Interesting, thanks! I'm still looking for recent examples of songs being certified for digital sales including the "ineligible weeks", I might ask BPI as it was so obvious they wouldn't mind what was(n't) eligible that now you all really made me wonder.

Oh my, please stop with this Christmas theme!! All these oldies should be shortened, I don't know how people don't get bored of listening to them for a millionth time :(

Oh, thanks! I'm wondering that the situation is like with its certs (provided it is certified) as it would be weird to exclude any sales from it. I understand excluding them from current charts as they are misleading in showing what's popular but I don't see why BPI would make a problem including them in the certification.

Were there any examples of them reporting totals without the 'ineligible' weeks, just out of curiosity? Anyway, BPI certifies so I assume they'd consider all the sales, not only the "year-end" OCC's totals. They must have access to the complete database. Besides, the label needs this data as well.

Of course they do count them, they even reported totals for One Direction's ineligible tracks a week before the album came out.

Does it even matter as long as certifications are concerned? Don't they certify for sales regardless of chart eligibility?

Hello everyone! A nice start of the chart and what do we have now? Dear Lord, I still can't believe this bore-fest will be the Christmas number one later on, it's painful to listen to!!!

I'm glad Leona's song got to the Top 3, finally a good Christmas song, way better than the Kelly Clarkson dross which is duly flopping. Now here's hoping that the awful Pharrell's track doesn't reach the top spot in the Christmas week.
