WWE Backlash 2009
You know Jonjo, that's exactly how I felt when I was watching the show. It was as if they'd just swapped back to their Brands before last year's Draft. It was all so lame. I'm glad Jericho will be away from HHH, as we all know how Trips feels towards the guy. Kane to Smackdown? Boring. It's reported that he's going to be retiring in the summer, so maybe one last singles push? They need to do something o rejuvenate his charater, though. CM Punk to SD sound fresh, but that's as far as it gets for me. The rest were predictable, and boring. At least last year had some major shocks. I loved how the commentators went nuts for H's move to Raw. It was as if the Draft actually matters, even though he's been on Raw almost every week since February. WWE needs progression, bad. There's so little changing, and that title needs to come off Trips ASAP. At least we'll get a Jericho v. Undertaker program in the near future. I have such sympathy for Orton. They've ruined his character. He could've been the new modern day bad ass. Instead, we get Trips and the McMahons masturbating over themselves ten years after they were actually relevant. Why are they trying so hard to make Triple H look good? I'm fed up with them wanting Trips to be the next Hulk Hogan, or something. It's gone on long enough. They need to realise his slow paced, long 30 minute "classics" are not going to garner the kind of reception to that of Austin, Rocky, Hogan or even Cena. You'd think after 10 years of H in main events they'd realise that. I know I'm like a broken record with the Triple H $h!t, and he was exciting back in 99-01, but it's just too worn now. They could've had the next big thing with Orton, but they failed to capitalise. Oh well, he might even win the belt at Backlash... but I bet H won't be the one putting him over.

Lil Wayne & Dre ∙ 'Hot Revolver'
Man, I didn't realise his new mixtape (w/ Juelz Santana) leaked. It's pretty hot, and that's where the "I Heard Something" snippet (w/ Justin Timberlake) came from. It's all about T-Wayne, though! Apparently the T-Wayne track will appear on their album, but I have no idea when that'll drop. The track "I'm Not Human" on the mixtape will be on Rebirth. I like it, but it's not as strong as Hot Revolver (or Prom Queen for that matter). He doesn't sing in this one, and his rap is wild but I'm not sure on the production. It's good though.

My favourite R&B artist! Who is Yours?
Yeah, Rihanna is definitely not an R&B artist. Alicia Keys, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men are probably my all time favourite R&B acts. A lot of Mariah's stuff is considered pop, which is false. She's been an R&B artist from the beginning, even though she's released a number of pop songs. Brandy, Mary J & Keyshia Cole are up there too.

Kanye West ft Kid Cudi \\ Welcome To Heartbreak
Yeah, I've seen it all over the UK music channels. I love the song, and video, so I'll be happy with this.
-
Hits Daily Double - US Top 50 Albums
Well, his debut pretty much showed he's just a singles artist. I don't think anyone was expecting him to push great album sales. I'll agree it's still pretty wild considering how big "Right Round" was. He should probably just stick to releasing singles.
-
WWE Backlash 2009
Agreed. Behind Trips, Batista is the second most stale star they have. It's been the same shtick for too long now. I have a feeling Batista will turn on H, but then I've been thinking they'll turn him for a while but it's never happened so who knows.
-
Hits Daily Double - US Top 50 Albums
Wow, this is even more proof Flo Rida is nothing more than a singles artist.
-
WWE Backlash 2009
OH, and I have to say that "Santina"/Beth skit on RAW was just hilarious. I haven't LOL'd at a wrestling promo in a long time, but it was written to perfection.
-
Eminem 'We Made You' // '3 A.M.'
I just don't know, I find myself liking it. I was hoping for a more serious song, similar to that of "Lose Yourself". This is terribly juvenile and there's little difference to his past "comedic" tracks, but I can't get that hook out of my head. Well, whatever, it's better than "Crack a Bottle" and I think this has a good chance of smashing.
-
WWE Backlash 2009
Yeah, Batista's back. As if things couldn't get more stale...
-
WWE Backlash 2009
I was thinking maybe Edge v. Vickie at Wrestlemania 26 for the right to be GM of Smackdown; I'm sure WWE will be continuing the program for that long ;) That was a pure joke, BTW. Yeah, 2000 was just on fire. It's the only time HHH drew money for the company, and that was really more to do with The Rock (as it was his top year in terms of popularity). I also remember Fully Loaded. Rikishi did that big dive of the cage, didn't he? He could be so fun at times, and that was just crazy. I remember really loving The Rock v. Benoit at the time. The Rock could be such a good worker at times. All this chat about how hot WWE was back in 2000 has made me realise we've been in a wrestling dark age for just too long now.
-
WWE Backlash 2009
Yeah, she's OFFICIALLY training to wrestle for a future angle of some kind. Now I would pay to see that. The thing is, if you look at Backlash history, it's pretty much a joke. The only *really* strong Backlash was 2000. That HHH v. Rock program was on fire, with Rock v. McMahons and Austin returning for one night. Now that's how you book a post-Wrestlemania PPV. WWE are totally uninspiring when we have these "I want my rematch!" clauses which are seemingly ALWAYS used at least once at Backlash. How about more creativity? They've done it before in the space of a short time, so they can do it again. It just means hard work and actual planning instead of picking a "standard feud" in the discussion room.
-
WWE Backlash 2009
Oh dear lord, I can't take another HHH v. Orton match. Maybe they'll be creative and not have "Wrestlemania Part 2" for Backlash this year? Well, it doesn't make a difference. The Draft means nothing and has done for years now. Stars are always appearing on opposing Brands, it's so illogical. Yet they ONE wrestling company still has TWO World Titles. Who's ever heard of that?! Yikes, I'm hoping for a good Raw tonight, because I don't want to be continually disappointed. But anyway, Backlash is always "same ol', same ol'" with rehashed stories from Wrestlemania. The writers usually get lazy after Wrestlemania, which is a shame because a lot of the stuff in the weeks leading upto Mania was pretty good. Vickie's getting wrestling training. Now, wouldn't it be funny if she were to wrestle at Backlash? ;)

AAC's Hot Singles (Top 40 - Wk 16)
Thanks to Nick, Jur, Dan and Martin for the comments. With regards to Brandy Jur, Human is one of my favourites of 2008. Lack of relevance and promotion has hindered her, unfortunately. And yeah, Trust is great. It's a track that proves Monica's still got it.

Wrestlemania 25th Anniversary
You know, it's kind of embarrassing when a guy like Steamboat is better and more fluid than half the guys on the roster. I was literally jumping out of my seat when he got going. And the last time he wrestled was something crazy like 1994. I'm still baffled by HHH v. Orton. I'm sure even Vince (while watching the ME) was thinking "this was a baddddd idea". It was so moronic. Now, if it had been Cena v. Orton, the crowd would've been on fire and it would've been less stale than the same BORING HHH v. Orton match. And to top it off, HHH had to have his shining moment at Mania. You know, he's never had one.... ;) When are WWE going to realise H isn't going to be a Taker, Austin, Rock, Hogan, HBK etc. Cena's the only one that's coming close, while Orton could be if he were booked right. They're just in denial. They just can't defend his reign and performances. He'll go down as one of the greats, because thats how WWE will promote him. He's just the most stale main eventer in WWE history, and I think lack of progression is what's slowed the business down. OK, so the Orton rivalry was well built, but how many times have we seen HHH go nuts with a sledgehammer? Therein lies the problem...
-
Wrestlemania 25th Anniversary
Tag match didn't air. No ECW Title match either. What a joke. You need to see Taker v. Michaels. It's like the most gripping match in a LONG time. It's the ONLY time I thought HBK *might* win this. HHH v. Orton was just boring, exactly like their other matches (all expect the LMS at No Mercy 07). Totally worthless. Cena's entrance was cool, and the match was OK. MITB was really strong with some great spots. Wayy better than anyone thought it was going to be. Hardy v. Hardy was actually really fun. A nice heated garbage match, and Jeff did some crazy things. The ending was very creative. Jericho v. Legends. This was pretty funny to watch, but Steamboat was actually kind of good (still!). The Rourke thing was fair, but his punch looked weak as anything. The crowd loved it, though. Divas Battle Royal was just lame, as predicted. No Trish which just took the credability down. JBL v. Rey. Waste of time. I get the angle, but it was ridiculous. There were some good points, but when comparing this to past Wrestlemania's, it stinks. The only real thing worth seeing is Taker v. Michaels. Their facial expressions were priceless. The crowd heat was fun too.
-
Wrestlemania 25th Anniversary
Yeah, Taker v. HBK was really strong. It saved the show from bombing. HHH v. Orton was just pure $h!te. I'm glad the crowd were dead, as maybe it'll teach WWE a lesson that a stale feud should not main event Wrestlemania (even if it's had a few hot angles beforehand). I can't believe Orton didn't go over. Terrible mistake by WWE. They're really ruining his character. What an anti-climax to a medicore show. MITB was better than I was anciticipating, though. So yeah, worst Mania in a long time. But that was expected. That's what happens when you have a card thrown together in the last 1-2 months. Planning needs to happen for this show. I'm expecting a much lower buyrate than the past few Manias.
-
Wrestlemania 25th Anniversary
Apparently Morrison & Miz v. Carlito & Primo will not air. It'll be an extra on the Mania DVD. That's a serious WTF moment two hours before the event. The tag division means nothing in WWE, and I get that, but it was one of the matches I was actually anticipating. I don't know if it's official though. It's not been confirmed on WWE.com (as of yet), so I'm hoping the source is wrong.

Keri Hilson ∙ In A Perfect World...
She kills the uptempos. Singles Lades and Rado make the second disc. I'll agree the rest are mid-tempo, but it's her personality that shines through those tracks. It's all about her delivery of the lyric. Diva and Video Phone are far from lyrical masterpieces, but the production and attitude of Beyonce is what makes them killer. I think Ego is a mash-up of both Beyonce and Sasha Fierce, and it's a great motown influenced track. Diva flopped? LOL. So, a #1 hit on Urban radio and #3 on Billboard R&B is a flop now? It wasn't anywhere near the monster that Single Lades was but it did NOT flop. It was successful where it was supposed to be; on the Urban format.
