Drake 'Thank Me Later'
I'm standing in the stalls too, Dan! BTW, "Find Your Love " is #7 on U.S. iTunes! This will see another new peak even further inside the top 10 (Hot 100) next week...

Kid Cudi · 'Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager'
The production is great, but I'm not feeling the hook at all. It actually borders boring about 1.20 mins in. I'm really surprised as mixtape & debut record were literally amazing. Hoping for something more beyond the lead single now, but yeah, I'm quite disappointed...

Dr Dre ft.Jay-Z 'Under Pressure'
After ten years of waiting, this is poor. I didn't think he'd lose an ear for good beats & verses (i.e. Timbo) but that may the case for Dre now. This is an unfinished version but it'll still suck. The material could never match the hype, and I think everyone's known that for a while now.

Drake 'Thank Me Later'
He has a quite big following in the UK even if he's not seen much commercial success (within the UK, that is). Side note, "Find Your Love" is literally blowing up on mainstream radio. Great timing! Here's today's update: 31 25 DRAKE Find Your Love 2438 1586 852 18.964 +158 (spins) +99 (bullet) +0.875 (AI) This is heading for the top 20 with no problem, top 10 is more than likely too.

Drake 'Thank Me Later'
Billboard is predicting 425-475k, possibly more. Those are great numbers and would be the highest first week sales of the year so far (I believe). Most of the songs on "Thank Me Later" are charting in the top 200 on U.S. iTunes. I'm surprised to see the overwhelming support for "9AM in Dallas" considering it's been available for free download through his blog for a while now. It's a great freestyle, though. #11 "9AM in Dallas" #15 "Up All Night" featuring Nicki Minaj #37 "Find Your Love" #49 "Fancy" featuring T.I. & Swizz Beats #54 "Fireworks" #63 "Light Up" #71 "Miss Me" featuring Lil' Wayne #76 "Unforgettable" featuring Young Jeezy #81 "Shut It Down" featuring The-Dream #90 "Over" #98 "Show Me a Good Time" #101 "Thank Me Now" #160 "The Resistance" Go Drizzy!

Drake 'Thank Me Later'
A freestyle he released on his blog a few weeks back. It's a great freestyle, and his flow is amazing. It's better than some of the tracks on "Thank Me Later", even though the album as a whole is strong.

England vs USA
I think England played really well, they just couldn't finish it off. There were definitely some holes in their defense, and a more strategic would've been able to capitalise on that. I wasn't impressed with USA last night & really don't think they played that well. England went IN on the second half, but just couldnt close another goal.

England vs USA
I really don't know who to support! I'd like both teams to progress ideally, but I think England have this one. Looking forward to tonight, because socially it'll be a great event too.

Drake & Lil Wayne 'Miss Me'
Debuts @ #15 on the Hot 100!

Flo Rida ft.David Guetta ∙ 'Club Can't Handle Me'
Wow, I hate this. To be fair, he's only released one good single (that being "Low"). I'm guessing this will be huge just like his other lead singles, especially because it conforms to current pop trends. He'll always remain a singles artist, though.

Ludacris 'My Chick Bad (ft. Nicki Minaj)'
The burns real quick, but it's pretty fun. Nicki's verse is great, but the rest of the track is a little plain.

Eminem ∙ 'Recovery'
"Cold Wind Blows" - Great intro, his flow is insane. Fun opening with a Mariah (I am a fan though!) & Michael J Fox jab in there... "Talkin' 2 Myself" featuring Kobe - Unbelievable hook, with meaningful lyrics from Em. Hot production, but the hook is what kills this one. One of his best tracks to date, in my opinion. "On Fire" - Wow, Em goes hard on this. Very "street". Great production, too. "Won't Back Down" featuring Pink - OK hook, but underwhelming if I'm honest. The positive is the lyrical wordplay by Eminem. "W.T.P." - This is a banger, but I actually think the beat is a little uninspired? Hm, not sure on this. I like the thought behind the song though ("white trash party"). "Going Through Changes" - Another "wow" moment on the record. This is great, the Black Sabbath sample is pretty cool. Beat is basic, like most of the album, but it's fine because this is just CLASSIC Em! "Not Afraid" - Reflective song with an anthemic chorus. Perfect choice as the lead single, and it's in the top half of this album (with regards to quality). Love the snares. "Seduction" - Another great production from Boi-1da. The flow complements the beat really well. Smooth hook & track overall. "No Love" featuring Lil' Wayne - HOLY CRAP! The punchlines in this are out of the world. Seriously, easily one of the standout tracks on "Recovery". The "What is Love?" sample is weird, but works so well. Em does kill Weezy, but even Wayne's haters have been praising his verse as they both went hard. One of Just Blaze's hottest beats. "Space Bound" - A different sound, definitely, but very chilling. The chorus & build is epic. A personal favorite on this record. "Cinderella Man" - Another anthem! Again, it's a different sound for Em but it's great. The hook is epic. An instant favorite. "25 to Life" - The hook is sung by the singer in the New Royales, apparently. The production is pretty slick, and Em's verses are good. The message behind this song is really intriguing. "So Bad" - Typical Eminem & Dr. Dre. The beat is crazy & very memorable. Classic Em, once again - confident & triumphant. "Almost Famous" - Banger, the chorus definitely is not comforting but the whole vibe of the song is extremely dark. The drums are great on this. "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna - Production is a little weak, but Rihanna's hook is simply perfect. This sounds like it could be the biggest hit off the CD, even if it's not the best (although it is very good). "You're Never Over"- OK, the chorus is wack, but the production is hot. It's OK, because although he sings the chorus and can't actually hold a note, it's as if he purposely did this to say "f*** you, this is from the heart" as it's dedicated to Proof. "Untitled" or "Here We Go", whatever the hidden track is called - Nice production, Em is very aggressive on this. The album is seriously great. Has overtaken "Thank Me Later" for my pick as album of the year so far. That may change, as I stan for Drake, but damn, this is Em's return. I'd say MMLP>Recovery>SSLP>TES>Relapse>Encore, but it's still early days and hard to tell if a record will become a classic less than 24 hours after it's release. Either way, it's better than "Relapse" (and I quite like that record) that holds some comedic Em (jabs at Mariah, Michael J Fox etc.) & the meaningful lyrics he's been praised for in the past.

Eminem ∙ 'Recovery'
This album is really strong. I have only listened to half the record because I'm at work, but it's definitely one of his better efforts. The hook on "Talkin' 2 Myself" is dope. The Rihanna track is good too, her hook is way better than Pink's. "No Love" featuring Weezy is epic. What song does that sample, I can't remember the name at all? I'll give more thoughts later once I've listened to it in full, but so far it's sounding promising. The anticipation for this was off the chart. So many "fake" leaks, and claims surrounding the internet release. The internet was buzzing last night, such a nice surprise to find out that it's out this morning!

Drake 'Thank Me Later'
Damn, I hope that's not the confirmed setlist. Seriously, I love his pre-TML stuff, but I'd like at least a few tracks from his album. I can't imagine he wouldn't add any of the new tracks off "Thank Me Later" to his set (aside from "Over"). Whatever happens, it'll be great, especially as "Fear" is confirmed (although, he was always gonna perform that).

Eminem ∙ 'Recovery'
I'm surprised people aren't discussing "Won't Back Down". I'm not actually that crazy on Pink's hook, I think it's very generic. However, Eminem's lyrical wordplay is out of this world. Totally fun, and shows that he's still got an ear for such great rhymes.

Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'
Where did you get that artwork from?? The album name has yet to be confirmed. "Good Ass Job" has been the strong possibility for a few months now, but recent rumours suggest the record will be titled "Imma Let You Finish". Kanye has not given confirmation of this, so I think that cover is fanmade.
-
Eminem ∙ 'Recovery'
And so it begins, "Won't Back Down" featuring Pink has leaked. Woah, the beat goes hard! Nothing revolutionary, but Em's lyrics are strong & Pink's chorus is a grower. The production is what makes the song, though.
-
Drake 'Thank Me Later'
Yeah, the build & outro on "Shut It Down" are real highlights on the record.
-
Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'
The vocal is much clearer on the mastered version. The beat is just out of this world; so complex. Overall, a great lead single with a strong message to the haters. I totally understand the concept & meaning behind the artwork, but I'm not feeling it. Oh well, the track speaks for itself.

Drake 'Thank Me Later'
Same, I've been playing it on repeat. Even though I'm not overly keen on "Fancy", there's not one standout "skippable" track on the record.
-
Drake & Lil Wayne 'Miss Me'
This is #4 on U.S. iTunes. It's a good tune, but all I'm saying is WTF? "Find Your Love" didn't get this high with virtually no airplay if I recall correctly. The Weezy effect maybe...?

Drake 'Thank Me Later'
Further thoughts on the album... "Fireworks" - After a few listens of the mastered version, I actually prefer the original hook (solely Alicia). I'm disappointed the hook was changed, I really thought the transition to the chorus was the only part that needed tweaking (aside from the snares being made more prominent). It's still a strong intro. "Karaoke" - Produced by Francis & the Lights, it keeps an "indie" sound and when Drake switches it up and starts rapping it's great. "The Resistance" - This is the $h!t! Reminiscent of "So Far Gone", such a mellow tune with a nice hook. I wish it was longer, though. "Over" - I still love this. Amazing lead single, love the contruction of the song, sounds innovative. The chorus is anthemic. "Show Me a Good Time" - Kanye brings it on the production. Seriously, the beat is so intricate, it's amazing. Drake's flow is hot, too, definitely an album favorite of mine. "Up All Night" - WOW, was not expecting this to be that great, but holy crap the hook is amazing. Very "Young Money", w/ Nicki's feature being OK. She doesn't go too hard on this so it doesn't take away from Drake's killer delivery. "Fancy" - Hm, this is OK but the hook is actually really annoying. Swizz's flow sucks. Could've done without this track. "Shut It Down" - The final version is 7 mins long! On the outro, Drake spits over the beat reversed. Totally in love with this now. The outro alone makes the song. "Unforgettable" - Love the Aayliah sample & new drums on this mastered version, but I still can't believe Jeezy has more lines than Drake. If Drake had another verse on this I think it'd be one of my favorites. Production is top notch, though. "Light Up" - This along with "The Resistance" are my favorites from "Thank Me Later". Honestly, the beat is so haunting. Both come hard on their verses & the hook is one of Drake's best. I don't need another verse on this, it's perfect as it is. "Miss Me" - This has grown on me, mainly because of the hook. Weezy has some fun lines, too. "Cece's Interlude" - Didn't expect much from this, but it's hot. The guitar is beautiful. The arrangement of his singing is perfect. "Find Your Love" - Another easy favorite. Kanye delivers on the beat, even if it sounds like it should've been on "808s & Heartbreak". Hook is perfect, verses are hot and it shows that "808s" was ahead of it's time. "Thank Me Now" - Why couldn't Timbaland deliver beats like this all time? He's such a stale producer, but totally brought it for Drake. Nice close to a great album.

Drake 'Thank Me Later'
LOL. It's officially my favourite album of 2010 so far, but I knew it would be. The production is top quality, it's one of the best produced albums (as a whole) that I've heard in a long time. It's much more cohesive than I was anticipating. I'll post more later, but I'm loving the final version of "Fireworks", Drake's inclusion on the hook is great.

Drake 'Thank Me Later'
The same guy that leaked Cudi's album is leaking the tracks (we don't already have) one by one. "The Resistance" & "Up All Night" featuring Nicki Minaj are the first two out. The first is very "So Far Gone", really mellow, whereas the latter is crazy. Nicki's verse isn't amazing, it's just OK, but Drake's kills the hook! Seriously, this may be one of the standouts on the record, which I wasn't expecting... "Show Me A Good Time" is coming next, produced by Kanye, which is something to look forward to.
