  1. Oh dear lord  It's a cover of the title song from the new(ish) Andrew Lloyd Webber musical...no joke.
  2. ALSO, I'll say this in a seperate post, since I'm sure there will be people who have "heard it all before" and will not read the first post. Confirmation are to be sent to GHOSTHUNTER. I repeat, Ghosthunter. NOT to myself. Of course I'll still pass on confirmations that I may or may not already have recieved, but people, honestly!
  3. It should be pointed out also, that normal (albeit MARGINALLY more relaxed) cheapness rules still apply. If the mods vote that the song is too cheap then we'll PM you at the first opportunity with an explanation.
  4. First of all, sorry it's so late! Buuut.... Here we go! The latest Buzzjack Song Contest spin off is officially starting, and the first ever edition of BJ-FESTIVALEN!! :cheer: http://poplight.zitiz.se/files/imagecache/default-large/files/article/petra_mede_2.jpg In the style of Melodifestivalen, the competition will tour around the Buzzjack world, being hosted in Ashton, Caerfyrddia, Herzebania and Numayania. Starting this weekend, each of the four hosts will present a heat, from which 2 songs will qualify to the grand final in Morpeth Cove, Ashton, and a further two will make it to a second chance round at a yet to be announced location. Normal rules apply to this competition, with a few extras: - Songs must be a maximum of 3 minutes in length. They can be shorter - as short as you want - but not a second over 3:00. There has been some confusion so I'll make it clear that the video can be longer than 3 minutes, as long as the song itself is 3:00 or shorter. You can also enter a song longer than 3 minutes if you are willing to edit it down for the purposes of the competition. If there is any doubt then PM either myself, Tom, Silas or Ghosthunter. - No Eurovision or Junior Eurovision songs are allowed, nor are any songs that have competed in national finals for either of these competitions. Of course Eurovision ARTISTS are allowed, but not with the song(s) they entered with. I hope that's all fairly clear! Confirmation will take place the same way as the regular competition, via PM. Please send your confirmations to Ghosthunter, not me, in the following format: Country: Artist: Song: Link: Confirmation closes on Saturday 30th April at midday, with the heats hopefully starting later that evening. Feel free to discuss or tease potential entries in this thread, that's what it's for after all, but do not confirm anything anywhere on the forum. But of course, you all know that already. :teresa: I think that's all that needs said right now, so without further ado, NU KÖR VI! 5. Confirmation thread coming folks. Sorry about the delay!
  6. OK folks! There seems to have been a lapse in communication somewhere, so as you can see, the confirmation thread isn't open yet. I could open it right here right now if you like, but if you think it would be more fair to have a specific time, then we could always wait until 7pm tomorrow to open it? Your call.
  7. We'll iron out stuff like that nearer the time (we might not even need to keep voting open until Friday). Ultimately it's up to Phil, who is hosting the final even though he's got exams coming out of his ears :P . Whatever works best for him.
  8. Yep. And then once the second chance round and the final come then everyone can vote :)
  9. I suppose I should post the provisional dates of this as well: Confirmation: Monday 25th April (tonight) - Saturday 30th April Heats: Saturday 30th April - Tuesday 3rd May Heat results: Wednesday 4th May Second chance round: Wednesday 4th May - Saturday 7th May Second chance results: Saturday 7th/Sunday 8th May Final: Sunday 8th May - Wednesday 11th May Final results: Either the evening of Wednesday 11th or Friday 13th May That's more or less how it's going to pan out. Obviously the voting periods are shorter than an actual contest because there's more to fit in and there will never be more than about 10 songs to vote on. Which means that things for XXXIV should kick off around about the weekend of May 7th/8th.
  10. that's fine. As long as the song itself is 3 minutes or less then that's the main thing.
  11. Confirmation will overlap with the final of this slightly, so there isn't too big a gap between proper contests. The window for this is about 2 and a half weeks from confirmation starting tonight :)
  12. Yes, ESC artists are fine :) And 3.00 is the maximum length. [/schoolmarm]
  13. As for potential Eurovision clashes, during Eurovision week it will only be the confirmation stage of the next contest, so nobody will have to sift through endless songs and decide on their votes. So it isn't really a major clash. The actual voting stage of the next contest won't start until after the Eurovision final. Still, glad this idea is getting a fair bit of support :)
  14. OK here we go, the next spin-off will be held in the next couple of weeks, with confirmation opening tomorrow. There isn't a specific theme, so options are fairly wide, but there is a specific rule to go with it, as well as a change in format. It's the first ever edition of... BJFestivalen :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: That's right, we're jumping on board the Melodifestivalen train!! Those who are familiar with the Swedish Eurovision selection will be very familiar with the format, and know that it's more of a specific way of deciding the winner, rather than a particular theme. There will be four heats, each hosted by one of the BJSC mods. Followed by a "second chance / Andra Chansen" round, and a final, which obviously will be alot smaller than usual BJSC finals, with just ten songs making the last stage. To make this a little bit more like Melodifestivalen, there is one main rule to go with this, and that is that songs must be a maximum of three minutes in length. Also, to encourage some effort being made to find songs, no Eurovision songs are allowed, nor are songs from any country's national selection for Eurovision. The songs obviously don't have to be 3 minutes long originally, if you wish you can edit a longer song yourself, but the version submitted must be 3 minutes or less. Confirmation will open tomorrow evening, and will take the usual form. Obviously there won't be as much strictness with regards to potentially cheap entries but we strongly encourage you to try and be original, and there will still be some mod vetting if necessary. I think I've mentioned most synonyms which can only be referred to as obsolete when one is speaking about glacial paths (I'll explain that sentence later! ) I think I've mentioned most of the important stuff, any questions just ask! And indeed any criticisms will be abruptly shot down but feel free to air them anyway :P
  15. As you might have seen in other threads, a spin-off competition will be happening between the current contest and the next one. For those unfamiliar with the concept, it's basically a contest seperate from the main ones, with a specific theme or alternative rules. An announcement will be made about this one, which is starting very soon, will be made after the conclusion of the BJSC XXXIII results :w00t:
  16. No, get on with it.
  17. Peter30 posted a post in a topic in BuzzJack Song Contest
I wonder where Herzebania would be in that if we divided points by contests appeared in... :o
  18. Tyron :( I knew you hated me but I didn't think you'd go so far as to fix the results for Herzebania to lose!
  19. To be fair, whenever this spin-off is, it'll either involve a week and a half or so of a gap between contests without a spin-off, or a week and a half or so of a gap between contests WITH a spin-off. I figured the latter is more fun, and I'm sure most would agree.
  20. Umm yeah I don't really know what that means :(
  21. Did you edit that?? I have a feeling it was worded a bit more strongly first time I looked
  22. Oh, I did not get that. Apologies. I'm sure you know what you're doing
  23. Just give a time and close it then, you can't wait and see who gets votes before deciding whether you're going to keep allowing votes or not... I'm sure whatever happens and whoever gets points before the deadline, you'll be able to make it exciting. You're so skilled like that. :)
  24. What's that supposed to mean? =\
  25. How many votes are we missing now?
