  1. Calm down, the song obviously has life in it left. It's not a fanbase only track.
  2. Already over 50k sold! It'll obviously pass Silver at this point, but could it go Gold?
  3. Cassettes available this week!

Oh well. It'll fall out next week, but hopefully it can garner some "sales" via streaming over time, even if it's just a few hundred copies here and there.
  5. I think the reaction from her fanbase is kind of muted because they know that if Popular is a hit, it won't be because of Madonna but because of the Weeknd, plus it's unlikely to do much for her career either way. I just think it's hard to work up any hype for something that doesn't really feel "earned" at a lack of better words.
  6. Popular I get though - she's a small part of the song and it's obvious that it was something she was tagged onto rather than being creatively involved. With Vulgar she's clearly involved with it more heavily (hence why she seems to promote it more) so I'd expect it to sail up to number one much more easy, especially with her rabid fanbase. Have they all started streaming too?
  7. Slightly surprised it's not #1 to be honest - I thought this would be more appealing to the Madonna fans as she obviously features more on it.
  8. It took seven writers to write this. I wonder what parts Ryan Tedder wrote?
  9. It wasn't a massive hit, but it was hardly a "cancel-all-other-plans" sort of performance. It fell hard in it's second week, but managed to stay in the top 40 for seven weeks, which wasn't awful in those days (for comparison - Free Me and Maybe stayed in the top 40 for six weeks and I'll Be There for four). I think they had far too big expectations if a top five was a disappointment.
  10. Pretty much - I feel like once they scrapped the Disco Sister direction she had nowhere to go; which is a shame really, because I feel like people were clearly receptive towards upbeat fun Geri. I don't think any of the Spice's would've been hugely successful at that point, but with a solid direction and singles I could've seen her having a moderately successful run for a solo Spice album. It's just weird to me how Ride It going in at #4 basically sent them back to the drawing table.
  11. Off topic but, LorQueen looks to be comfortable in the top ten for a fourth week :drama:
  12. I believe so, hence Someone New and Push being there.
  13. Apparently this was briefly uploaded on Soundcloud about ten years ago, but obviously Nadia needed time to perfect the production of it  I hope this means that more music from her is coming.
  14. I feel like the reaction even from Madonna's fans have been muted - hell, I'd argue you can see that with the iTunes performance; her audience is mostly older (35+) and the fact that it couldn't get into the top 3 there makes me think they aren't really here for it. It's another hit to her name, but one that she really can't use to launch anything from (unless she ends up recording a solo version that gets popular on its own).

Oh that's nice. I don't think she was ever destined to be a major pop star, but with proper support I could've seen her in Robyn / Tove Lo territory.
  16. It wasn't shade, I'm just not that big of a fan and Perrie's name escaped me at that moment and I was too lazy to look it up.

She and Joel Corry have a collab coming out soon-ish apparently. I'd assume that will be pushed as her next single and they'll quietly forget End of Time ever happened (unless she pulls a Melanie C and films a new video and re-releases it).
  18. So if people started buying the single and sent it to random adresses it would count as a sale?
  19. It sounds like it has banger potential. I think they're also smart to launch her first - it feels like she'll probably struggle more than both Jade and the blonde one commercially.

  21. Right. Then I'd think PTB might end up going 2xPlatinum next, but it's hard to say how much they're all selling without regular sales updates.

I listened to it while walking today and on the first listen I thought it was a little bland, but I started coming around to it on the second listen. Feels like a grower.
  23. Out of their albums, I'd assume Three and Taller has a bigger chance of going triple platinum before One Touch goes platinum. But studio album drip sales for them are minimal so that's unlikely to happen. Out of their singles, I'm guessing Round Round will either go Gold or Push The Button will eventually go 2xPlatinum. But those are also a fair bit off. We need more sales updates (and the front page of this thread to be updated).
