  1. Are the Capital sessions pasrt of Radio 2?! Why are they gonna be on their website?!
  2. A-list on radio 2, B-list (and A-list in the next two weeks) on radio 1 ... what more could we ask?! Its gonna dent the top 20 airplay this week and possibly even go top 15.
  3. LOVE IT! There's just something about that picture! I agree though, the font isnt great but its not disgusting!
  4. Its actually incredible that they're still hanging around!!
  5. Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts has blasted Chris Moyles, claiming that the Radio 1 DJ has bullied her for six years based on her looks. Moyles recently insulted the singer on his show, saying: "What's with the long face, horsey chops? Give us a smile." Responding to Moyles's attacks in Heat, Roberts said: "Enough's enough, Chris. Shut the f*** up! "This argument doesn't bother me any more. I've grown out of it - it's six years old. "His obsession with me needs to stop. I don't care what he says about me, but what bothers me is that there are loads of people being bullied for the way they look or act. They are made to feel s*** about themselves because they don't conform to how society wants them to be. "I have bright red hair, pale skin and, yeah, I can be quite shy, but that doesn't mean I'm rude or miserable. I'm growing up, I'm learning and I'm slowly becoming more confident." Roberts's bandmate Cheryl Cole has also criticised Moyles, saying: "I find what he says about my friend really offensive and upsetting."

Down to #5 in wednesdays mid-weeks.
  7. Thanks tom. I've updated the sales and with those extra figures it takes the girls sales to around 5.2 million!
  8. Me too, i cant wait to get it through the door in a weeks time!!
  9. Still no confirmation on the Tangled Up dvd, i so hope its released on 20th Oct but i really doubt that rumor is true. I wish they'd just hurry up, they must know it would make a great xmas pressie!
  10. Not that much really. Heart and Magic are bigger, they both take over 6% of listeners in London - Capital takes just over 4%. Whereas GMTV reaches over 13 million weekly. Remember record buyers arent just from London, the capital only accounts for a 5th of the UK. Either way i still think No.1 is out of reach along with no.2. This is gonna peak at no.3.
  11. I think its peak could be #3 actually, looking at the list of promo. There's no more big tv promo left really, apart from Al Murreys, i dont think the radio sessions will help it you see. All the promo should be a week later than it is, hence they should of done SCD and T4 this weekend and seen it soar up with the physicals next week (or at least left GMTV until next week).

Girls Aloud were at no.9 (around 100 copies away from no.8) before they performed on X Factor last year too though?! Nah, The Promise is released digitally and physically on 27th Oct with the album following 2 weeks later on 10th November.

I think i've been right all along, its not going to be no.1 but i think no.2 is likely.
  14. Few million watch GMTV but i dont think the kids and housewives can distinguish between live and mimed anyway! They cant dance to save their lives either though!
  15. Its all over Galaxy though AND b-list at R1! Maybe this sunday we will see it crack top 50, maybe even the top 30. Its all about the tv promo for The Saturdays though i think...
  16. I have to post this, its just the article where Kim reveals the title but it's just a great interview - click
  17. OMG, such amazing news. Im being spoilt, i really am! Out Of Control = the best album title this year!! Just something about it ... The tour - 'Girls Aloud ... Out Of Control LIVE!' it just sounds right!!
  18. If it was a choice between either, i think the US move might just win for me. The only plus points for X Factor is getting GA's name out there and keeping them for us soley in the UK!

Discovery - DEADLIEST CATCH (Tue 21:01) 216k Dave - LIVE AT THE APOLLO (Tue 21:40) 532k E4 - HOLLYOAKS (Tue 19:00) 911k Hallmark - LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT (Mon 21:00) 219k That further proves my point that the upcoming EMA's wont have much effect at all on the UK charts. Its not that i dont like MTV or even the EMA's, just that they dont get many viewers and therefore wont have the effect of X Factor and SCD on the charts.

MTV One's premier showing of VMA's 2008 reached a mere 153,000 people. Compare that to BBC3's repeat of Eastenders which received over 1 million viewers and even a repeat of Tracey Beaker on the CBBC channel reaching over 300k and its nothing! The EMA's itself and even MTV doesnt gain much viewership or attention and therefore doesnt have much effect on the charts.

No, i LOVE it! Give me The Hills and Brooke Knows Best all day long! Im making a judgement based on stats. Many people have lost faith in MTV since it has stopped showing pure music video's and have moved over to The Box and The Hits, plus it gets hardly any viewers (especially compared to the likes of BBC1, C4 and even ITV2 and Sky One).

Yeah in America they're a bit of a deal but here no-one really cares about MTV itself, never mind award shows shown! Dido releases her album the week after 'The Promise' and even though her single is out the same week as GA she will be focusing on promoting the album and therefore will save most promo for the week after.
  23. All recording has finished, so theres no need for us to worry about a delay! Nadine said 2 weeks ago on Radio 1 that all that was needed to be done was to pick the final songs and add them to the tracklist. I can imagine this could just of only been completed due to decisions being made left, right and centre by the management, the girls themselves and the record company. I have a feeling this time around that the vocals will be shared much more than ever before, the reason for this - the tour. Sarah really shone this year (more than ever before), hence she gets the most on 'The Promise'. Over the years they've all improved so much vocally and i reckon now people feel ready for the tracks to be shared more as all girls are capable. I think Nadine is always going to have the most to sing overall, but instead of it being mainly her and Cheryl on tracks i think we could hear more of the lead being shared between others, eg. Nadine + Sarah and dare i say it Nicola + Kim (with hardly any Nadine!).

Give it time Jack, its grown on everyone else so it might do on you in the near future. BTW the EMA's are a big thing in the music calander in terms of the artists and record labels but not in the general buying public's eyes. It will be watched by less than 100k people in the UK, that means it will have hardly any influence over the charts (even if it is in Liverpool this year).
