  1. He's one of the most boring artists out there, but Wayne kills it on his verse. Again, Weezy turns a song that's otherwise dull and uninspiring into a passable, somewhat interesting track.
  2. Yeah, Timbaland's sound was still strong at the time of producing for Justin & Nelly back in 2006. "Shock Value" showed some life, but was painful at times. His sound dominated U.S. radio for such a long time. I would rate his work w/ Justin & Nelly as high as his production for Aalyiah, Missy etc. It's only his more recent work that has started to sound tired and uninspired. With regards to the best, an obvious choice is Rick Rubin or Dr. Dre, and their body of work definitely stacks up. I would say my favourite producers, however, are The Neptunes. A lot of great hits, and I love the "futuristic" sound that they re-introduced in the late 90's/early 00's.

While I think this is a fourm that should remain active, due to the large scale of popularity Leona has achieved, I do think less AF forums would create more traffic in the relevant forums (Pop, R&B/Hip Hop/Soul etc.). It's a strong argument. No new reports at the moment, unfortunately. If Twitter were not as popular as it is, we would have very little news. There's still a long way to go before a single or album release yet.
  4. I've been watching them all on Sky, so I'm a week behind. This is a time I wish I was back in NY ;) I skimmed the spoilers, and coudln't find a twist, but maybe I've missed something? If it's regarding the conclusion of the finale, I think we all knew something like this was going to happen. Oh well, if there is a twist I'd rather it not be ruined by reading spoilers from the internet, because it just wouldn't be the same (for me). Anyway, this season has been a major improvement from season six. I can barely even remember what the plot of that season was about, and that is coming from an avid 24 fan.

I'd probably agree with Jay-Z being listed as #1. I remember when people would call him a shoe-in filler for BIG after his death, funny that, huh? So many street anthems, lyrically, he's virtually untouchable (at his peak). His rivalry w/ Nas was one of the best, and most influential in Hip Hop history. Tupac would probably win if we're talking most influential, though. Like you, however, I feel he's overrated. I'll also agree that Biggie was far superior, and his flow was just remarkable. N.W.A would make my list in a heartbreat; the originators of gangster rap. Ice Cube, especially, who was the pin-up of West Coast music. So many to choose, it'd be hard to compile a list. I'll provide my Top 5, but this is not concrete. #1: Jay-Z #2: Notorious BIG #3: Rakim #4: Ice Cube #5: Nas

Matches added to the card after Smackdown: Edge v. Jeff Hardy for the World Championship, Ladder match Mysterio v. Jericho for the IC Championship, No Holds Barred match CM Punk v. Umaga, Samoan Strap match I told you it would be Judgment Day part II. This is just lazy booking, but Mysterio v. Jericho should be great.

  12. I think they cancelled the idea of a remix due to the negative feedback the song was getting. I love Kanye, but it's a horrible remix. I love "Ego". It's a nice motown influenced song, and I think it'll do well at Urban. It doesn't have much crossover appeal though, which is where "Sweet Dreams" comes into the picture (which is another great track).
  13. Yeah, this kills "Imma Be". It's an anthem.
  14. AAC posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
It looks as if her label are putting everything into this record to make it a success, so I'm hoping this release is managed better.
  15. You know, I agree with you, but in some cases it still works for the guy. The lyrics to "Beautiful" are corny as hell, but his delivery and flow make it work. It's easily the best song on the record, and proves he still knows how to deliver a lyric. There is a lot of tripe on the album, though. I can't stand the "Shady" accent he uses on some of the tracks.
  16. AAC posted a post in a topic in R&B and Hip-Hop
The album title sounds lame, but I'm hoping for an improvement on "Here I Stand". I don't think the album was overly bad, it just wasn't as good as "Confessions". He was a little more mature sounding in his last album, though. He's still the king of the sex jam, too. "Trading Places" was brilliant on all kinds of levels. And although "Here I Stand" sold far less than "Confessions", there's most definitely interest in Usher. In the UK? Maybe not so much, but he's still a top R&B player in the US.
  17. Apparently the song was played on KIIS in full. There's got to be a HQ version uploaded shortly...
  18. AAC posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
Totally agree (w/ regards to the "Upgrade U" comparison). I'm not sure what to think, to be honest. I thought "Boom Boom Pow" was fire, but this sounds like a mess, to me. Oh well, it won't kill my anticipation for the album.
  19. Wow, all of this news so suddenly. It's great! I think I'll warm to the album title. It's very "Mariah", that's for sure. With regards to the snippet, I think it's real hot. As it's not HQ, I'm unsure if it's lead single material, but it's still strong nonetheless. An official announcement regarding the lead single should be made in the next few weeks (or sooner perhaps?), especially if LA Reid wants the album out by August/September.
  20. AAC posted a post in a topic in Sports and Fitness
LOL, and what, you think we're deluded? Even WWE have tried to move away from the term "sport". That's why announcers aren't allowed to call the wrestlers, well, "wrestlers". They're labelled "superstars", or the more recent term Vince is trying to enforce; "entertainers". It's still, however, categorised as a sport, hence WWE being discussed in the sports forum. It's fake, but TV shows, movies etc. are all scripted too. I'm sorry to ramble, but it's a pretty lame argument when no-one has even contested it. Oh, and BTW guys, they're thinking of having a submission themed PPV. WWE sent out a survey to certain members of their "WWE Universe" asking their opinion of the following PPV names: "WWE Total Submission" "WWE Submission Sunday" "WWE Breaking Point" "WWE Submit & Quit" LOL, now those are funny. I don't like any of them, but I guess "Breaking Point" shows promise. But then it reminds me of "TNA Turning Point", so who knows. Anyway, it's a bad, bad idea. WWE rarely even use submissions to conclude matches anymore. It's not like WWE are full of Angles, Benoits, Eddies etc. is it?
  21. AAC posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
It's being reported that she's now working with Max Martin. Man, they're going all out on this album, aren't they? It'll definitely be a new sound for Leona. The new era seems destined for success.
  22. AAC posted a post in a topic in Sports and Fitness
This is one of my least favourite events of the year. It's gimmick overkill, one of the reasons TNA will never be strong competition for WWE. It's also pretty much Judgment Day part II. Anyway, Orton v. Batista in a Steel Cage match & Cena v. Big Show in a Submission match have been announced for the show. Looking good, then...
  23. AAC posted a post in a topic in Sports and Fitness
Yeah, the first four matches were really strong. Especially Jericho v. Mysterio. I'm hoping this feud continues past "Extreme Rules"... Orton v. Batista was better than expected, but it still blew. It's as if WWE really don't know how to book Orton, like they're confused on his gimmick. Cena v. Show was boring as hell, but it was saved by Cena's sell job. Edge v. Hardy was a bit of an anti-climax to a good PPV, but it delivered.
  24. Thanks for all of your comments.
