  1. I'm really shocked more people here don't think TAB should've been released. It would've reached a new demo. Forgive Me kind of did that, but the mess-up of the release ruined the momentum. I believe TAB would've been more appealing than FM here in the UK. I think it's pretty odd to ignore the modern sound TAB has. Such slick production, it definitely has the "cool" factor, unlike a lot of the slow ballads on the album.
  2. This is her best chance at a #1 over here, to be honest. It's such a safe song. But that's not a bad thing, but it's a great pop song. It's definitely a grower. I think it has a good chance of going #1 in the US. I don't get the Breakaway comparisons. The only thing similar to the stuff on Breakaway is the loud, in your face, infectious chorus. The production is very different to anything in the Breakaway era. It's such a modern song. Thank God she's ditched the rebel shtick now. MD was a flop, and it was too emotional. Emotion is one thing, but some of the lyrics were a little *too* deep and uncomfortable some of the time. She should definitely stick with working on great pop tracks from here.
  3. They might release IWB over here just... because. I'd much rather TAB, to be honest. I know I sound like a broken record (as everyone demands a release of TAB) but I honestly think it would be the best move for the label. They should just throw it out there to see how much buzz they can create (if there's any left!). Whenever I play Spirit in my car, my friends always want me to blast TAB because the beats are just wild. Her vocals on top of that make the song an instant hit to a lot of people. If they were to throw IWB out for release, another ballad isn't going to push the album any further. If any song left on the album would push it further, it is Take A Bow. I don't think it'd storm in at #1 or anything like that because her album has sold buckets, but it might add even more of a buzz to her album (if that's even possible). ;)
  4. What a safe song. This will be an instant smash. It's so good to hear her move on from the MD sound, which I never dug AT ALL. This is like, one of the biggest growers I've ever heard. When I first played it, I thought "ahh, safe choice, OK, nothing great", but after the second listen I was hooked! Great, great, great chorus. Build up is strong. Great pop production. I don't think it's her best song, but it's certainly refreshing after her commercial failure with MD.
  5. I absolutely LOVED the first two episodes. The Presidents' character is so interesting. It's good to know there's a new "nice" president (ala David Palmer). I'm also intrigued by the new characters. By the second hour it felt as if I knew all of the new guys as much as the old gang. Great, great start.
  6. I'm more pumped for the return of this show than any other before. It's probably because we've been on a 24 drought for, like, TWO YEARS (excluding 24 Redemption). The new season appears to have been received well critically from what I've read.

I have a feeling you're thinking of Orton, when he was meaning Cena. I think Orton and Cena have the two best entrance themes in WWE today, actually. Triple H's is old, man. BTW, while we're on the subject of music, who else has heard any of Cena's debut album? Man, some of it blew hard but "Just Another Day" has a great old school Hip Hop vibe to it. It's a great track for a white kid who's dying to be black. The beats definitely are a throwback to late 80's/early 90's Hip Hop. I doubt anyone will agree with me though. ;)

His theme is one of those what will make you be like "$h!t, you know it's on now!". Obviously not in those words, but it gets the people moving. I'd be skeptical if he were to change it in the near future, as it really makes people cheer (or jeer!).

  11. 67 47 LEONA LEWIS I Will Be 658 152 506 3.880 It's cracked the US Top 50 (radio). :)
  12. I *hope* Poker Face takes off over here. I'm sure it will once JD has died. I hope it follows the trend of it's WW success. It's already starting to make waves in the US. Count me in as another one who thinks this album is a great pop record. I hope Paparazzi gets a release.
  13. I didn't mean to cause offense, Aidan, and I'm sorry if I did. I was just sayin' I think it's a little picky, but it's cool. No big deal mate.
  14. Great, great tune. Her voice is on fire on this. I hope this is a smash in the US, as I highly doubt it will do anything here. It's got such an incredibly catchy hook. If you listen, you can almost sing along to WBT in this. ;)

I can't believe the Rumble theme is Let It Rock. It's *such* a good choice. Way better than a lot of those emo-rock bands WWE are known to favour. Off-topic, anyone hear they're changing Cena's "FU" name to "The Throwback"? I get mummys and daddys may not like their kiddies screaming "FU" in their faces, but what a stupid change. It's actually a pretty cool name, if it wasn't a move already! WWE are so dumb sometimes. It's as if we're just to forget it was a completely different move he does. I am, however, looking forward to Cena v. HBK tomorrow on Raw. Their 60 min match from Raw in England back in 07 was great (and better than Mania 23).
  16. Is it not a little pedantic to edit someone's post because there's information that's "not needed"? Oh well. I'm glad they didn't add BYNH. It's my least favourite on the album. Everyone knows that her voice is too contrived on the song. Homeless, on the other hand, is a beautiful vocal showcase.

  18. Of course. SUBG was hardly a masterpiece, but it was a pop smash because of the hook and melody.
  19. The preview has given hope for the lyrics. Like I said before, bad lyrics doesn't mean it's a crap song. The hook is catchy (as I'm already singing it in my head) and the melody is great. A little too much electro-pop to make me jump for joy thinking "this is the best Kelly Clarkson song ever", but it's a strong single and will fit in with todays trend.
  20. Single cover=great; Album cover=not so much. She looks smokin' on the single cover, but this album art is beyond dire. It looks unbelievably cheap. She looks kinda weird, too. I'm not sure if she's supposed to, but she certainly does. The single cover is so different. It's a good job we heard a clip of the song, as it sounds pretty wild in comparison to the album cover...

Exactly. She still does ballads - just not those mellodramatic clichéd pop ballads backed by a choir. Now, she has produced some of the best pop ballds of all time and Music Box is one of the best albums ever made, but her early 90's image would not work now. She does plenty of ballads, but now they're just contemporary. I do get her appeal before she went into R&B as I've always loved her, but it's called being savvy. She knew she was almost yesterday's news (which she was becoming before Emancipation).
  24. Man, the US always get the better deal. I find "Myself" to be pretty underrated. I think it's such a contrast to anything she's ever done. It's stripped, and feels so raw. I was going to say "You Bring Me Down" should've been added on there, but it doesn't matter as it was on the original US Deluxe. It's a shame "Nowhere Left to Go" w/ Cassidy has been left off the album. It would've shown how diverse she is as a singer with a nice little urban song (even though there is zerio chemistry between her and Cassidy).
