This is Lights just taken down a semitone...I thought there was something suspect, it sounds nothing like Rebecca Black. Her voice in Friday does not sound like that due to autotune on account of the fact her speaking voice is just as irritating :P Also, for an official channel, it's very bad audio quality and the captions are pretty desperate. I mean I know she's only 13 but surely she'd have more sense than to practically beg people to see that she's got a perfectly fine voice and to spread this fact around.

Here is where it gets interesting as, for the first time, the songs are revealed and you get to give your verdict. This month we have a grand total of 46 countries participating, the highest number for a year, so let's hope that the quality matches the quantity. A special welcome to newcomers Budtar, Danaelanda and Fanadminaj, as well as returning countries Aquafina, BaNG, Juranabaijan and particularly two participants who are returning after lengthy absences: Allecian and JRK-off. Down to business! It's all very simple really; listed below are all the competing songs, which have been randomly divided into two semi-finals. Everyone must vote in their own semi-final (and only their own semi-final) by awarding points to their top ten favourite songs: 12 points for their favourite, 10 for their 2nd, and 8-1 points for the rest. You cannot vote for your own entry. You vote by sending these to me, Peter30, by PM and you must have your points in by 5pm on Saturday 25th June. You can see below each semi-final a list of countries who have voted and who are yet to vote. When I recieve your votes, your country name will turn from green to black. Failure to vote, as always, will result in a 33% deduction from your total score. The results will take place on Saturday evening, at which point the 14 songs from each semi-final with the highest number of points will progress to the final, to take place next week. OK I've had a half-assed go at making a recap video for tonight, but it's just not happening and I've now got to go out. If anybody would like to do them, then they get a special treat in the form of an exclusive first listen to the songs a whole 2 and a half hours before the semi-finals open! :o I know that recap videos aren't a huge deal nowadays though, so if you guys aren't bothered then that's fine by me, neither am I! :P

Although looking back through the list of songs last night, I remembered Leonville and Camtoro. They turned out to be the same user, but I think we suspected for months on end to the extent it became a bit of a running joke :lol: It didn't really matter since they were both crap anyway...simpler times...

Well probably neither as EVERYONE hasn't gone indie, it's just more prominent than usual.

Well I'm going to church tomorrow morning! So go on then, have another hour! Confirmation closes at 1pm! I'll reiterate however, that this is ONLY for people who haven't confirmed anything yet and wish to do so. Nobody who has already confirmed is allowed to change unless your entry isn't allowed, but that's not looking likely to be the case for anybody. So far, all but two of last month's competitors are back, as well as three debut countries and four returning countries. Potentially a couple more...it's gonna be a big one!!

Nobody submits 2 songs to the host. You may have seen people discussing songs that they were thinking of sending, since we aren't allowed to confirm what we've sent until the contest officially begins. But each country only submits one song to the host (unless of course it goes against the rules or is deemed too cheap, in which case they are asked to enter another).

It's to stop people opening a second account and sending more than one song into the contest.

As much as it pains me to say it, as I'm sure it will pain Tom as well, I'm afraid you need to have been on Buzzjack 6 months before entering :( Obviously there's nothing to stop you having a national thread and building up interest before then, but them's the rules I'm afraid.

If your entry finishes just in front of all the ones you tried and failed to confirm, possibly. :P

Most likely I think Herzebania XXXV is looking like a bit of an Estonia 2002 affair :heehee:
