  1. And this has a fourth song...?
  2. I feel like that's a debatable opinion.
  3. Wait, people want to listen to this?

OKCvgksrykw They thought this was a good promo song for the album?
  5. Even *I* think it's harsh to compare poor Heidi to Jenny.
  6. That could be a good / interesting fit for her actually - especially if they manage to marry that electronica / dance sound with rockier / frantic sensibilites.

Unfortunately, with Me, Myself & I doing literally nothing and cancelling the tour to explore "tv and film opportunities" this all screams that they know the album will bomb badly. I hope it at least can achieve a decent peak, but it's looking rather bleak at the moment.
  8. To be honest, is it better to have shoddy releases than none at all? It's not like there's a shortage of things being released onto the market to spend your hard-earned money on.
  9. I got the impression there might've been some connection with Simon Fuller / 19 Management considering they also signed people like Rosie Ribbons and The Cheeky Girls? I think they also made a big deal out of her signing a "£1.5 million contract", though I guess depending on how many albums the contract spanned and how the pay outs were planned I'm not sure if it was such a huge deal; by some accounts they signed Rosie Ribbons for a £1 million deal spanning five albums (speaking of bad investments!). To be honest, Victoria just never had a chance by the time she released Let Your Head Go / This Groove. The label was seemingly already in ruin and it's not like her time table was massively off from her first release. At worst you could argue they might've wanted to get something out in the summer of 2003 instead of late winter, but I don't think she would've saved the label from folding even if she had a multiple week number one record.
  10. Poor Victoria gets so much flack for Telstar going bankrupt, but that label seemed to be really incompetently built - by all accounts, the financial troubles also started before Let Your Head Go / This Groove; Rosie Ribbons (former Pop Idol, remember that?) got a rather decent deal with them and was dropped after her second single. They also seemed to go hard with "celebs" like Clare Sweeney etc. I don't think anything could've saved Telstar by the time they actually unleashed LYHG / TG; if anything The Real Beckhams DVD was just a last ditch attempt to make something back.
  11. Well, now he can spend more time promoting Ava Maxx. But seriously, I wonder if it's more like he's folding up his business? It seems random that all these stars all of a sudden would decide that he's no good considering it's not like he's done anything particularly terrible lately (well, more terrible than before) to make them all leave.

The good news is that by all accounts they're using the data that The Lost Tapes have generated to gauge interest and where - even if they don't stay indie, I'm sure they could use that as a negotation tactic with a label (look at what we achieved as a low-key independent release is probably a good selling point).

It's a shame really that they'll likely keep everything limited, but I get it - they're doing this on their own dime and having a bunch of cds/vinyls stuck in Mutya's mom's attic storage for years for the purpose of keeping them in print probably isn't appealing to any of them, especially as they'd have to consistently order smaller amounts as to not overstock them too much, while at the same time having to take a loss from the overhead price of ordering a smaller amount of copies.
  14. Quick, someone post the only and best Melanie C Gimme More cover (which wasn't done by AI).
  15. I'm guessing that the video will end up on the shelf. I doubt even remixes will be released at this point.
  16. Pretty much. Early on there seemed to be optimism around it, but then radio didn't playlist it and they just shuffled it under the rug, probably not wanting to harm Dannii's new found tv popularity.
  17. Funnily enough I actually was at a Ayra Starr set the other week. She's cute, but used a lot of padding so she's obviously very green. Interesting to see how this does for them both.
