year, by far.

LOL, and it's the unofficial release again!

There's no way this is going #1 in the U.S. before the radio adds date (09.22). For it to hit the top spot, it'll have to sell an immense amount of downloads as it's not being repressed. I don't have high hopes about it's success in the U.S. which is a shame. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like she needed a strong uptempo to come back hard.
  18. Snippets are not always a good representation, but they're all growing on me rapidly.
  19. Finally... the snippets! http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B002OKSQN2...8969&sr=8-5 "Up Out My Face" sounds great, as does "Angels Cry". The clips don't make the album sound as appealing as I was hoping, but I found most of the clips on Whitney's album boring and I completely changed my mind after hearing the record in full, so who knows. EDIT: OK, I'm really feeling the sound of this record now. I knew I would, as it sounds like a chilled out version of "How to be a Lady Vol. 1". I was hoping for real outlandish production, but this is the next best thing.

    Finally!
  21. Mysterio v. Morrison from Smackdown was really strong. I'm really looking forward to Undertaker v. CM Punk. I can't see Punk losing the belt this quickly though. OH, the December event "Armageddon" is no more... it's not "TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs". This is just getting stupid now. How much more uninspired can these PPV titles become?
  22. I knew Jay and Alicia would deliver! They're performing together at the VMA's, presumably "Empire State of Mind" (which may be my favourite track on "The Blueprint 3"). Anyway, great, great album.

Oh please, it was quite obvious from the moment Alex won they'd be compared. They're the only two female winners in X-Factor history who could be targeted towards the same market. It was inevitable. Anyway, I like "Happy" but I was hoping for something different. I'm a Leona st.an so I'll support her whatever she releases, but I wanted more. On a real positive, her voice is magic on this.

WOW, this Sunday?? Crazy excitement. I think it'll be a mid-tempo, and it probably should be as she needs to be re-introduced to the US without a ballad.

It's Like That vs Migrate We Belong Together vs Touch My Body Shake It Off vs Cruise Control Mine Again vs I Stay In Love Say Somethin' vs Side Effects Stay the Night vs I'm That Chick Get Your Number vs Love Story One and Only vs I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time Circles vs Last Kiss Your Girl vs Thanx 4 Nothin' I Wish You Knew vs O.O.C To the Floor vs For the Record Joy Ride vs Bye Bye Fly Like a Bird vs I Wish You Well Sprung vs The Heat I really love "E=MC2" but it was a no brainer. I chose "I Wish You Well" as it's really personal to me, and is such a beautiful song. However, "FLAB" is MC at her best (artistically) and would kill anything else on "E=MC2".
