Why search for weird reasons? It didn't do as well as other singles because people liked it less, as simple as that.

In my case it was just a pure ignorance of his music earlier on. It had never particularly caught my attention. Having read in all the death related news about how much of a musical genius he was, I decided to start digging deeper, search for meanings and revolutionary factors in his art and that way I discovered how precious some of his work really is. Sometimes one just needs a context and death is a good occasion to analyse the artist's career deeply and appreciate its unique value.

Is Sia releasing the new album this week? Why is its cover in the opening post?

It's truly disgraceful to have 3 Justin Bieber songs in the Top 3, all of them are totally vile! This Shawn Mendes track is also very ordinary, how come such a non-event song got so high?! All in all, the Top 5 is rather crap this week. :(

"You Don't Own" me is fabulous but it would do without the rap bit!

One Direction still so high in 2016? :o I thought no-one cared for those toddlers anymore... especially listening to such an annoyingly bland piece of music as this one!

This one's not bad either... not great either though.

Another good song :o It's so rare to have several really solid tracks in a row on the UK chart :)

Oh, this one is pleasant and I'm surprised it went Top 10, an interesting mashup.

That "Sax" song was actually quite good!

I never liked this one even though both MNEK and Zara are pretty good as singers

Finally some decent music on the chart :D Excellent score for Motorhead!

what's that? where did it come from? sounds like a crossover between Drake and The Weeknd. Music is so unoriginal these days...

Jesus, what a whiney rubbish! And to think this girl had a couple of good songs last year... very tiresome ballad!

That "Eyes Shut" track was quite boring for Years & Years standards. "King" remains undoubtedly their best effort. Sigma's song on the other hand is cool, as usually! Drake though... go away!

This is definitely the best The Weeknd song, nevertheless he's one of the most overrated acts around.

wow, that grim track wasn't bad at all even though I usually don't like urban music! finally something refreshing in this mainstream mould excited to know where Motorhead will land :D

They no longer play the whole Top 40? :o Well, except for that Craig David new entry that sounds pretty nice, not a big loss for now. :D

Hi everyone! It's been a long time I haven't listened to the chart, hopefully it's not as boring as last year. Anyway here are my retro favourites:

Exactly. One week long number one's is the best thing the British chart has ever delivered. They have all deserved their place thanks to having outsold all other records in those particular weeks and we all know that punctual success doesn't translate to a long-term popularity. For that we have year-end charts after all. Nowadays the chart is simply boring. btw. who's that Jamie Lawson? His song is pretty decent to be fair.

11/16

House Every Weekend is easily the best release this week so I hope it somehow manages to top the chart on Friday. Years & Years are a great act but this new track is terribly average, a far cry from the marvellous King.

who's buying this crap from Spears? :puke:

I'm actually wondering how on earth the travesties such as Trap Queen manage to be so high in the charts :o It's basically unlistenable...

Nice to see you too, "see you again" :D what's CMM?
