  1. Trust Kylie fans to make things that are out of her control into it.
  2. The Way Out West performance was a mess, let's just leave it at that. Technically competent, but you don't do "performance art" in front of a largely casual audience. I was right at the front and I heard audience members mutter "I don't know any of these songs" as they were leaving. It was painful trying to be the lone hyped audience member. Ouch. Although part of me just thinks it's the ultimate punk move.

I think it'll depend on how "limited" this is. They obviously have an overseas fanbase whose sales won't count in the UK and I'm unsure how many copies of this the girls dared to have printed considering it's their own money that they're sinking into it. I could imagine the black vinyl being maybe a few thousand copies? I guess they could send out the remaining ones to stores.

I'm guessing it's a case of his label pushing the impact date back?

LOL, of course they'd announce this when I was busy with other things - good to see the Silver vinyl sell out so fast at least! I'll make do with the black one. :D The shipping at Townsend is so ridiculous though - hopefully it won't get stuck in customs like the One Touch formats got.

She performed the original Jag kommer with Veronica Maggio yesterday
  7. If The Hits & Beyond had still been in print during the X-Factor years I could've seen it eventually going Silver (it's at 45k), but now? I doubt it. As I said, I think any miniscule streaming "sales" would go towards This Is It: The Very Best of.
  8. It's odd to wish an album that hasn't gone Silver yet to go Gold. Also, I'd assume any streams from her hits might go towards This Is It: The Very Best of since it's more recent and complete.

Well, there's an extended cut of Dirt Femme coming out with her latest singles Borderline, I Like U and Elevator Eyes: h5_Jd20TINo Supposedly out on Friday.
  10. Based on the sales of her other reissues, I'd say around 2-3k.
  11. It's such a shame that BMG haven't sent her out on a mini-tour to key markets in Europe. If there's one thing they've gotten wrong so far, it's that (then again, I don't know Kylie's schedule so maybe it's just not possible).
  12. Skin Deep randomly came up on shuffle and what a nice little mid-90s dance tune it is! Maybe we should have a listening party to this one.
  13. I was reading John Waters' book Mr Know-It-All and in one section he goes through the history of Richard "Dimples" Fields "She's Got Papers On Me" and the responses it for whatever reason provoked. To first start off with the track it has its roots in per mr Waters - Shirley Brown's "Woman to Woman"; a classic tune about a woman calling his husband's mistress and letting her know what's what. kiXn_NLkc1I On the flip side "She's Got Papers On Me" is about the cheating man singing about how his wife's got "papers" on him. It would be a rather uninteresting fare if it wasn't for Betty Wright that shows up about four and a half minute, letting that cheating dog know that he's gonna have to give her mon-ay to be free and he's gotta go. "Well, well, well..." indeed! B1C41hRkwV4 For whatever reason, Barbara Mason felt the urge not so much to respond to mr Dimples', but Betty Wright, letting her know that she might have the papers, but Barbara has the man! Self-reflectingly, she at least admits that she "has no pride". 2QVRjGDUKts But wait! Barbara isn't the only one who claimed mr Dimples', but Jean Knight also declared that while Betty's got the papers, she also got the man! Is mr Dimples' possibly cheating on them all? More on that later, but Jean's take is definitively a bit nastier than Barbara's rather laid back put down. "Dealin' with class honey, not trash" Jean proclaims, while also saying that poor Betty's a poor housekeeper, has cheap clothes, an old car and getting fat! Just when you think poor Betty can't take more abuse, in comes mr Dimples' sound-a-like Premium, singing about how he's no longer getting pimples thanks to leaving Betty. FpCjDP84QA0 Thankfully, it seems like Betty Wright isn't too worried as she bounced back, bidding adieu to mr Dimples (or is it mr Premium?) and getting a new lover. "Dear mr Look-So-Good", Betty starts off -"speakin' of papers: this paper is to inform you I'm gone, me and the furniture". You go Betty, despite having a crappy house, cheap clothes and an old car, it's truly never too late to start over, though I hope the lyric about leaving that old dog is just a metaphor. e24_clRYTM0 Unfortunately for Barbara Mason, how you get them, is how you lose them - though this time with a disco twist! "Another Man" explains what happened to their relationship - "I had gone out one day and bought me a very, very sexy dress", Barbara explains. "And opened up my closet and it had disappeared... Lord I hope the man is not wearing my -- oooh child!!!". 9odNbuVXBDQ Now that apparently mr Dimples is a cross-dressing gay man, Tout Sweet felt the need to another chapter to the story with "Another Man is Twice As Nice" - seemingly not only declaring that Betty's paramour is gay as f*** now, but also daring the mistress into lesbianism: "he's got a lady too and I already know he's crazy about you". qwea4W1xKMA Unfortunately, this is seemingly the end of the story, but who knows? Maybe someone else will add another chapter to the story now that it's been 40 or so years since the last one?
  14. It's a shame this never got off the ground really - it's an interesting period. I think she even performed Free Your Love and Everlasting Night on television, but aside from audio recordings, it's never surfaced.
  15. Honestly, I think Love's On Every Corner would've done better with a more colorful video + promotion. I do not get what they were going for with the whole "goth girl who refuses to wash her hair" look. Add that they had a slightly odd release schedule for the formats + was released in a competitive time of the year and it was doomed.
  16. Pretty much what was expected since it was obvious they cleared the vaults for the previous re-issue (plus we know it was rushed, hence the slightly eclectic mix of sounds).
  17. I don't think you can compare Kylie, a 55 year old pop star whose last major hit in the US was over 20 years ago, with Zayn, a 30 year old who was in a major boy band with a large obsessive fan base and at least "only" has a gap of six years between the major hits. I think Kylie charting on any format in the US is an achievement considering other major pop stars like Mariah Carey also struggles to chart there. And unlike Mariah, the US has always been more of a bonus market for her.

  24. It'll start soaring up the charts in September when everyone's coming home from Ibiza x
  25. Well, that's good - I was worried the Vegas residency would take away from her other promotional activities, but around a dozen shows means that they're spaced out enough for her to be able to travel during the weeks.
