S02E16: 'Original Song'
Good to know it's going to get a proper release so to speak.

S02E16: 'Original Song'
They're both great, but Loser Like Me sounds like a HIT. I hope they shoot a music video for it and not just have it featured once in the TV series, because it definitely could be the "Glee song" that Don't Stop Believing has been up to now.

Melodifestivalen 2011
Hmmm I think an each-way bet on Loreen looks VERY tempting right now!!

BJSC XXXII - Confirmation
Hmm...I wonder how many Danish entries there will be in this contest...

Green Room [2011]
At one point there were 7 national finals on Saturday, but now there's only 6. What's changed? Was Armenia's meant to be on Saturday?

Green Room [2011]
Oooh... Apparently her backing singers also did backing for Alexander Rybak, Christine Guldbrandsen and Guri Schanke. They must be Norways lucky charm :D (Or not so lucky for Guri)...

Austria 2011
I hate songs in minor that end on a major chord. It's the number one no-no in pop music as far as I'm concerned. This song is actually mostly in a major key, but for some reason the final chord has the same effect. It's just cheese OVERLOAD. If I Don't Wanna Leave couldn't quality, neither could this.

Austria 2011
I tried to download Nadine Bieber's song based on Rich's rave reviews, only to find that I'd already downloaded it a few weeks back. Clearly it didn't make that much of an impression on me. It's fairly good, although vocally it won't sound nearly as good live. And I DESPISE that final chord. So much that it actually knocks it from an 8/10 to a 6/10 for me.

Melodifestivalen 2011
I prefer Sonja's vocals to be honest! Her adlibs may not be as high or impressive as Carola's but for me she's much easier to listen to. I listened to Carola's version a few hours back and her vocals are like fingernails down a blackboard. So screechy.

Danish Melodi Grand Prix 2011
Why??? It's just a watered down Chanée and N'Evergreen (which sadly will probably see it win) without as good a hook.

BJSC XXXII - Green Room
Hmmm decisions decisions.... Thinking of sending something from September's album... ByUUoka-2Qo a3zYHa7eKNM But then of course there's Nikki Kavanagh as well... t8uvxvP2st8 sPfvAapvFZ0 (the latter song may already have been sent to a previous contest I wasn't in, but I'm not sure...) Thoughts???

That's very noble of you... I'm sure you didn't even try and confirm her either ;)

Melodifestivalen 2011
I wouldn't mind Sara Varga so much if it wasn't for the fact that the Swedish press are blatantly going to go into a frenzy about her as an underdog and completely f*** things up for Jenny and Loreen in Andra Chansen.

Melodifestivalen 2011
I've just been on Scandipop and had it confirmed that it is in fact them who always make the mistake of assuming there is a key change when there isn't. They've just said ‘För Att Du Finns’ has one...I don't know exactly what people think key changes are...

Melodifestivalen 2011
In theory yes, but then Timoteij were much more likeable. I don't know what Love Generation are like, but Timoteij had the sweet girl next door thing, like Anna Bergendahl. Also their song was much more friendly to the Melfest voters. Love Generation should make the final but I don't even think that's a guarantee. I just struggle to find a decent demographic that will vote for them. However if they do make the final and deliver the goods vocally they should go down well with the international juries.

Melodifestivalen 2011
He was a Disney celebrity and a kid's TV presenter so he still had a solid fanbase to vote for him even if he wasn't a star in the mainstream. I think a better comparison would be Timoteij, especially since they're a girl group. Still, they only managed 5th...

Iceland 2011
Nope, same key.

Iceland 2011
No more than it does in other choruses. It does the same chord progression at 1.50 and 2.38

Iceland 2011
There's one key change at 2:06. The song stays in the same key at the money note. Money note =/= key change, and I think it's ESC Today or Scandipop or somebody who always seems to get this wrong and it bugs me.

Take Over Control only got to number 24 in the UK???? :o

I am interested to see whether Unbreakable is actually the Westlife song, as it would have been her winners single. GUTTED that Could It Be Magic isn't included!

BJSC XXXII - Green Room
That's bull$h!t. It was never a given that Release Me would win. It was always one of the favourites (along with Lights and Sound of Arrows), but there always has to be a favourite! Looking back on it it's easy to see it as an extremely unoriginal entry that won due to hype, especially because of the hit it became afterwards, but that was very unexpected. However at the time confirmation started there was relatively little hype around the track, it certainly wasn't all over the internet, and the majority of people who said it was a surefire winner only did so after I said that it was what I was considering as an entry. You can look into my thread when I first posted it for proof. I know that this is nothing to do with Helena, but I don't like Release Me being put in the same bracket as Eva Simons or Kesha with hindsight, as it certainly wasn't cheap, unoriginal or even a foregone conclusion at the time. It's an entry I'm extremely proud of and I don't want that taken away from me. Just because you didn't get Release Me until a good long while after the contest

What double key change?
