  1. "Maps" is clearly underperforming but it's not a flop by any means. It's not like "Payphone" was a number one hit everywhere either, let's not act like they're the biggest contemporary band. For me their best songs remain: Harder To Breathe, This Love, Makes Me Wonder, Wake Up Call and One More Night. Daylight is simply dire and should have flopped harder.
  2. I guess I belong to the same group as I have never liked any of her songs with I Knew You Were Trouble being probably the only one I tolerated.
  3. Well, the last thing I had in my mind while listening to that ridiculous track was fun while Guetta's music is very danceable on virtually each occasion.
  4. What? Do people seriously like this Taylor Swift dross? :o How come such a vile song got to number 1 so quickly? As much as I don't like David Guetta, I just pray he stays well ahead of her until the end of the week and then Lilly Wood & The Prick will be my only hope!
  5. Holy words! I agree 100%.

Fairly obsessive & chart facts + follow the charts in general. Just a question: why "would you say you WAS mad..." instead of WERE? :o
  7. Great news. I guess it's pretty obvious that after introducing a Friday release date, the UK chart will change the tracking period as well. Just like in many other territories it will most likely become Friday-Thursday frame.
  8. but in Spain it's been charting for over 4 months. Response to the topic's question: to get a sure-fire high peak.
  9. I'm obviously speaking for myself AND all the people who share my opinion. That Leah McFall track is such a non-event. I hope it doesn't become a hit.
  10. For general popularity we have year-to-date chart, don't we? Your interpretation of my opinions will not stop me from posting them.
  11. which is great, the last thing we need is to have long-runners at the top, especially when they're already at #1 everywhere else!

    Hopefully #1.
  13. #13. Dreadful song.
  14. Even though I'm not a fan of this "Rude" song, I'd still rather see it topping the chart next week over this criminally bad effort committed by Cheryl Cole and frankly I think she has now little chances of holding her initial lead.
  15. 3-4 no matter how much I like it.

  17. OK so if there's an unreleased album and you pre-order it, you automatically get that one song that was made available as an instant grat? What if there are several instant grat's available? Would you get them all when pre-ordering the album? In this case, it's absolutely normal that these songs are excluded from the singles chart. If, on the other hand, only the (instant grat) song is bought individually, I think it's fair enough to include it in the chart just like all the other album tracks. The difference between a single and an album track is getting thiner and thiner in digital era. I'd go even further and claim it got irrelevant these days.
  18. Well, in this case I'm rather neutral towards them. There are tones of singles that don't get any promotion, have no video or remixes as well.
  19. So what is the difference between them and regular singles?
  20. I'm not sure I genuinely understand their essence. Are they new songs that one only gets by pre-ordering the whole (yet unreleased) album? In this case I dislike them.
  21. That song is painfully bad :o And I used to adore some of her older material... :( I say #4 but would like it to only just scrape a Top 20 to teach her a lesson that this is not the right direction.
  22. I'm not a big Ed Sheeran fan considering most of his output simply boring but I highly appreciate his originality and style that just stands out in today's generic music. "Sing" is a small crime in his CV due to teaming up with the bloody awful Pharrell but ultimately it's not his worst song. Shame only this sound could give him a number one though. My ratings would be: 1. Give Me Love (brilliant!) 2. You Need Me, I Don't Need You 3. I See Fire 4. Drunk 5. Sing 6. The A Team 7. Lego House 8. Small Bump
  23. What is this old turd by Austin Mahone and Pitbull doing on pre-orders? I was sure it had already charted and flopped. I guess we'll have to go through this rubbish again. :( Based on pre-orders alone, I see that a good period for the UK chart is slowly finishing as a lot of dross is just waiting to invade the chart...
  24. Oh no, even though the SecondCity track is nothing special, I still prefer it over this whiny ballad from Sam Smith¡ Besides, I don't want him to spend 2 weeks at the top (well, I don't want any song to remain on top for longer than a week but that is another story )
  25. Only physicals for me in both.
