  1. Belgium: Much better than "I Hear Your Heart" but still not great. Still, I like the revamped version, it has one of the year's better key changes. 6/10 Moldova: A mess. 1/10 Macedonia: I don't really like this at the moment but I can see it worming its way into my head gradually. 3/10 Ireland: I've talked about Jedward til I'm blue in the face so I'll just say that this song is average and doesn't go anywhere. It's not even that contemporary. 4/10
  2. YEAH TYRON stop belittling him! Honestly have a bit of compassion, do you have no feelings? -_-
  3. Well done.

I don't think it's explicitly against the rules, but there would be uproar in the other countries, especially performing a whole other song. I think the reason the band are specifically being brought in to play it is because it's instead of Lena. If she was performing herself she'd just use her usual backing track.

    Doubtful, since she's competing.
  6. Oh I've come to love this time of night on here :D Go on Tyron baby tell him who's boss!
  7. I don't have an issue with it really, I'm just susprised that it is the final version. And yes it does, it sounds COMPLETELY synthetic on account of the fact that it's made up entirely of synthetic instruments...
  8. Oh dear...I didn't realise it had been sent out to iTunes etc. Hmm if that's the case it's much more likely this version is the one to be going to Eurovision I suppose. Not impossible, but most of the time when there have been seperate versions on CD singles and Eurovision, it has been "2 alternative versions" rather than an early version and a polished version. Je Ne Sais Quoi wasn't given a release prior to its remix as far as I know. Even so, I'm sure you won't mind nor will most people who have fallen in love with the song...I just naturally assumed it would be given a little polishing up between the national final and Eurovision. It just doesn't sound "finished" to me.
  9. Well that's fair enough I suppose, and there's been no word of a revamp as such. But I just find it hard to imagine that it will be left as it is, as it is still in the "demo" form that was entered into the web selection. A good comparison would be the early version of Questa Notte. It's the only one I can think of right now but most other big traditional ballads that have started off synthy have been given revamps. I wouldn't want them to change anything fundamental about the song itself (final chord aside), but I just can't imagine that its current form is how the composers ultimately envisaged the song to be. Obviously there's no way of knowing whether it's been revamped or not, since there hasn't been an official video made; just the national final performance. Everything above also applies to Lithuania's song. I hope they get rid of the 80s drums that come in in the second half of the song!
  10. To be fair the reason it sounds like a demo is probably because it is a demo, being the same version that was entered into the open internet selection. Rich I'm not for a minute suggesting that it should have a Tedder-esque "modern" feel to it, quite the contrary, but are you saying you would not prefer this to have real strings sweeping throughout it and a proper piano than what is currently a backing track made entirely on a keyboard? I'm convinced that if (and probably when) a revamp does surface, you'll look back on this version after a while and wonder what you saw in it  I know that the feeling they're going for is an early Aguilera track / X Factor song, but until it is properly orchestrated, it just sounds like a demo of both of those.

It's OK Tyron you can look...it's the real deal this time! P89QkwmeyJc
  12. ESC EXPERT, I'm curious to know why you think the Big 5 would want to fix it in their own favour?
  13. I think it will too, especially with its draw. I'm hoping that it will be re-recorded before Eurovision, because right now it sounds so demo-ish, and it would sound SO much better with REAL instruments!
  14. Austria has jumped up quite a bit! Has there been a revamp that I'm not aware of?
  15. I've no idea what you have predict, because the only posts you made last year were offering your services in advising people where to put their money when it came to betting on the contest, considering your impeccable record. EDIT: Apologies, you did in fact predict that Manga from Turkey, the band with many international fans singing the song which was among the bookies' favourites from the country with the biggest diaspora, would finish in the top ten. I don't think many of us saw that one coming, so well done for that. EDIT2: Oh and Tyron...raaarrrrrrr :kink:
  16. Ooh Tyron, you're so sexy when you're forceful. Anyways, I see the first few posts from ESC EXPERT were prior to last year's contest, offering tips on betting, saying that in 2009 he had an 80% success rate which he hoped to get back up to 100% in 2010. Perhaps a little bitter that he didn't see a Germany win coming? Or perhaps he did, since it was a fix from the start.
  17. I was pretty indifferent to this for a while, until I saw the live performance which does lift it. Stella really sells the song. Still, the song itself is lacking something, so it's only a 7/10 from me.
  18. Arg. Windows Movie Maker isn't allowing me to import the song I want to send for some reason (or any song for that matter), and it's not on Youtube. Frustration.

I'm sure it will be splendid :)
  20. What's the problem with On The Floor?

    Unlikely.
  22. Well there we have it. The expert has spoken, what more evidence do we need?

I'm really not. I honestly don't get the Norway 2008 comparisons...this is far more epic.
  24. Yes... No? Maybe? I don't know what point you're trying to make.
  25. One concern I have about Denmark is that I hope they can pull it off properly live. I don't quite believe their national final performance was entirely devoid of pre-recorded backing vocals and autotune, as seems to be the norm with the Danish national selections in the past couple of years. Those backing vocals in the final chorus have to be perfect, and the sound mix has to be bang on the mark.
