MTV One's premier showing of VMA's 2008 reached a mere 153,000 people. Compare that to BBC3's repeat of Eastenders which received over 1 million viewers and even a repeat of Tracey Beaker on the CBBC channel reaching over 300k and its nothing! The EMA's itself and even MTV doesnt gain much viewership or attention and therefore doesnt have much effect on the charts.

No, i LOVE it! Give me The Hills and Brooke Knows Best all day long! Im making a judgement based on stats. Many people have lost faith in MTV since it has stopped showing pure music video's and have moved over to The Box and The Hits, plus it gets hardly any viewers (especially compared to the likes of BBC1, C4 and even ITV2 and Sky One).

Yeah in America they're a bit of a deal but here no-one really cares about MTV itself, never mind award shows shown! Dido releases her album the week after 'The Promise' and even though her single is out the same week as GA she will be focusing on promoting the album and therefore will save most promo for the week after.

All recording has finished, so theres no need for us to worry about a delay! Nadine said 2 weeks ago on Radio 1 that all that was needed to be done was to pick the final songs and add them to the tracklist. I can imagine this could just of only been completed due to decisions being made left, right and centre by the management, the girls themselves and the record company. I have a feeling this time around that the vocals will be shared much more than ever before, the reason for this - the tour. Sarah really shone this year (more than ever before), hence she gets the most on 'The Promise'. Over the years they've all improved so much vocally and i reckon now people feel ready for the tracks to be shared more as all girls are capable. I think Nadine is always going to have the most to sing overall, but instead of it being mainly her and Cheryl on tracks i think we could hear more of the lead being shared between others, eg. Nadine + Sarah and dare i say it Nicola + Kim (with hardly any Nadine!).

Give it time Jack, its grown on everyone else so it might do on you in the near future. BTW the EMA's are a big thing in the music calander in terms of the artists and record labels but not in the general buying public's eyes. It will be watched by less than 100k people in the UK, that means it will have hardly any influence over the charts (even if it is in Liverpool this year).

No, i really dont. I have sang since the age of 4, i think i know what im talking about when it comes to live vocals. It was MIMED with elements of live singing, the final mix i would say was 70% mimed and 30% live. I dont need to argue, i know whats live and whats not and that definately featured mostly pre-recorded vocals. On the other hand the SCD performance was live and very good indeed.

It wont get number 1, its all been too early. The physical should be released tommorow at the peak of promotion and airplay but instead its being dragged out until next week. It wouldnt surprise me if this falls next week or at the very most sticks at #2.

I predict no.3 in tuesdays mids and by the Sunday it of fallen to no.4, then the Sunday after reach its peak of no.2 and have about 7 more weeks in the top 40.

Now its made the C-list at R1 i expect it to move up in next weeks to top 20 and then get budged up to B-list at R1 and go top 10 the week after.

Yeah nice and live at SCD unlike at T4 which without a doubt was mainly mimed. I know what im talking about and it certainly wasnt fully live, pick out what you want but my points stand up. Wonder how much effect SCD will have?

Im not disputing that they're really good live (well Amelle and Keisha are amazing) im just saying that them miming isnt adding to the fact that this project isnt exactly their best in terms of song, video, management and now live performances. Here's to SCD in 4 hours...

So you're saying Keisha's verse WAS mimed?! Because to me it was, all of it was. Amelle mimed SO badly and you cant say that you didnt see Heidi come in too early but not actually hear anything! Also there was a clearly pre-recorded ad-lib by Heidi in the third chorus. It was all mimed but i may be right in saying that Heidi did sing live on the chorus. The last chorus sounds the same as the first even though Keisha is meant to be singing ad-libs (therefore taking a voice away from the balance) further proving that it was mimed. Maybe it will change for tonight, although most people cant spot miming so it might not matter anyway. But to me, it just makes me wonder what the hell is going on with them at the moment.

LOL it was mimed, trust me! Amelle was the one that gave it away for me and then when Keisha did her part perfectley it just confirmed it! Look at the part where Amelle sings the last line of the 2nd verse and Heidi sings an extra few words with her mic up - no sound comes from her until a few lines later proving that their mics werent switched on. It was a pre-recorded vocal and i have a fear that they may use it on SCD tonight :(
