  1. Never seen Gossip Girl :\ And so we have lift off! It's currently #2 on the Taking Off Chart, and #59 on the Mediabase chart. Slow start, but at least things are picking up now.

Like someone said, it's like comparing two different artists when you look through the catalogue. I'm into more of the fresh sound. I dug her Emancipation era most. She completely reinvented herself and it proved to be just as successful. She was becoming a bit bland, and it was time for a change. I love Mariah in general, though. Vision of Love was a perfect debut single for the time, but it's quite dated now and songs like that wouldn't give her major success in her native of USA.

She's still great and all, but when this doesn't hold a candle to the original recording. This really magnifies the deterioration of her voice. I don't get why she re-recorded it. I know it's for the US release of Ballads, but are they releasing this as a single? Seems pointless to me. They should've left the original on the album.

The UK market doesn't take to this music very well anymore. It would probably do better now due to the success of LYL, but it wouldn't reach #1. Dead and Gone w/ Justin is his best chance of follow-up success to LYL. It's such a commercial Hip Hop song, again because Justin is involved. I don't think he'll ever have major success over here unless he's got a big featured artist.
  6. The label are so clever. First releasing the artwork, then the lyrics, now the reviews are cropping up; what a way to build momentum. I only *really* liked her sophomore effort, but even I'm pumped for this song.

I'm hoping for surprise entrants. I think Christian will be too involved with Hardy/Edge (if he does re-sign) as reports have been very suggestive with the attack angle and forthcoming angle with Jeff and his girlfriend... I watched a bit of Raw online. MAN, Orton is GOD. I just love his new role. He's slick to the core.
  8. Man, Billboard love her, don't they? ;)

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a bad idea, it's just my personal reading preference. I think it's a wise marketing strategy really, as there's been such a buzz surrounding Leona in the last two years, and they're capitalizing on that.
  10. Go Kanye. Heartless has done his album well. Proud of Leona. Hopefully IWB will boost her sales a little. I'm not sure if it will though, as three ballads in a row might make her album less appealing. It should help if she wins a Grammy or two in Feb, though ;)

Yeah, Vladmir Kozlov is on the *current* poster from WWE Affiliates standing infront of the Chamber chains  Those were the days. WWE should've held off this "soft" Beth crap for later on in her career. She was doing all kinds of mad things last year before Santino (however hilarious their pairing is). She was a monster, like Chyna as you said. I actually agree with you on the Rumble point. It's like WWE doesn't want to "break from tradition". Granted, they've done some wacky things in the last year i.e. Punk's title win. But where's he now? It's like they show signs of life, but then things slowly go back to the way they were. I'm not a Cena hater, or fan, and I can actually see why WWE have him in the top spot. I'm not sure if you know, but his merch sales were all kinds of crazy in 08. His sales were the second biggest in WWE history, only behind Steve Austin. He was, like, on PAR with Hulk Hogan's merch sales back in the 80s! It's truly remarkable how appealing he is to youngsters. It doesn't bother me much because he's quite a good role model for today's society. It's just a shame he's so corny ;) I hope they don't f*** around with the Rumble winner this year. I am begging for Orton to win and have Cena v. Orton at WM. We've seen it plenty of times, but it's going to be bigger than before. Orton's on a role and Cena's breaking all kinds of records, so it's the only logical route.
  12. Crap lyrics, but it's not exactly rocket science to know that poor lyrics does not exactly equate to a crap song. SUBG was hardly a lyrical masterpiece, but look at how strong of a pop song that is. Will it have a good hook? That and the melody are the main factors to this type of record.

Trips' is either winning the Rumble or EC at No Way Out. Jesus, you'd think WWE would realise how stale he is. I sound like a broken record, but it's so true. I think one of the things *really* crippling the wrestling business is the lack of change. I remember when it was the year 2000; it couldn't have been more different to 1990. I know progression has slowed down in general terms, but WWE seems to get worse every year in moving on. Triple H is one of the major examples of this. Hogging the title scene for so many years. Nothing's ever different. At least with guys like Shawn Michaels, they're not being put in the ME every friggin' event. Even Undertaker who's been with the company since 1990 only seems to be given title matches when he's hot. That's why Taker was pushed in 07 and last year and why he's not now (even though he's always going to be my favourite). With Trips, they can't seem to grasp this concept. Rambling maybe, but it's aggrivating...
  14. Her notes, the arrangement, the drama! It opened my eyes to her vocal experimentation a little more, too. I don't know, it was just different to everything she's done previously, and it's just an epic performance.

Is this a bit soon? I'm not hating on this idea at all, as she must have a billion stories to tell, but I always rather read an autobiography of a star who's almost done. I know that means we'd have to wait for many years to come, but it's always a more insightful read of a star who's near completion. I'll obviously buy it, though. ;)
  16. This is so amazing. I never thought I'd like it (even though I love her) because I adore the original, but it's just so good.

Orton. Easy pick. He's on fire right now. I hope HHH doesn't steal his thunder, though...

I haven't been much of an Orton fun until his work in the last year. He's finally found his niche. His cunning, sneaky attitude are what did him wonders. Before he started feuding with Cena, he was riding on that stale "Legend Killer" shtick which was lame. He's like an incredibly intelligent, stylish version of Steve Austin. ;)

    69. Maroon 5 – If I Never See Your Face Again - 32,16,11,5,4,2,8,14,20,23,23,24,37 – 13 Weeks 67. Mariah Carey – Loving You Long Time 36,21,19,18,10,8,6,6,11,16,24,35 – 12 Weeks 62. TI feat Rihanna – Live Your Life - 20,10,6,5,9,13,20,27 – 8 Weeks 59. Timbaland – Scream - 17,3,4,3,5,15,32 – 7 Weeks 58. Ting Tings – Shut Up And Let Me Go 21,11,8,5,4,3,7,9,16,26,36 – 11 Weeks 57. Estelle – American Boy - 37,28,16,10,7,7,8,13,26,39 – 10 Weeks 52. Alicia Keys – Superwoman - 39,31,14,12,9,7,6,6,9,12,19,29,37 – 13 Weeks Superwoman is highly underrated. Her live performances of the song are just mesmerising. I thought Mary J's album was pretty good. It's my favourite of her newer albums. As for Alesha Dixon? I never felt the urge to get it. TBDN was a throwaway pop song. It's not a song to sell an album, which is why she didn't peak that high. Breathe Slow is better and if she continues to throw out tracks like this, it will show she isn't a novelty act. I'm not sold yet, though.
  20. It's a solid song, but like you said, it sounds like a left over from his last album. Lately, everything Justin touches seems to turn into gold.
  21. No-one will ever be able to convince me MD is better than Breakaway. The latter is the definitive Clarkson record, and I think it wll probably stay that way. It's not a negative, as it's pop music as it's best. I'm glad she's ditched the MD schtick. I don't want her to flop again.
  22. Wow, that cover is so inviting...
  23. You know, it could chart, lol. It's my favourite theme song ;) Thanks for the comments, anyway.
  24. This had 25 spins on POP in the last couple of days. It's annoying to see Katy Perry getting tons of pre-adds, but that's to be expected with the success of HnC I guess. I really hope this takes off on the 6th.
  25. That's it. Once Halo starts smashing, I think the album sales will be consistent. I don't know why this album hasn't been more appealing to people. I think it's really good. The second disc (SF) is just magic. It's such a diverse album; Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Dance. I've always prefered her up-beat stuff, so Single Lades, Diva and Radio are probably my favourites. Halo is really good, and the only one on the first disc I can listen to continually.
