  1. IMO its better than all of the above apart from WLH and WMU in some cases.
  2. Either way, it wont of happened!
  3. But how can someone ever be pleased? Many people have many opinions, but taking the general publics opinion (ie, sales of 500k-1million for an album) is the best bet of gaging how well deserved an award.
  4. Its only predictible because they were the most successful acts of last year, they all had no.1 albums and huge singles so no wonder they were nominated - no need to be bitter really. Shame for the Babes but no-one actaully expected it, i wonder if the girls will snub the Brits to make a fresh start with the new album?

Next year for album and live. So happy for these two though, they were nominated for the same last year so they better win one this year. Lets all get voting for best singleon the night!
  6. A single hanging around the top 15 too, hmm not so much a flop!
  7. i'd say GO is/was safer than CSF
  8. Nah, they're just presenting apparently.
  9. They're also presenting the Brits Nominations with Fearne Cotton tommorow night on ITV2 at 8pm, this along with a performance (WHICH IS INCREDIBLE AND SHOWS HOW WELL RESPECTED THEY NOW ARE) should guarentee at least one nom right?!
  10. That was all added to the total sales. Was there need for a new topic, it could of been put in that. Either way, thank you.
  11. I think you're slightly right, but it was the fact it was xmas too. They've had a rather busy couple of months with the album and TP so they deserved a break. Maybe the single should of been released two weeks later so the girls could have the chance to promote it, either way its sold pretty well and they did do some promo unlike most other artists (Kanye West). I CANNOT believe it was no.1 on airplay but no.10 on the officials. I mean i know it happened with Jennifer Hudson but wow. Well done for them though, i remember two years ago when i hardly ever heard GA on the radio. Ever since CTS radio has loved them and two no.1 airplay hits in a row prove that. Well done girls, off an album close to selling 700k in 3 months their single still goes top 10. If there's a next one then do a little more promo near the time and it should go top 10 (#8, #9 or #10) and make it 21 consecutives.
  12. Its soooo close to 1million, would i be correct in saying they would be the first girlband to reach 1million since SG? It has to have 47k left in it right?
  13. TLK surpasses 3 previous single sales to make it their 17th best selling single so far. TP and OOC have updated sales, im just not sure if 1 weeks sales for both have been lost? As it re-enters the top 10 (again) SOGA surpasses 950k, could they be the first girlband since Spice Girls to have a million selling album? They're only 47k away. GA have clearly surpassed 6.3 million record sales so far.
  14. I agree, i think the next single (if there is one) will be promoted better and nearer the date of release and will guarentee a top 10 placing, it wont be overshadowed by the album and TP as much either so that could help it. Also, if they appear at The Brits, get nommed (which they have to), perform (which i think they will, they're BRITISH and certainly filling the SG void and even not on their own will with the PSB) and even win, their profile will become even bigger and help the single. Go with something other than RBR and they should extend their run to 21 top 10's ... i mean it would be lovely to see them reach 30 (which is a possibility with the 2 album deal).

Jeese, that means both brothers are gone :(
  16. Basically TP sold 400k+ whereas SOTU has sold 600k+, TP = 1 week at no.1 whereas SOTU = 4 weeks at no.1.
  17. No its not. The Promise stayed at no.1 for 1 week, SOTU for 4 weeks. You cant define The Promise as their biggest hit in anyway. It was their biggest in 5 years, but not EVER and thats what this thread says.
  18. Its the video that gets me too, such a lazy artist IMO.
  19. But The Promise isnt Girls Aloud's 'biggest' hit, so it is incorrect.
  20. Are we talking sales-wise or position-wise? Either way thats incorrect as Sound Of The Underground still remains their biggest hit and The Loving Kind has already sold more than Whole Lotta History has altogether.
  21. Nothing desperate. Why should a boring, effortless drone of a song like Kanye's stop an amazing song written by The Pet Shop Boys and sang by one of the biggest girlbands go top 10 AND break their run of top 10 singles at 19?! When Kanye bothers to even come over here and stop being so big headed in general, then i'll have respect for him. Its just another forgettable song, one of around 15 he's released of which only 5 people can actually remember the titles of.
