  3. Cute enough song, but not single worthy for me. Paparazzi is the best choice of third single for Europe. I think the US will get Starstruck after Poker Face.

Sandcastle Disco isn't underrated in general, as everyone seems to love the song, but it deserved to reach more people than it did. It's such a gem.

  6. Just ridiculous. I can see there's a sexual connotaton with the lollipop, but that's outright craziness. What's next on this censoring publicity bandwagon? Jeez, maybe these parents should lock their kids up.
  7. This song is bad on so many levels. The chorus is the most annoying thing I've ever heard. I can see the mass appeal towards kids, though. My little sister is crazy about her. She seems sweet enough, and APPEARS to be a good role model, so it's not all bad. By the way, I'm basing the good role model comment on what I've seen of her, which is very little... ;)

  9. The problem is, you have the Kelly fans one end of the spectrum, and ej87 on the opposing end. It's like that in every debate, but this one is just "out there". Kelly's chart position is all speculation at this point. I don't think Kelly's pimpers' said this would smash to #1 with concrete evidence, and I think they're just being subjective, which is to be expected. BUT, I don't think anyone could've said a bad word about her in this thread because these damn fanbases are so strong - to the point of sheer annoyance. It's the same with all artists. Leona Lewis is one of my favourite singers but man, her fans are crazy. Even though I "love her", a negative just will not be accepted. Like I said, that's to be expected, I guess. It is frustrating, though. All of this chat about dirty clits is pretty mad, though. :-\

It's so good. Man, Smackdown is on a roll at the moment. I'm only sad because we just KNOW it's going to end up with Hardy getting screwed out of the title...

It's just the new "thing" in R&B/Hip Hop. It's making songs from 08/09 have a definite sound. Most of the time it's used pretty well. Most of the stars who use auto-tune actually know how to use it. I think the best example of this is Kanye West. His latest album - while a step in a new direction - is his most creative yet. So many great tracks, and all of them sung in auto-tune. It doesn't bother me that much. I'm liking the modern sound, and it especially helps those with inadequate voices ;)
  12. "Your attitude is going to get you nowhere in life so sit the hell down (after reading up on some of your definitons - begin with 'irony')." It actually probably will. "Only a dim-witted simpleton would take those as definitive proof rather than what they are just a indication." But whatever. Who can give definitive proof anything is going to #1? At this time it's pretty much impossible. Everything is an "indication" and that's why this is a prediction thread. It's blowing up on US radio, so that's the most suggestive argument it will be a hit stateside. There's no evidence to suggest it will be smash over here. But I don't think anyone's guaranteed it, have they? A lot of people are making predictions based on their interpretation of the song, but music is subjective, isn't it? If Kelly is someone's favourite artist, they might be a little oblivious, but it's the same in every walk of life. Everyone is bias sometimes. I just don't get your point. I don't know why you would want to be the "mood" killer and point everyones subjectivity out. The whole "bad guy/asshole" gimmick got tired a long time ago.

Great song. It's country, but it has the crossover appeal. It's done wonders in the US on POP radio. It's got a great hook with a phenomenal build-up to the final chorus. I don't think much of her album, but this is her best best for a hit over here. I'm pleased she's trying to crack our market, but I doubt she'll mirror the success she's hate stateside.
  19. BIT always should've been released. It's got a great melody and catchy as hell. That's why it's had such longevity and reach #3 on US radio. I just think TAB was blatently a missed opportunity to attract a new demo. The more I follow the reports of IWB's spins, the more I think it shouldn't have been released. I just have a bad feeling. With so many female ballads being released, I think the intial "take off" will die down. I hope not, because it's a nice song. Forgive Me or TAB should've been the next US release.
  20. I still hate the radio edit. You can argue as much as you like about the lyrical content of the song, but after reading a few stories, I think a lot of parents are just trying to make a quick buck through publicity. As already mentioned, there are tonnes of more important songs, TV etc. that need this kind of involvement from parents. That's why I *retracted* my statement. It's because it's Britney, and she's like, the biggest popstar on earth. People love jumping on the bandwagon, too.
  21. She's actually become interesting again. It's a safe, but great song. It's lightyears ahead of her last era full of deep, meaningful, depressing tripe on MD. She's on her way back to success.
  22. Post-edit. Thinking it over, maybe it's not that big of deal. I really have no idea. I'm so against those policitcally correct snobs who choose what we can and cannot say, but from a parents' perspective I can see where they're coming from. I do think there's more important issues that need tackling than censoring this song, though. I think I'm going to retract my statement. ;)
  23. I saw that coming. It's how I would respond to my comment. ;) It's one of those situations where the song clearly says the word f***. A lot of rap songs use profanity but the words are actually censored out. Most of the time it's about innuendo. That's the problem with censoring this song. The chorus NEEDS the word to be spelt to make the song effective. I love the song, and it's a great choice, but the label should've seen this coming. I think the radio edit (if it's official) is pretty poor.
  24. Edited...?
  25. Strong choice - definitely one of the best on the album. I'm kind of split on whether this song should be released to radio; morally, anyway. I think a lot of the breakdown in society can partly be attributed to music. Believe me, I'm not one of these "politically correct" individuals but I'm thinking - as a loving parent - would I want my young child singing along to this? You can be angered all you like with the censoring, but it's the labels fault for releasing this and not having a "back up" radio edit that is actually half decent. Anyone with half a brain could see that people would jump on this release.
