iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 25th May 2014
Even though I don't really like the SecondCity song, I have absolutely loved the dance domination this year and am hoping it can carry on especially at this speed with one week-long number ones which makes the chart dynamic hence so interesting to follow. I'm scared to think that urban/rap/r&b might ever return to the upper reaches. These recent Iggy Azalea/Ariana Grande/Eminem/Timberlake/Minaj/Usher tracks are just plain vile :puke:

Klingande v Secondcity
OK so I'll be the first to predict Klingande's victory. Jubel has been available to pre-order since the beginning of the year so in spite of its low positions most of the time, I think it has cumulated enough sales to eclipse Secondcity on the first midweek chart and now both tracks are quite close on iTunes so I hope it can somehow maintain that #1 position. Obviously Jubel is MUCH better than I Wanna Feel. I find the latter very overrated and boring.

Shockingly I like all of the iTunes Top 6 :o (well, at least I did before this German Whip dross took the 6th position :P)

The Wanted Top 12 Selling Singles
So they'll wrap their career up with two half a million selling songs ultimately, not bad. When it comes to tracks I couldn't stand from them, well, there are many :D Heart Vacancy, Gold Forever and The Lightning would likely be my tips for the worst of the worst.

Hard to tell which one is more cringe worthy

Retroactive featured artist credits
Yes, I suppose. Perhaps I should have chosen "as a footnote" though...

Predict: Rita Ora - I Will Never Let You Down
I have never been a big fan of her with the only good singles being "Shine Ya Light" and "Hot Right Now" up to now. This new song is sadly another huge disappointment. Such a basic, generic piece of bubblegum pop with this annoying Calvin Harris typical sound, the most overrated producer of the moment. Truly awful return :puke: I'm predicting number 6.

PREDICT: Iggy Azalea - Fancy (feat. Charli XCX)
Terrible song! It will likely go Top 10, hopefully not as high as Top 5 so let's say number 6 (I'm hoping for a lower peak though)

Paolo Nutini Caustic Love
I reckon a little over 50,000 I wish it was the Highest of 2014    He's probably the most talented artist of the 21st century with a unique blend of pop/rock/soul/folk, an absolutely gorgeous lad!

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 30th March 2014
On the contrary! The chart is finally exciting again after several years of a boring stability, I truly hope we can reach the turnover rate from the year 2000, fabulous days in the history of the UK chart! How can you tell the chart is predictable these days? Even in today's chart most people were predicting "Changes" to have a shot at number one based on a huge international popularity and a long build up, after seeing its iTunes chart performance we know it has no chances. As per the same iTunes chart day-by-day it's Duke Dumont who's likely to grab the throne again, yet 5SOS's pre-orders were so high that led to the immense 45,000 worth gap last Tuesday. Duke could have potentially battle it out but we're still to know that in the evening. Who knows? Besides, I'm sure Aloe Blacc wasn't a dead cert for next week's number one either. To me his lead comes as a surprise.

Music Purchases This Week: Week Beginning 24/3/14
That's more Volksmusik than Schlager even though they're pretty similar, the target demography difference consisting in Volksmusik's fair share of drunk people alongside old people

Music Purchases This Week: Week Beginning 24/3/14
Not at all :) I'm just surprised that of all the variety of German music, this curiosity was picked :P
-
Is this the end of 99p downloads?
Good news for the charts, no more random oldies making their resurgences all of a sudden based purely on a discounted price. Fair play!

Music Purchases This Week: Week Beginning 24/3/14
Seriously? She's a Schlager star. That's the most awkward and cringeworthy genre in Germany considered as music for old, retired people from lower classes. Even though she's recently trying to go a dance/pop route, her melodies are still unbelievably cheap and tacky...

Where do you usually hear new music first?
YouTube mostly for me, sometimes Spotify. I never listen to the radio, the chart show (occasionally) aside.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 9th March 2014
This song is anything but great  I hope it never gets released
-
Predict: Mr. Probz - Waves (Robin Schulz Remix)
#4, I reckon
-
The multiple version issue
Definitely no. Multiple versions of the same song usually impact only its first week so it allows the track debut higher which is always a good thing for the chart's dynamism. Everyone is entitled to release as many versions of his songs as he wants so it's fair play.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 16th February 2014
Seriously this iTunes chart looks disgraceful with the atrocities from Pharrell, Great Big World, Katy Perry, Zedd, Pitbull and Will.i.am

PREDICT: Foxes - Let Go For Tonight
Easily the best song I've ever heard from her. I'm going to be insane and am voting for #1. :D
-
Are you more likely now to wait for a re-released album?
I always wait as I wouldn't spend even 10 pounds on an album unless I am seriously crazy about it which doesn't happen too often.

OCC: Sophie Ellis-Bextor Top 20 Singles
I listened to the whole Top 20 and I must say that about half of it sounds like a throwaway pop. I'm actually surprised as I used to like her a lot. I still love some of the pearls of this countdown (Bittersweet, Heartbreak, Murder On The Dancefloor, Get Over You, Catch You and Groovejet) but having gone through the whole thing, now I get why her career went downhill so quickly.
