I think one week is all we're gonna get. Think of all the people watching X Factor, all the fans of Austin, Diana, Alexandra, JLS. They will all buy that charity single next week but thats not a problem, not a surprise. GA getting their (hopefully) 4th no.1 is the best news ever.

Not if you add the 8 million people who watched SCD last night, it may not of been available for d/l after but its given the song an even wider appeal. Children In Need is bloody solid too, if she gets a good slot (which i think she will with the SCD links).

That promo is bloody impressive, better than The Sats, Suga's or GA's.

I hope it keeps up on iTunes, FNW Jonathan Ross should help too.

I agree that SKO and CTS (with NGA, Biology and Love Machine also deserving IMO) deserved no.1 if 'The Promise' gets it. But as a fan i just see it as taking their tally of 3 #1's to 4 ... only a good thing for the band. It will also inspire them to get/make even more chart-toppers. I think 'The Promise' has not only grown on people the most a song has in a while but has also opened GA to an even wider audience, i mean my mum can't stop whistling it and my mates mum is even off out to buy it as her first single in about 10 years! If 'The Promise' goes to the top, i think (unless some stupid dance act or novelty act steals it like most other times) 'The Loving Kind', by the sounds of the clip, will do it too.
