Loreen - Tattoo
It was only the staging.

Jessica Folcker - Jessica (1998, pre-Brit Max Martin record)
Don't forget Leila K! wYnX8-qqDmc If Denniz Pop hadn't passed away tragically, I doubt Max Martin would've been as famous.

Padam Padam ● 1st single
Poor Radio 1 is having a tough one - first a Eurovision winner that's pushing 40 legitimately scores a proper hit, then Kylie scores a hit on her own without piggybacking. Are Radio 1 ok? Have we checked on them lately? :(

Padam Padam ● 1st single
Imagine the chaos if it wouldn't have made the top 10 :kink:

CBBC Hits Medley: tT6DiNwJdRU It's the usual Neon Nights hits medley, but I don't remember seeing this specific one before.

Rita Ora feat. Fatboy Slim - Praising You
Nope, it's bouncing around a bit on iTunes but seemingly doing nothing on streaming.

Leigh-Anne - Don't Say Love • 1st Single
Pretty much the same - like, it's not bad especially for a former girl group member video, but considering how much she seems to dissect it herself to have a deeper meaning and all the talk of having a big budget, going to an exotic location to shoot it and none of that shows in the video so it's like... wut? I get that she's excited but she needs to calm down a bit.

Padam Padam ● 1st single
Aww, it would've been a much more fun week if this had charted at #11! :(

Vulgar ● Collaboration with Sam Smith
It climbed a place in the midweeks!!!! Coming to smash it!!!

Leigh-Anne - Don't Say Love • 1st Single
Exactly - it's an ok video for a girl group member going solo, but all the talk about it being high budget and... this is it? Definitively a bit of a shooting herself in the foot moment, but overall the general public won't have heard/remember her interviews, so it's not a big deal.

Spice Girls • Spotify / Apple Music / iTunes / YouTube
Don't get why they removed Move Over, but at least they added Step to Me, so that's something.

The Saturdays
You're missing the point; N-Dubz actually sold albums, The Saturdays only sold well with their first album (again, they were hailed as the Girls Aloud replacement), had mediocre sales for their second, passable for their repackaged thing and then flop, followed by a bigger flop and a greatest hits that did mediocre (but is being helped by streaming in the long run). They're clearly appealing to different audiences. But yes, a Mighty Hoopla slot would probably be the most realistic thing for a reunion for them. But I think the main reason why they aren't reuniting is because it's not a lucrative venture for them - they'll have to split it five ways (plus with people surrounding them), they didn't write the majority of their stuff and they can't tour bigger venues. They also weren't about the vocals, so it's hard for them to do a scaled down stage show where they all just stand and sing and do some improvised dance routines (a la Sugababes). The truth is that they probably just earn more money doing random presenting stuff.

Sugababes - The Lost Tapes (8th "studio" album)
I think it's worth thinking that would have to sort out printing and distribution themselves and considering they're recording new stuff at the moment they might want to focus on that, plus not risk taking away the whole "comeback album" thing from their next release. I'm sure The Lost Tapes will eventually be out on some sort of physical format, but I imagine it'll be fairly low-key and possibly after their next album.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Exactly - in the same time frame you had Diana Ross (55) scoring a #9 single with Not Over You Yet and Tina Turner (60) scoring a #10 single; mind you, neither had impressive chart runs, but it could be done in the days when week one meant more. Padam Padam is an outlier today in the sense that it's clearly a crossover hit that's reached beyond her usual audience, and yes, the same situation with Cher's Believe. It's also weird to compare the chart runs to a time when you had weeks of building up to the single release too and the most pirating people did was recording it off the radio to a cassette.

Mel B • General Discussion
Feels So Good should've easily been her first single - it sounds like a proper "big pop star" song from around that time. I could see why people would dislike Tell Me though; it is sort of tacky to sing blatantly about your ex like that (even if they're a no-good hustler). I like both songs though, but it does feel like a screw up not to just go for Feels So Good and Hotter as the one-two punch.

Beverley Knight - The Fifth Chapter
I blame TikTok and the kids short attention span today! Get off my lawn, cretins!!!! This and Padam Padam both needs an bridge + extra chorus.

Gaga partners with Pfizer Nurtec
I doubt it'll affect her career in the long run, but this is such a horrible look as big pharma always comes across as more than just a little bit shady in their business dealings. Either she has really bad business advisors or she's simply not listening to them.

What should have been the 4th single from Dannii's GIRL?
I don't think anything could've saved it at that point and at best would've gone top 30, but since Someone New and Keep Up With The Good Times weren't on the album those are out. If It Moves - Dub It is terrible, so no. It's not my favourite, but considering Movin' Up had already been a hit in some markets, it might've been the one song that had the best shot to do anything even if it doesn't fit the overall vibe they seemingly were going for.

The Saturdays
Except N-Dubz actually sold albums, which is the purpose of releasing singles anyway; their first album went 2xPlatinum with the following two albums going Platinum; their least successful album venture is their greatest hits which is "only" Gold. After they split up the first time 8 of their singles has gone Silver, one Gold, one Platinum and of course the Tinchy Stryder collab 2xPlatinum, indicating that there's been a steady streaming interest in them over the years. I just don't think you can compare their successes because they're clearly appealing to a different section of the market.

Emma Bunton • General Discussion
It's really odd, because I don't even think they were all sold out dates? So it wasn't like it was massively successful and a great demand to begin with. As you said, if she'd release a Christmas album to justify the tour it would be more understandable.
