Not at all. From a site providing info about stammering here When Stammering Doesn't Happen One thing that all people who stammer have in common, and so far I have not found an exception to this, is that people just don’t stammer when they are singing! This is regardless of how badly that same person stammers when they speak, even someone with a really severe stammer will sing without a hitch. Surely we have to ask ourselves what that means? In my view, there are only two things that can make the difference from a physiological standpoint, and that is the way we breathe when we sing and the area of the brain that we use when we sing. The other time when even some of the severest stammerers are fluent is when they are shouting!

It'll be shown before Christmas - to be followed by the album release presumably next year. Should be interesting and I am very intrigued and excited to find out what type of music he is now doing and how he sounds. Yipee, Gareth's back :D

Didn't work for me, but it looks from the link title to be 'Face Myself', one of two demos found a while back. The other one was called 'Something Right' We assume that, given that they have been floating round for a while, they won't be on the album, but they were a great tonic when they were found. Happy to give a link to the other one (or both), if anyone else wants to hear them

Why? This is an interesting thread Who cares if fans of other artists post as long as its not too inflammatory (or dull and repetitive LOL) and stays on topic. But all of that is for a mod to decide, not us. Goodness, if we run away from discussions all the time we are in trouble.

For me the main thing that pissed me off was some people who said, from day 1 that he put the stammer on for sympathy. Stammers come and go according to stress levels and situations (as indeed do Tourette's tics, as we have all learned through BB this year), but a number of commentators and internet users saw that as evidence that it was being put on. I guarantee when he comes back with a much reduced stammer some ignorant people will start saying it again. Just watch the tabloids do it....

I think we do pretty well from him compared with a number of other artists I like. Some of my other favourites say nothing for years! Getting reports about his work with the McGuire programme, whilst not directly aimed at us, is also fabulous and inspiring, and keeps us going. He has also been pretty great when fans have bumped into him, at airports, up in Glasgow etc etc. But then he has always been amazing with his fans on a face to face basis, even when completley knackered or in a hurry. :wub:

I already own lots of CD's of singers who sing in foreign languages - Italian, Spanish, French etc. Some of which are amongst my favourite albums. But its very hard to find them, even on Amazon. It's a real shame as we in the UK are missing out on some tremendous music through our parochialism and the short sightedness of our majpr record labels and retailers.

Indeed. So who knows what they may have offered? There may have been no offer, there may have been an offer that was packed full of conditions that he wasn't prepared to take, it may have been a rubbish offer financially or there may have been a better offer from elsewhere or from 19 itself. If the latter, we know that the former BMG are notoriously slow at actually 'doing the paperwork' and releasing people even when they dont intend to give them a contract. Who knows. I'm not too sure that I care. All I want is for some new music that Gareth is happy with and wants to put out.

It is ready. However, as you say, there have been so many false press reports in the past - coming back Busted style, coming back with a classical album, coming back as part of Boyzone etc etc etc :P - that I am waiting for something official before I get too excited.

I absolutley loved it at the start but am already starting to get a bit bored with it. Not keen on the video.

I make it a rule never ever to believe anything written by Victoria Newton, unless collaborated elsewhere - and even then rarely as other papers / mags are so lazy and just take their stories from her. It would be a shame if there was any truth in it.

Goodness knows. It's bloody dull isn't it? The last single he released in the Uk was released there also and was very successful. Given that he hasn't since released anything, anywhere, and was away for a break, to sort out his speech and to work on the next album. there would have been no logic in him doing something else specifically for Asia...though I know some bands/ artists have done so in the past. I would assume that when he releases again, he will once again promote there. Shall we get back to Shayne now?

Indeed. It takes effort and committment. If Shayne has that, I wish him well, as I have already said.

We are told Gareth was successful in Asia because he was successful in Asia. I'm sure Shayne will be happy with his success wherever he is successful. I wish him luck.
